Race Matters: 13 Dark-Skinned NY Parks Department Employees Paid $165,000 Settlements For Being Transferred From Their Positions For Light-Skinned And White Folks!

Dark-skinned, light-skinned, Asian, and White women… Parks Department Workers Paid $165,000 Settlement For Racist Transfer Practices Via NYDailyNews The city will pay thousands of dollars to dark-skinned Parks Department workers who claim they were transferred out of tony Battery Park City in favor of white and light-skinned staffers amid threats and veiled complaints that they were too aggressive. The workers filed a discrimination suit after the March 2011 transfers — which came after months of escalating tensions between the mostly minority agents and some residents of the ritzy enclave. Racist signs and graffiti calling the Public Enforcement Patrol officers “thugs,” “pigs” and “n—–s” started popping up on benches and walls, according to the suit filed by 13 workers. The Parks Department wrongfully transferred eight dark-skinned workers out and brought in eight white, Asian or light-skinned Hispanics after the Battery Park City Authority — a private trust that pays the city $2 million for 31 PEP workers on its 32 acres — complained that some officers were too aggressive in ticketing residents, the suit charged. Residents of the waterfront neighborhood were pleased when PEP workers ticketed visitors — but annoyed when they got tickets for the same petty violations, said Charles St. Louis, a retired NYPD officer and PEP agent who is a plaintiff in the suit. What part of the game is THAT?! The city admitted no wrongdoing in the February agreement of $165,000 — $8,000 to each of the dark-skinned workers, plus the same payment to the replacement workers, who charged they were unwittingly put in the middle of a hostile situation. One black worker, George Parker, 62, will get a payment of $14,000 because a white resident went after him in a fury after another park worker questioned why his dog was off-leash. “I’ve been around a bit in my time, even Birmingham, Ala., and I’ve not seen much that was as bad as Battery Park City,” said Parker. “I got a lot of ‘I pay your salary’ and ‘You work for me’ when I tried to enforce the rules.” PEP worker Keshun Anderson, 40, said she was once called a “f—ing n—–” by the white resident who fought with Parker. And people still have the nerve to call this a “post-racial America” Sheeeeeeeeeeeit…SMMFH Image via Facebook

Robin Thicke featuring Emily Ratakowski Dancing Nude is the Music Video of the Day

I have facial recognition blindness, so I am not sure if this babe is my favorite girl in the game, who is always naked, with awesome tits, dancing around topless, in their Youtube Video, a Youtube video that for some reason hasn’t been deleted, even though when I post a video of a girl doing squats in tight pants, I get deleted. Life isn’t fair. When you’re dad is the host of “Win Lose or Draw Canada’ in the early 90s, the brain behind such TV theme songs as most of them, and the dad from Growing Pains, you get away with murder. Or maybe Youtube considers it is art, I know I do, at least if it means seeing hot busty babes dancing around topless, and as far as I’m concerned, whether this is Emily Ratakowski or not, I think it is, and that’s all that matters…. and her titty dance. as far as I’m concerned is just her practicing for our first dance at our wedding…No, not for a future working in a strip club. She’s just too good to be ignored. A talent I write love songs for. I’m glad she’s getting out there…by putting her titties out there…cuz things that look like this can’t be ignored…the song however can be if it’s not your thing, just click “mute” Safe to say, one of the best videos ever, all it took was titties.

Bossip Giveaway: 42 – Celebrate an American Legend Sweepstakes

All our Bossip baseball fans, you have an opportunity to win a trip for two to Kansas City for 2 nights to attend the red carpet screening of “42″, the film about Jackie Robinson. Check out the trailer: Hero is a word we hear often in sports, but heroism is not always about achievements on the field of play. “42” tells the story of two men—the great Jackie Robinson and legendary Brooklyn Dodgers GM Branch Rickey—whose brave stand against prejudice forever changed the world by changing the game of baseball. In 1946, Branch Rickey (Harrison Ford) put himself at the forefront of history when he signed Jackie Robinson (Chadwick Boseman) to the team, breaking Major League Baseball’s infamous color line. But the deal also put both Robinson and Rickey in the firing line of the public, the press and even other players. Facing unabashed racism from every side, Robinson was forced to demonstrate tremendous courage and restraint by not reacting in kind, knowing that any incident could destroy his and Rickey’s hopes. Instead, Number 42 let his talent on the field do the talking—ultimately winning over fans and his teammates, silencing his critics, and paving the way for others to follow. We have the ultimate flyaway! In addition to the trip  for two to Kansas City for the Red Carpet Screening, the grand prize winner will also receive 2 passes to the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, two tickets to a Kansas City Royals baseball game, 2 t-shirts, baseball caps, seat cushions, lapel pins, bags, and 1 poster! Even if you don’t win the grand prize, you have 9 other opportunities to win. Each 1st place winner will receive one 42 film t-shirt, baseball cap, seat cushion, lapel pin, movie poster, and 2 Hollywood Movie Money certificates to see 42. Now, it’s time for the contest. All you have to do is answer the question in the box below and you are entered to win. Answer the question:  Jackie Robinson began his professional baseball career as a member of what Negro Leagues team? Contest ends April 2nd at noon.  Winner will be contacted that day and we have to hear back within 24 hours so all arrangements can be made.

