Every week we revisit some of the pop culture trends, movies, viral moments and music from the week before and give our hot takes. Our experts Landon Lavarius and DJ Franchise share their opinions, sprinkle in some facts and then when it’s all over and done with, provide a rating of 1 to 10. We listen to the songs, watch the movies, scour the internet, and do the hard work so you don’t have to. Without further adieu, let’s jump into this week’s episode. Today, we’re going to discuss Jada Pinkett-Smith’s web television talk show, Red Table Talk . The series, which broadcasts on Facebook Watch weekly, debuted on May 7, 2018. It stars Jada Pinkett-Smith, her mother Adrienne Banfield Norris, her daughter Willow Smith and often an additional special guest per episode. The show was created after a video of Jada Pinkett-Smith, her mother and Willow shared discussing issues each generation experienced regarding motherhood. The initial video went viral and since the inception of Red Table Talk , they’ve been nominated for a Streamy Award and a People’s Choice Award. The series has featured a number of special guests including Gabrielle Union, Toni Braxton, Tiffany Haddish, and Will Smith’s ex-wife Sheree Fletcher.  On June 13, 2018, it was announced that Facebook Watch had ordered an additional 13 episodes of Red Table Talk. The show has managed to become a viral sensation.  Landon Levarius and DJ Franchise also break down Trey Songz’s latest track, Jill (Sumn Real) on this week’s episode of The Rewind. Trey Songz dedicated the new song, which he released back in November, to Jill Scott’s now viral simulated microphone fellatio video. Despite the fact that the video is old and Jill Scott isn’t too thrilled about all of the new and unwanted attention it’s been getting it, she did compliment Trey on the song and said that she actually liked it. With everyone talking about who they think the king of R&B is and Trey Songz’s name definitely being in the running for some people, it’s nice to see the singer drop something brand new for the fans. Jasmin Ford was surprised with the news that Fifth Third Bank was going to be paying off her student loans entirely. “I still can’t find the words,” the mother said on Thursday. “I’m off work again today and I’m just sort of pacing around and restless because I know my life is going to change.” Sign Up For Our Newsletter! Email Submit Ford is a Chicago native and was the first in her family to graduate from college. She received her bachelor’s degree in 2011 and then became a nurse three years later after going back to school for her nursing degree. She finished her Master’s degree in nursing in 2015. With no family assistance, she said she had to take out student loans in order to cover necessities like food and rent in addition to tuition. SEE ALSO:  Couple Brought To Tears After Operation Blessing Surprises Them On “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” [VIDEO] “I could not foresee when I’d be able to pay it off,” Ford said of her debt. “I just knew this was going to be a part of my life as long as I was alive unless there was some significant change, which — wow.” Ford said she now envisions being able to use her nursing career to give back even more and “pay it forward.” “I just imagine being able to spend more time physically with my family, not having to hustle, having mental freedom and with that, some spiritual freedom,” she said. “I can open myself to more experiences, opportunities and just be able to sit and be with my thoughts and be able to pursue what it is I came to do.” She also said that life will change for her son, Caleb, who is going to turn 2 in February. While struggling to pay back her debt, Ford worked nearly every day of the week at two jobs. “His life will be totally different,” she said. “I’m so happy and so proud that I’m able to offer that to him more than anything else because he deserves it.” Jasmine Ford was surprised by Fifth Third Bank after being chosen to participate in a documentary that the Ohio-based bank was producing on the student loan debt. She didn’t know she was being awarded $150K for her loans, because she thought the film crew was simply coming back to her home on Wednesday to shoot some additional video. Next year, Fifth Third Bank plans to pay off student debt for two more people. The bank will pay off loans of up to $39,000 for two users of Fifth Third Momentum, the bank’s student loan initiative that rounds up a customer’s debit card purchases and applies it to their student loan balance. Pharrell & Robin Thicke Ordered To Pay Marvin Gaye’s Family $5 Million In “Blurred Lines” Copyright Battle

Source: Ian West – PA Images / Getty via Bossip : After a five-year legal battle regarding the copyright of the hit song “Blurred Lines,” the fight has finally come to an end, with Marvin Gaye’s family being awarded a final judgment of nearly $5 million against both Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams . Email Submit The pair was accused of copyright infringement for their 2013 single after some people started to notice the similarities to Gaye’s 1977 hit “Got to Give It Up.” The R&B legend died back in 1984 after being shot to death by his father, Marvin Gay Sr. SEE ALSO:  Pharrell Williams Threatens To Sue Trump For Playing ‘Happy’ At His Rallies Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams were initially ordered in 2015 to pay Gaye’s estate more than $7 million, but that judgment was reduced to $5.3 million and the pair appealed the verdict. In the recent judgment from U.S. District Judge John A. Kronstadt in California, Thicke, Williams and Williams’ More Water From Nazareth Publishing are jointly required to pay Gaye’s family damages of nearly $2.9 million. Additionally, Thicke was ordered to pay more than $1.7 million and Williams and his publishing company must pay $357,631 in separate awards to Gaye’s estate. The ruling also awarded Gaye’s family prejudgment interest on the damages and 50% percent of the royalties from “Blurred Lines” moving forward. The entire World Wide Web is stanning Ellen Pompeo right now over her comments about diversity and inclusion in Hollywood. During a panel discussion for NET-A-PORTER’s “The Big Television Debate”, the Grey’s Anatomy star sat down with Gabrielle Union , Gina Rodriguez , Emma Roberts and revealed that she has no problem calling out the lack of color/ diversity wherever she is — including the NET-A-PORTER set where the panel was conducted. “This day has been incredible, and there’s a ton of women in the room, but, I don’t see enough color. And I didn’t see enough color when I walked in the room today.” As she continued on, Ellen got emotional when speaking on how Caucasian folks can be better allies. “As Caucasian people, it’s our job. It’s our task, it’s our responsibility to make sure we speak up in every single room we walk into. It’s our job because we created the problem.” Shout out to Ellen P. for keeping it G. Gabrielle Union’s face is a whole mood, too.

Source: Kevin Mazur / Getty Days after she announced that she and her husband Dwyane Wade welcomed their daughter via surrogacy , Gabrielle Union-Wade is now revealing their baby girl’s name to the world. We introduce you to  Kaavia James Union Wade . “Just greazzzy and happy. That is all,” the 46-year-old wrote on Instagram with a picture of her cuddling precious bundle of joy. “@kaaviajames pronounced Kah-Vee-Uh James,” she explained, adding a list of nicknames she’s given her newborn. “She has 102 nicknames including but not limited to Kaav, Kaavi, Kaavi Baby, Kaavi J, Jamie, KJ, Nugget, Nug, Pooters.” So where did the name come from? According to Gabby, it was a mix of both her and Dwyane’s family names. “We wanted to include my family in her name so that ‘James’ is from my uncle James Francis Glass who is also my grandfather,” she wrote, adding that “Union is her middle name. In addition, Dwyane posted some pics of his own celebrating his new baby girl.
