Grenades in casinos?! What part of the game is that??? At least 40 people were killed and numerous others injured in a reported grenade attack at a casino in Monterrey, Mexico, the capital of Nuevo Leon, according to attorney general in that northern state. The incident occurred around 4 p.m. local time (5 p.m. ET) at the Casino Royale when two people aboard a vehicle arrived, and one threw three grenades into the building. There were conflicting unconfirmed reports from local media that the assailants poured gasoline on the building before setting it on fire. Between 20 and 30 people were trapped in the casino because of debris from the explosions, said Cmdr. Angel Flores with the Green Cross. Video from the scene showed a burned-out building as firefighters made rescue attempts to break the wall of the facade of the casino to release the smoke inside the building. The President of Mexico, Felipe Calderon had this to say about the incident: “With deep consternation, I express my solidarity with Nuevo Leon and the victims of this abhorrent act of terror and barbarism.” He added more: “These reprehensible acts require us all to persevere in the fight against gangs of unscrupulous criminals. All the support to NL (Nuevo Leon).” How long are they going to let this f***ery go on until someone does something down there? Source

As we previously reported, T.I. is expected to be released from prison in Arkansas in September. Tip’s final letter to the fans from prison hit the net yesterday. Check out what the King of the South had to say: What up world? This will be my last message from Forrest City. Just reaching out and sending my love, respect and appreciation to all who have been ridin’ with me throughout this chapter in my life and not just recently but since all the things started happening one after another back in ’06. From Big Phil’s murder to my beautiful little angel Leiah being called home to heaven, to my arrest in ’07, the 1st prison sentence in ’09, to this last journey that I’m nearing the end of. A lot of people who are aware of all that has happened to me in my life say that there aren’t many men who could have endured and withstood so much pain, pressure and turmoil while managing to remain sane and keep their wits about them. I must say that I wouldn’t have been able to do so without God’s grace and having a strong support system behind me every step of the way. So often we spend time acknowledging the presence of “haters” and all the negativity they send our way but we don’t take the time to acknowledge and appreciate all the ones who love and support us and supply us with the positive energy we need to overcome. We complain about the pain so much that we don’t even notice how much stronger, wiser and better of a person the suffering has allowed us to become. I heard Pac say once “To live is to suffer and to survive is to find meaning in that suffering.” I later found out it came from an author by the name of Friedrich Nietzsche. When I heard Pac say that it was just some hard shit to hear your favorite rapper say before he kicked a verse. Now that I’ve gone through it and grown from it those words have a real true meaning to me. I know this won’t be my last battle with adversity but it has truly prepared me for whatever else may come in the future. For that also I’m thankful. Now it goes without saying that I hate I had to come back to prison for these 10 months but I am truly grateful for the knowledge, growth and understanding I’ve received from the experience. Next time you hear from me I’ll be back out there with you. Doing for those who can’t do for themselves and speaking for those whose voices are never heard. When I touch down, I’m going all the way back to square one, like I’m fresh in the game and never sold a record. Back on some I’M SERIOUS, TRAP MUZIK shit… But until then RESPECT to all who deserve it. I’ll be back at you in a minute. – KING T.I. Gets A September 29th Release Date T.I. Should Have Been On His Honeymoon When He Was Arrested T.I. Sentenced To 11 Months In Prison, Says He “Screwed Up” [EXCLUSIVE] T.I. To Release Song In The Next Couple Of Weeks
Rapper claims a friend accidentally sent tweet of department phone numbers, resulting in ‘overwhelmed’ lines. By Rob Markman The Game (file) Photo: Jason LaVeris/ Getty Images It’s no secret that Game has an itchy Twitter finger, and now a tweet from his account has landed him in hot water with the police. After a message appeared on the West Coast rapper’s Twitter asking aspiring interns to call the sheriff’s station in Compton, the station’s phone lines were flooded with calls. The resulting calls reportedly caused a delay in emergency services, including a missing person report, a spousal assault incident, two robberies and a stolen car incident. Now the sheriff’s department is looking to hit the rapper up with a series of charges. A