Justin Bieber Shows Up to His Own Premiere An Hour Late

We’ll call it a rookie mistake THIS time, Mr. Bieber. Justin Bieber kept fans waiting for nearly an hour at his Never Say Never movie premiere February 2nd in NYC at Regal E-Walk Stadium. The young popstar was reportedly (according to his Twitter and staff at the premiere) supposed to arrive at 5:30 PM, but did not stroll up until well after 6:15 PM. Meanwhile hundreds of screaming/squealing/shrieking fans had been lined up behind the barricades since 6 AM in the freezing cold rain and sleet. The Biebs is still too new to the game for this kind of diva shenanigans, but his fans are so loyal and adoring, that they’ll likely forgive him for this oversight. Pretty lame, JB. Queen Bee collaborator 50 Cent (“Magic Stick”), not one to shy away from differences with others, downplayed the rift between the feuding female MCs. In an interview on Shade 45’s “G-Unit Saturdays,” he spoke via phone about the beef with DJ Whoo Kid. “When I look at them actually competing, I don’t see anything,” 50 said. “I think it’s harmless. It adds an interesting story and other interests to them, ’cause Kim is the original, I believe, and Nicki is the right now.” When the pugilistic rapper was told his answer was surprisingly neutral — in addition to working with Kim, 50 is from Queens, New York, as is Nicki — he joked he didn’t want to get involved their battle. “How do you get in the middle of a girl fight?” he responded. Since New Year’s Eve, when Kim fired the last salvo at Nicki during a performance, the two Big Apple rappers have remained quiet regarding one another. Veteran MC Rah Digga recently headlined an all-lady lyricist concert in Los Angeles, and the former Flipmode Squad member said the feuding isn’t necessary. “To be honest, if you’re an artist and you’re just into the music, all that stuff is irrelevant,” Digga told Mixtape Daily . “All that stuff they’re fighting for has nothing to do with making good music or being an artist. It is what it is. It’s a fight about being a popular celebrity. It has nothing to do with music. Parents Catch Fade At High School Game And Beat The Officers Down [Video]

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools athletics director Vicki Hamilton said school officials will wait until Monday to decide on what action to take following Friday’s incident during the Butler at East Mecklenburg basketball doubleheader. Following a blowout win by Butler’s girls, a parent of a Butler High starter was arrested after getting into a fight with a school resource officer. The incident was captured on video by WCNC, Channel 36, which was at the game filming highlights for its “Friday Night Frenzy” highlights show. According to reports from the game and the video, a fight broke out between the father and the officer. Then the man’s wife jumped in, along with the daughter, and began hitting the officer on the head. Sources say the incident started after the officer asked the player to sit on the Butler side of the gym. Several East Mecklenburg girls’ players transferred to Butler this season and the schools have a long rivalry. Hamilton said with school being out and the police report (as of early Saturday) not written, it would be hard to sort through all the information necessary to address the situation. Hamilton said school officials will meet Monday and determine what action to take.

An acting coach weighs in on the MC’s flair for the dramatic. By Jocelyn Vena Nicki Minaj in her “Moment 4 Life” music video Photo: Young Money / Universal Nicki Minaj is one of the hottest MCs in the game, but in her “Moment 4 Life” video , the singer also shows off her acting abilities, playing her fairy godmother, Martha, and a Roman-inspired, Cinderella-like version of herself. The New York native does have a background in drama, having attended New York’s famous LaGuardia High School, and now it seems she’s putting some of that training to good use. So how do her skills rate? “I think she has a great personality that comes through; very vibrant. I love her energy. I love her rapping ability,” said Roger Del Pozo, assistant director of admissions at New York Film Academy, who helps handle acting auditions for the school. “As an actress, probably not that subtle, but I don’t think that subtlety is going to be her strong point anyways.” Nicki may be a skilled MC, sharpening her acting chops, and Del Pozo offered her some advice: “She should probably be trying to be a little more natural, a little more realistic; it’s a little over-the-top,” he said. “I’d like to see her a little more subtle, trusting the camera a little bit more.” Of the two characters she plays in the clip, Del Pozo has a favorite: “I think I like the Nicki Minaj character, ’cause she’s cuter and you see her natural energy come through a little more,” he said. “I think she’s funny and she’s very expressive. With the right material, she would do a good job. Her straight acting ability, I’d probably give her a 6, and as a just a performer in general, I’d probably give her a 9 or a 10.” In an exclusive interview following the premiere of “Moment 4 Life,” Nicki called acting her “favorite part of the video” and explained why Roman is her favorite character to play. “I think I started liking Roman more because everybody else liked Roman,” she said. “Everybody wanted to see what outlandish thing he would say next. Justin Bieber and Ozzy Osborne team up for Superbowl Commercial

