Oh, 2016, haven’t you done enough?! We don’t know what this year’s problem is, but it takes and it takes and it takes, and it gives nothing back but empty hearts, broken souls, and America’s first Cheeto president. One of this year’s most recent hits — and one of its hardest — happened last week with the loss of Alan Thicke . The beloved Mr. Thicke was playing hockey with his 19-year-old son when he suffered a massive heart attack . He was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital, but he was declared dead soon after. After the news broke that he had died, celebrities and fans alike shared their shock and sadness . It seems like most everyone who knew of his work or who had actually worked with him adored him. And, needless to say, his family was heartbroken. His youngest son, Carter — the one who was with Alan when he had his heart attack — got on Twitter that same day and wrote “Today I lost my best friend and my idol.” “The world lost one of its finest,” Carter went on. “You are a legend and I love you Pops. Until next time.” Alan’s older son, Robin Thicke, took to Instagram to say “My father passed away today. He was the best man I ever knew. The best friend I ever had.” “Let’s all rejoice and celebrate the joy he brought to every room he was in. We love you, Alan Thicke. Thank you for your love. Love, your grateful son.” And now, Alan’s widow, Tanya Thicke, has made a statement of her own. And it’s rough . “It is with gut wrenching sadness and unbelievable grief that I thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for the outpouring of love and support during this unimaginable time,” the statement begins. “Through tears and smiles our dearest of family and friends came together at our home to celebrate the life of my sweet and devoted husband Alan Thicke.” “Yesterday, along with my step sons and our combined extended family, we laid my beloved husband, soul mate and the patriarch of our family to rest. We ask that you respect our privacy during this time of profound mourning.” In the statement, Tanya is referencing Alan’s funeral, which was held on Monday at the couple’s home. About the event, a source said that “The mood was very upbeat, it was more like a fun Vanity Fair Oscars party than a memorial.” “All the speeches were fun and full of life. It was just the way Alan would have wanted it, more of a celebration of his life. Everyone was expressing how much they love him.” For the funeral, Tanya asked that, instead of flowers, guests make donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, which was something that Alan “cared about deeply.” Here’s hoping that some of that grief gets easier for Tanya and her family. Burke Ramsey is one of two surviving members of the Colorado family that lost daughter JonBenet in December 1996. Ahead of the 20th anniversary of the beauty pageant participant's death, Burke has agreed to a sit-down with Dr. Phil. There's something off about the 29-year-old, something creepy in the way he smiles and the way his eyes shift here and there while he talks. In the latest clip from Dr. Phil's three-part interview , Burke spoke briefly about JonBenet's funeral. “Yah, I remember the viewing. I remember the casket was small and her eyes were closed,” Burke said. “I think one of her eyes was a little droopy or something. I thought that was weird.” Dr. Phil asked what was going through Burke's mind when he saw his sister like that. “That was weird,” he shared. “That was traumatizing a little bit.” “It was a lot of sadness. I don't think I fully grasped, like 'After this, I won't see her again.' “I remember my parents being really upset. I can remember my dad leaning down and giving her a kiss.” For as awkward as he appears to be, Burke doesn't mince words when it comes to the media storm that has encircled his life for the past twenty years. “I know people think I did it; that my parents did it,” Burke said of the murder, in which JonBenet was found in the basement of the family's home. The first thing I remember is my mom bursting into my room really frantic saying ‘Oh my gosh, oh my gosh,’ running around my room, now, I know, looking for JonBenet.” Burke also remembers the TV vans and camera crews that have been in his face over the years. “Seeing that as a little kid is just kind of a chaotic nightmare, so I was pretty skeptical of any sort of media, it just made me a very private person,” Burke revealed. “As to what I’m doing now, it’s the 20th anniversary and apparently still a lot of tension around it, I guess I kind of wanted to make it about remembering her and not just another news story.” While Burke is telling his side, former suspect John Mark Karr claims he knows exactly who killed the six-year-old, but will take his secret to the grave. “I’m going to protect every person that needs to be protected ,” Mark Karr told producers of the three-part documentary, JonBenet: An American Murder Mystery. “Maybe God up in Heaven will forgive me for some of the things that I did to help other people!” JonBenet: An American Murder Mystery miniseries premieres tonight on Investigation Discovery at 10 p.m.