press release issued to MTV News by the Los Angeles County Sherriff’s Department said that the phone calls started at about 5:23 p.m. PT on Friday (August 12) and didn’t subside until a few hours later, at 8. “These needless phone calls interfered with the ability of sheriff’s desk personnel to answer the business line phones and 9-1-1 calls, and for dispatchers to send help to people who really needed it,” said Captain Mike Parker of the Sheriff’s Headquarters Bureau. “We don’t know how many people needed help but couldn’t get through the overwhelmed phone lines.” Parker tweeted the Game directly, alerting him that his initial call-out was jeopardizing public safety. Game, however, told TMZ.com that he wasn’t responsible for the tweet, and that a friend accidently sent the message from the rapper’s phone while he was at a photo shoot on Friday. The sheriff’s department is now presenting their case to the district attorney’s office in consideration of a criminal filing of three charges including annoying or harassing phone calls via electronic device or Internet, delaying or obstructing peace officers in the performance of their duties, and knowingly and maliciously disrupting or impeding communications over a public safety radio frequency. MTV News reached out to Game’s publicist regarding these reports and is still awaiting a response. Related Videos ‘RapFix Live’ With Game, Diddy And Machine Gun Kelly Related Artists The Game

‘Yeah, I’m gonna retire — from the industry,’ Waka says on ‘RapFix Live.’ By Rob Markman, with reporting by Sway Calloway Waka Flocka Flame Photo: MTV News Jay-Z famously said that he would retire after he dropped his debut album Reasonable Doubt way back in 1996, and we all saw how that worked out. With only one solo album under his belt, could Waka Flocka Flame do what Jigga couldn’t? Last month, the “Hard in Da Paint” rapper tweeted “This game 2 fake I [quit] rap after this year,” but when Sway asked Waka about his post-rap plans, he elaborated on the statement. “Nah, I am gonna retire. I’m gonna retire from the industry,” Waka said on last week’s “RapFix Live.” “I’m not gonna kick it in the industry no more. I’m gonna do what I wanna do, how I started like from the beginning. I’m gonna do exactly what I wanna do.” Flocka didn’t exactly say that he’d quit making music, however. Instead, the Atlanta-based rapper said he would go on to operate outside the music industry’s traditional avenues. “I don’t expect to win awards, I don’t expect to go to big venues. I’m gonna really help the youth — this is what I started doin’ it for, so I’m gonna finish doin’ it,” he said. “Yeah, I’m gonna retire — from the industry.” For now, though, fans can tide themselves over with Ferrari Boyz, Waka’s joint album with mentor Gucci Mane , which dropped last Tuesday. “Man, we just came to smash the game — point blank, period,” Waka told Sway when asked why the duo made Ferrari Boyz. “They chasin’ our sound, folks’ singles is on our sound, and we might as well just go ‘head and give it all to ’em.” Do you think Waka Flocka Flame can make it on his own terms? Kanye West and Jay-Z could have spent up to $150,000 trashing the $350,000 car for the video. By Gil Kaufman Photo: Roc-A-Fella How much swag do Kanye West and Jay-Z have? Enough to trash a $350,000 Maybach in their “Otis” video and laugh about it. The conspicuous-consumption-loving clip is a lesson in the dynamics of hip-hop power, with two of the biggest names in the game flexing their muscle by taking one of the world’s most expensive luxury cars and essentially turning it into a torn-up plaything that’s probably not even street legal, according to Myles Kovacs, president and co-founder of DUB magazine . “It’s a great gimmick and it looks ‘Mad Max’-ish. … They’re clearly rich enough that they can take something most people could never dream of owning and tear it up,” Kovacs said of the dismantling of the car that takes place in the clip. Experts dissected the meaning of “Otis” and the Maybach for us. What starts out as a mint vehicle is quickly stripped down in the Spike Jonze-directed clip. With the glass roof tossed to the side, the doors ripped off and welded to the back, the front grill removed and stuck on the tail end and fender walls created out of sheet metal, Kovacs said the actual work done on the car was minimal, but the damage was maximum. “If it’s just for show or to make a movie car, it’s pretty simple,” he said. “You’re just trashing the car, bolting on fake bumpers, pushing the wheels out, removing doors, cutting the roof off and adding flame throwers on the exhaust. But these guys are crazy to spend money to ruin a car like that.” The Maybach is on display at the Watch the Throne pop-up store, and MTV News was on the scene. While ‘Ye and Jigga are clearly having a blast driving the chopped and screwed ‘Bach in “Otis,” Kovacs said at