Jesus Take The Guns Wheel: 16-Year-Old Florida Boy Mistakenly Shoots And Kills 12-Year-Old Brother Thinking He Was An Intruder

This is so sad. According to WFTV: Police said a teen mistakenly sho t his 12-year-old brother, killing him, inside their Lake Nona home Friday afternoon. The shooting happened on Portafino Drive in the Nona Crest Subdivision in Orange County. According to investigators, the shooting was accidental. Authorities said the two brothers were home alone, when the older boy feared an intruder was inside the house and grabbed a gun. “He heard some noises and he called out for his brother and he didn’t answer and so then his brother startled him,” said Orlando Police Department Detective Mike Moreschi. Detectives said the 16-year-old shot and struck his brother, then realized the tragic mistake and called 911. A police spokesman said the 12-year-old was taken to Arnold Palmer Hospital where he died. “He’s devastated, obviously. His parents are devastated by what happened and it’s just a really bad situation for the family,” Moreschi said. Police said the 16-year-old won’t be charged in the shooting, but the State Attorney’s office will review the case to look for possible negligence. The gun was legally owned. It’s unclear where the gun was located inside the home or if it was locked up. Crime scene investigators were on scene Friday night to process the house. Neighbors said the family has lived in the neighborhood for less than a year. “My heart goes out to the family and I will keep them in my prayers,” said Ikwueme. This is why parents who keep guns in their homes need to take the proper precautions to prevent accidents like this from happening. WFTV

For Discussion: BeyBey Asks Women To ‘Bow Down,’ Is She Suffering From A Mid-Life/Career Identity Crisis?

Is BeyBey losing her identity?? Is Beyonce Having A Career Identity Crisis Via The Grio reports: I’m writing about Beyoncé today because I can’t avoid her. Earlier this week, she released a new song on the Internet, “Bow Down/I Been On,” and since then, every major site I frequent, from trashy blogs to high brow news, is talking about her and her new song. Is it disrespectful to fans? Just fun? Hypocritical? The jury is still out. Rush Limbaugh, single-handedly the last person I expected to weigh in on these matters , interpreted the song, in which Beyoncé instructs “b***hes” to “bow down,” to mean Beyoncé has turned in her feminist card. “(Her older) songs were attempts to inspire young women not to take any grief from men,” Limbaugh said. “She’s done a 180… Because she married a rich guy . . . she now understands it’s worth it to bow down.” Admittedly, the lyrics could have many interpretations. I am positive this is not one of them. Singer Keyshia Cole also weighed in, not so unexpectedly as she’s been on a Twitter rampage lately. (She blasted former Destiny’s Child Michelle Williams after her DC reunion performance at the Super Bowl.) “First ‘Women need to stick together’ now [b***hes] better Bow. Smh,” Cole tweeted on Monday. “Can’t stand when people [are] all self-righteous when it’s convenient… but can still talk s–t when convenient [too].” Given Cole’s most recent salty behavior on social media, her opinion didn’t carry the weight it should have. The thing is, Cole’s got a point. Beyoncé has built her entire career on feel-good sisterhood lyrics — from “Independent Women” to “Who Run This World” — set to infectious beats. Her songs became the unofficial soundtrack to Middle America’s Girl’s Night Out where women celebrated whatever the occasion is in “freek’um dresses,” patting their weaves and mimicking the dance routine from the “Single Ladies” video at the club. In interview after interview, Beyoncé has extolled the virtues of having female friends. She even hired an all-girl band to drive home her all-girl-power-everything message. And this is why it seems so… jarring, really, for Beyoncé, after 15 years in the game, to start calling fellow women “b***hes” and demanding that they “bow down” like they are her lowly subjects. Discuss…