Fresh off his first place win earlier this week on Dancing With the Stars , Nyle DiMarco is already considering another turn in the spotlight. It would appear that reality TV really is his bag, as the former America’s Next Top Model winner is already contemplating joining The Bachelor . “I mean, I don’t know. Let’s see if they reach out to me and see what happens,” the star, who is deaf, told Us Weekly . “We’ll see what happens,” he added. “I think it’s funny because it would be kind of awkward to have an interpreter involved during the whole thing.” Aww, that could be cute to see the contestants try to learn sign language, like that scene in Four Weddings and a Funeral when the cute deaf guy asked the girl to dance and she signed, “That would be mice.” But DiMarco makes a good point: “[The fantasy suite] would be a triangle,” he joked. Oof. Yeah, that could get awkward. View Slideshow: Dancing With the Stars Season 22 Premiere: All the Performances! However, DiMarco is single, and his identification as sexually fluid could really spice things up on the dating show, which has been running for 20 seasons. The Bachelor franchise has come under fire for lack of diversity in the past. Earlier this year, ABC addressed the possibility of casting a black bachelor in the role, but no confirmation was made. Could DiMarco be the first deaf, sexually fluid Bachelor? Prior to his mirror ball trophy win, the handsome star dedicated his final DWTS performance to the deaf community, particularly hearing impaired children. “There’s about 70 million deaf people in the world and only two percent have access to education and 75 percent of parents don’t sign to their deaf kids,” he said. “The show has made me realize how I can impact other lives,” he continued. “It’s not really about me. It’s about the millions of deaf people that live.” I bet there’d be tons of ladies willing to accept a rose from that charmer. View Slideshow: 16 Most Shocking Bachelor and Bachelorette Finales EVER
Chyna is dead. I lack empathy. I thought to myself “what’s the best way to leave a Chyna tribute”, you know now that she’s dead at 45 and 100s if not 1000s of people actually care, most of those people being weird white trash wrestling bros who forgot she existed…because even they stopped watching wrestling in their trailer park homes when UFC happened… I realized I have no tact, no empathy, no class, no consideration…people die…who cares…so part of Chyna, the only part I know, other than her steroid dick clit, is her sex tape… If the decision behind doing the sex tape, is probably the reason she had a dick click, and probably the reason she died….is part of her story, her legacy, who she is…who am I to take that away from her and not celebrate her….and really there’s not much difference between a wrestling chick, a stripper and a porn chick… I think it’s only fitting…thoughtless, rude, tacky, maybe….I mean if I was her family, this wouldn’t be on the screen at the funeral, but I’m not the one who filmed this shit…or sold this shit, I am not the one who thought it was a good idea, hell I didn’t even want to watch it when it happened… And like my friend who used to jerk off to pics of his grandma in a bikini after she died always said…it’s not wrong to jerk off to them if they’re dead….but I would not take his moral code as Gospel on anything, he also jerked off to his dead grandma…when she was still alive…not that would anyone would jerk off to this.. I guess what i am saying is – don’t judge a woman’s life by a shitty, if not terrifying sex tape. RIP motherfucker. Last week, Mob Wives star Angela “Big Ang” Raiola passed away after battling stage four brain and lung cancer. As details of Raiola’s final hours began to pour in, we learned that the reality icon died as she lived – surrounded by loved ones, and with no apologies. Big Ang’s funeral – held today in Brooklyn – was also reflective of her personality, as family and friends honored her final wishes by paying tribute with a disco-themed blowout. “She would’ve been very happy with the service,” a source close to Big Ang tells Radar Online. “It was a very nice way to remember her life. “There was an open bar on every floor. And they were passing around sangria as the signature drink.” Of course, there were somber moments as well, as some who were cut out of Ang’s life were welcomed back into the fold during her final days and permitted to mourn with the rest of her loved ones – while others remained outcasts. As we reported last week, Ang forgave her estranged husband , Neil Murphy, while she was on her deathbed. Those in attendance at the funeral say Murphy – who had shown little emotion up to that point – “broke down” during the service. Raiola didn’t make peace with everyone in her final days, however, as several sources are reporting that fellow Mob Wives stars Karen Gravano and Brittany Fogarty were banned from all memorial services. One insider explains that both women’s fathers testified against other mobsters in exchange for immunity or lighter sentences. Raiola – fiercely loyal to her friends and family to the last – reportedly left specified that Gravano and Fogarty be explicitly instructed to stay home. Clearly, Big Ang stayed true to her cosa nostra code to the end. View Slideshow: Celebrities Who Passed Away in 2016: Gone, But Not Forgotten
