Good day, Bossip fam! Here’s to another “Almost There Thursday!” The New Year is approaching and, as we all have done in the past, it’s the time of year when people make promises to themselves to change certain parts of their lives and/or habits. Also known as, New Year’s Resolutions! Whether it’s vowing to hit the gym and shed those 15 pounds you’ve been wanting to get off for years or cutting all your credit cards in half, we’ve all made those promises to ourselves. Regardless of how long we stick to the plan, the intention is still there, right? But how many of us have made a romantic resolution? Everybody does at some point! The single folks make an effort to date more, the philanderers go on strike and try celibacy and the married couples might make a vow to be intimate more than once or twice a month. Well, 2011 is no exception! So, we took to the streets and found folks who were willing to share their romantic resolutions! Take a look! In 2011, I’m going to try and date more. I never go out and I’m always forfeiting parties and events. I don’t like dressing up and standing in heels all night long when I can watch “Weeds” and the “Big C” on demand. It’s crazy too because I love meeting new people and socializing but if I’m not in the mood after work and working out, which is often, I’m not going anywhere. Next year, I will have a better attitude about going out but it seems like more of the same and seeing the same people over and over again. I’m just not into it, but he won’t come knocking on my door now will he? – Megan, 31 I’m going to give my fiance a break. I’m always all over her but I love her so much and every time I see I just want to grab her and have my way with her. We have a little girl and she lights up my life in way that’s indescribable and my future wife is the only person I can thank for that. I can do better with handling things that need to be done around that house and feedings and things of that nature so I’m going to make a point to be better about taking initiative, she shouldn’t have to ask. I’m a great Dad and I’m going to be a great husband but, God willing in 2011, I will be a better man, husband and father. – Malik, 35 This coming year I’m going to make a point to try and make amends with my mother-in-law. We’ve never gotten along and I don’t really care for her. It’s really none of my business but I know the pain she put my husband through with her addiction and having him floating form foster homes and abandoning him and his brother. Like I said, it’s none of my business but I’m dealing with the ramifications of her lack of mothering. And since she “found Jesus” she’s holier than thou and I can’t have a glass of wine? Don’t like her. But, I guess, ratchets need love too. I’m going to do better. – Beverly, 33 Let’s see here, in 2011 I’m going to stop whoring around. I’m in my 30′s and all my homies are getting married and having babies. I’ve been living the life a bachelor and my track record with women hasn’t been the greatest. All this time, and this is a true moment of honesty for me, I’ve been bagging broads who don’t challenge my advances. It is definitely starting to get old and I do want so much more than that. I work in the industry and thirsty birds are always cluckin’. I won’t be feeding them either. I need to really focus on the future and work towards what I really want. – Trey, 3? Romantically, for me, things are pretty grim. It could be better but, you know what? I don’t know where to go! Where do girls like me go to meet good guys? I’m a good girl, I have a job, I’m not looking for any handouts, I just want a partner that’s willing to be a part of my life, as I am his. Where do you find a guy like that? At home like me, right?
