Stranded Leader Uses an Ipad to Run a Country

If you are stranded and you have no ways of getting home and you are running a country, then you must have the new Apple iPad. When Norway’s prime minister found himself stranded in New York as a huge volcanic cloud grounded flights to Europe, he flipped up his new Apple iPad and did the job to run his country. Jens Stoltenberg told CNN he uses the iPad to manage the situation at home as Norway closed its spaces under threat from the volcanic ash clouds. A photograph of Stoltenberg using the Apple iPad device was posted on the Internet by Norwegian officials with the title “The prime minister is working at the airport.” Stoltenberg told CNN that there are good means of communication, he said that it helps closed in contacts with his office in any times, he said that the activities in Norway are countless in any ways, he is trying to reduce the consequences of the volcano in Norway. It is normal for a Prime Minister to travel abroad, so Stoltenberg’s travel is no different from the other travels, internet plays a great role for leaders to manage their country in any places in the world. Asian Businesses Affected By Ash Disruption

Due to the spread of volcanic ash from Iceland volcano, some of Asian businesses have been affected by the disruption of flights. Factories in China’s Guangdong province suffered from the delays of the air shipment of their products such as clothes and jewelry. Big companies in South Korea like the Samsung and LG were unable to air-freight more than 20 percent of their daily electronic exports. Meanwhile, the Federation of Hong Kong Industries said that the hotels and restaurants in Hong Kong were also facing shortages of French cheese, Belgian chocolates and Dutch fresh-cut flowers. Multitasking Demonstrated at Apple OS 4.0 Sneak Peak Launch

This is finally confirmed. The Apple OS 4.0 will offer multitasking of applications on the Iphone. What’s something to rave about the good news is that the multitasking feature of the Apple OS 4.0 will not affect the speed and battery life of the iPhone, iPad and the iPod Touch. Double-clicking the home button of the said apple devices will now enable the user to view the running applications. Tapping the applications found after double-clicking the home button will enable them to switch from one running application to another. Engadget however describes the OS 4.0 multitasking feature more of as “not a true” multitasking system. The concept behind the setup for the new operating system is that it will just enable the devices to simply run the services apps need in the background and the applications don’t need to do them individually. How everything was made on the other hand is quite effective but there are still certain caveats on the Apple OS 4.0 for IM maintenance. Users still have to wait until another release that will enable users to mutitask conversations and chats on IM apps like Yahoo! Messenger or Twitter. A big but sad news to Iphone 3G owners and older Iphone models: The Apple OS 4.0 can’t be updated to the devices since their hardware doesn’t support the new OS.
