Folk in the British catering industry have criticised plans for a US fast food chain to be the official food brand of London's 2012 Olympics. It is believed McDonald's will be the sole brand and, as it's not British nor is it considered healthy, that it is unsuitable for Britain's hosting of the world's greatest sporting event.

A Japanese Nintendo DS game pirate has been sentenced to 2.5 years in prison and given a nearly $100,000 USD fine, after being convicted of making 1000 ROMs of DS games available for download. The man, Yoshiaki Asagiri, was arrested in late 2008 and was charged with “distributing games online without permission” and the “breaking of Japanese copyright law,” says Kotaku

MTV Games and Harmonix have announced that they plan to start the Rock Band Network next month, which will allow indie musicians to add their music to the popular instrument game. Cnet says that “to program songs for the game, you need a membership to Microsoft’s XNA Creators’ Club, which was launched a couple years ago to let independent developers create casual games to sell through the Xbox Live Marketplace; a membership costs $49.99 for four months or $99.99 for a year.” Once you have an account, log in and you will be greeted with instructions and free tools to create master recordings. The songs will then be submitted for critique from other creators and MTV Games for final official approval.