this point the frame of the car is probably buckling and it’s folding up “like a taco,” because it appears that the center roof supports have been taken out. He originally guessed that a job like this might cost $150,000 and take two to three weeks if you were aiming to have the car be street-legal and reinforce the frame. Making it just safe enough for the video would set you back $100,000 or so. But if all they did was cut the doors and roof out and do some welding here and there, the right tech could do that in a week. Add another for painting and the right shop could get the job done for $20,000 or so. “The thing is, the value of that car is nothing now, you couldn’t drive it on the street,” he said. “It would start malfunctioning big time.” That’s something to consider for anyone thinking about taking the car off their hands. The last frame of the video declares, “The vehicle used in this video will be offered up for auction. Proceeds will be donated towards the East African drought disaster.” Their heart is in the right place, even if their grill isn’t. Alex Rodriguez should stick to being fed popcorn by Cameron Diaz. For the second time in a few years, the Yankees third baseman is at the center of an underground poker scandal. According to Radar Online, ARod took part in a couple illegal Texas Hold ‘Em games in the recent past, during which cocaine was used and a brawl broke out. Major League Baseball is looking into the allegations and taking them “very seriously,” an insider tells ESPN. The Yankees have won five games in a row without Alex Rodriguez in the lineup. The games were held at the Beverly Hills mansion of record executive Cody Leibel, with the host losing “more than a half-million dollars” at one, a witness told Radar, and violence subsequently breaking out over his refusal to pay. Once things turned ugly, Rodriguez reportedly left the scene and”tried to distance himself from the game,” said professional poker player Dan Bilzerian, who was present that night. “He just shook his head, not knowing what the hell happened,” said Bilzerian. “He didn’t want to deal with it at all. He was like, ‘OK, whatever. It’s your game.’ I would estimate A-Rod lost, like, a few thousand dollars that night. After everything that happened, he paid up and left.” In 2005, faced with rumors that their $300 million investment was taking part in gambling of this nature, the Yankees warned ARod to cease all illegal activity. But it apparently hasn’t sunk in and an anonymous MLB source says: “[Commissioner Bud Selig is] totally fed up with him. It’s like there’s something new with him every day and it’s impossible to keep up with it.” Former Paris Hilton sex tape partner Rick Salomon was also present at the games, an onlooker said. No, really.
‘We pushed it back to really route it and put other dates on there,’ Jay says of pushing launch to October. By Rob Markman Kanye West and Jay-Z Photo: Getty Images Fans eager to experience Watch the Throne live are going to have to wait an extra month before they can see Jay-Z and Kanye West in concert. On Tuesday morning, Live Nation started a pre-sale for the WTT Tour, but the original run, which was set to begin on September 22 in Detroit, is no longer. Instead Yeezy and Hov will now kick things off on October 29 in Atlanta, Georgia. The original 24-date tour is now slated for 17 stops, but Live Nation’s website says that more dates will be announced soon. The October 29 Atlanta date was in fact on the original schedule, as was the October 30, Greensboro, North Carolina, date and the November 1 show in Baltimore. The remaining concerts are all rescheduled. Look back at the events leading up to Watch the Throne ‘s August 8 release. There is still no New York City date on paper yet, though Hov confirmed that there will be one during a radio interview with Hot 97’s Angie Martinez on Monday, when he also denied rumors of a feud between him and Kanye . The Throne will stop at the nearby Izod Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey, for two nights and will also land in West’s hometown of Chicago on December 1. “That’s an old list we had to push that back, because it was like, we tried to put it out in pre-order and all the lines got jammed,” Jay told Martinez in the interview as she read off the tour’s original dates. “We pushed it back to really route it and put other dates on there. We’ll probably put four New York dates there instead.” Check out exclusive photos of Jay-Z and Kanye West in the studio. As of now, the last date on the schedule is across the northern border on December 18 in Vancouver. In the radio interview, Jay said that he and Kanye hadn’t worked out the performance details and couldn’t confirm who would hit the stage when or how the two would interact. “We hadn’t worked out those details yet but considerable time will be spent onstage together,” he said.
