‘It was the things he did for me as a friend before I had a record deal,’ Snoop tells MTV News. By Steven Roberts Snoop Dogg Photo: MTV News Nate Dogg was laid to rest this past weekend in his hometown of Long Beach, California. Several artists came to pay their last respects, including Dr. Dre, Daz and Kurupt . They gathered alongside the G-Funk crooner’s friends and family on a gloomy Saturday morning. At his funeral, an emotional Snoop Dogg spoke about how the two attended the same high school. “1986, Poly High School, that’s where we connected for the first time,” Snoop reflected on his friend. “We didn’t know each other, but the music connected us. We built a brotherhood, a friendship.” On Monday (March 28), MTV News caught up with Snoop after his appearance on “The Seven,” and he elaborated on what his friendship with Nate meant to him. “As a friend, Nate Dogg, was like a brother, a homey, someone who understood Snoop Dogg, someone who understood the struggle of Snoop Dogg, because he was a part of the struggle of Snoop Dogg. We created a group, 213: me, him and Warren G, back in the late ’80s that spawned our careers.” The rapper and the crooner collaborated frequently throughout their careers, recording G-Funk hits like “It Ain’t No Fun” and “Bitch Please,” but for Snoop it was all about the time they spent together coming up. “His friendship meant so much to me, because it was more about before we made records, as opposed to when people [saw] us in the limelight. It was the things he did for me as a friend before I had a record deal. The belief he had in me as an artist, as a homey, and just staying down and sticking to the rules of the game. That’s what made Nate so genuine.” Related Videos Remembering Nate Dogg Related Photos Snoop Dogg Tweetpics: The Tattooed Tribute To Nate Dogg Nate Dogg: A Life In Photos Related Artists Snoop Dogg Nate Dogg

Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, is NOTHING sacred anymore?!?! A Decatur man who turned himself in to police Thursday has been charged with fatally shooting an Atlanta woman following a funeral. Kelvin S. Bradley, 26, allegedly shot Tomika Webb after the woman got into an altercation with mourners who had just attended funeral services. The man they were mourning was shot and killed one week earlier in front of the same Addison Place residence where Webb, 36, was found dead last Friday, Channel 2 Action News reports. According to Atlanta police, Webb had come to the funeral to confront someone. It’s unclear what prompted the dispute. As tempers flared, Webb attempted to flee in her Nissan Maxima but didn’t make it far, crashing into a few other vehicles before coming to a stop, police said. APD spokeswoman Kim Jones said Webb had gotten into an argument with a man, believed to be her alleged killer, prior to her death. Bradley is being held at Fulton County Jail. This story is just sad. Sad for the family attending the funeral. Sad for the family that just lost a sister, daughter, cousin, friend, behind this foolishness. We have GOT to stop killing each other. Period! Source
Shawntel Newton is sad. She harbors no hard feelings about being eliminated last week on The Bachelor , but she was devastated just the same. She even uses the l-word to describe it. Here’s what Shawntel had to say about taking Brad Womack to her unusual workplace, the tension with her family, who she thinks will win and more … On taking Brad to work: “I thought I might as well lay my cards out on the table. This is my job. This is what I grew up around and if he wants to get down on his knee and propose, he should see what I do. It’s the final test almost.” On her family’s concerns: “I always thought that I would stay in Chico and take over the business. It was a shock to my family. Everything came at them at once – me saying I’m in love, I might be leaving this lifestyle in Chico, moving.” “I was falling in love so I was willing to move.” On being surprised she was cut: “I told him I was in love. It was like minutes [before] he left. I thought I’d have more time to explore what he thought about me moving, saying I love him, the funeral home. Unfortunately, he wasn’t feeling the same.” On moving on: “I compare this to losing a loved one because we go through the same stages of denial. In losing Brad, I allowed myself to get angry. I allowed myself to go through the stages in a healthy way and I’m not in love with him anymore.” On who she thinks will win: “I thought Ashley Hebert was going home. I knew that she hadn’t told him that she was falling in love and I had. It was a shock that he’d let a girl go who was in love and willing to leave her life.” “But my personal opinion is that he is in love with Emily. she’s everything he wants. He wants to be a father to her child. She wants to get married and have more kids.” Who do you think will win The Bachelor?