Justin Bieber has filmed a commercial for the upcoming superbowl. Justin’s commercial is a midgame ad for Best Buy, co’starring Ozzy Osbourne. The ad will be the electronics chain’s first-ever Super Bowl commercial, and the 30-second shot will air during the third quarter of the game. Details are being kept under wraps, though a photo of the Biebs and Ozzy, dressed decidedly Tron-like, has been released. The shoot took place Jan. 17 at Universal Studios, and while on set Bieber tweeted out something of a tease. “Can’t really say what I’m up to today but when u guys find out its gonna be funny as heck #todaywasepic,” he wrote. The commercial will be the first of many for Justin Bieber and Best Buy, as he’s due to appear in several more ads through the year. An expert told USA Today the teen star is likely pocketing in excess of $1 million for the gig.

‘Glee’ Star Lea Michele To Sing At Super Bowl Pre-Game

News confirmed Friday (January 28) that “Glee” starlet Lea Michele will be on hand to serve up even more entertainment for the big game, which takes place February 6 at Cowboys Stadium in North Texas. Before the NFL showdown begins, the 24-year-old actress/singer will perform her rendition of “America the Beautiful” during pre-game festivities. The championship battle between the Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers also will feature Aguilera, who will take duties belting out the national anthem , and the Black Eyed Peas , who’ll perform during the halftime show. If the Gleek’s performance doesn’t curb your appetite, just sit tight after the game to see even more of the songstress during the highly anticipated return of “Glee.” The sports-themed episode will include contemporary covers of Michael Jackson, the Black Eyed Peas, Lady Antebellum and Katy Perry. And what would Super Bowl Sunday be without the highly coveted TV spots? In partnership with Best Buy, Justin Bieber and Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne have teamed up for a space-age commercial for the retail chain. Justin Bieber Super Bowl ad to plug Best Buy

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) — This year’s Super Bowl broadcast will feature star-studded ads, with Justin Bieber and Ozzy Osbourne teaming up for a Best Buy spot, and with Kim Kardashian headlining an ad for Skechers. Teen crooner Justin Bieber will star in Best Buy’s (BBY, Fortune 500) first-ever Super Bowl ad on Feb. 6, when the Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Green Bay Packers for the biggest football game of the year. Best Buy confirmed that he’ll be co-starring with the venerable heavy metal front man and reality TV star Osbourne, but didn’t provide details of how the two would be co-pitching electronics in the 30-second spot. “We’re delighted to have Justin and Ozzy help us tell the Best Buy story,” said Drew Panayiotou, senior vice president of U.S. marketing at Best Buy. “We know people have high expectations for these ads, and Justin and Ozzy add a whole new dimension of fun.” Meanwhile, Skechers (SKX) has recruited reality TV star Kardashian for a 30-second spot in which she’ll pitching Shape-ups. That’s a type of shoe that “simulates walking in sand” to burn extra calories for people who don’t have time to work out, according to Leonard Armato, president of Skechers Fitness Group. “The reason Kim is a perfect brand fit for Skechers Shape-ups is that she is an extraordinarily huge celeb and her life is as busy as it gets,” said Armato. “Between her reality show, her appearance and the fast-paced social scene that she travels in, she’s time starved.” A sneak peek at Super Bowl ads In the ad, Kardashian will “be breaking someone’s heart in front of 100 million” viewers, Armato said. Other Super Bowl ad celebrities include workout taskmaster Jillian Michaels, who will appear in a GoDaddy spot with race car driver Danica Patrick, and country singer Faith Hill, who will appear in a Teleflora spot. Fox will be broadcasting the game, which is scheduled to be played in Arlington, Texas.
