Christopher Morgan Blasts Gay Rumors From Kenya Moore Kim Fields already issued her own epic clapback at Kenya Moore for insinuating that her husband Christopher Morgan is a down-low brother-lover, and that it’s widely known and spoken about in their D-list Hollywood circles . However, Chris himself has remained pretty mum on Kenya’s comments about his sexuality up to this point. In a recent sit-down with E!online , Chris finally revealed why he didn’t speak up and where those rumors actually came from… It’s interesting. When someone spreads lies about you, you can either go at them in a defensive manner and be seen as defensive, or you can just let a lie be a lie. And she kind of put me in the middle with that situation because how I would handle that situation without the entire world watching is different than I would when someone spreads a lie about you in front of the nation and world. So, I felt immediately it was going to be important for me, at some time, to set the record straight that she had fabricated the entire conversation. There is no one in the industry that calls me anything other than my name, especially to my face. Kimmy and I weren’t together in the Living Single days. So, she had to stretch pretty far to get that. [Kenya claims she first learned of the rumors surrounding Chris when she guest starred on Kim’s Fox sitcom, which ran from 1993-1998. Only problem? Kim was married to someone else at the time. She didn’t marry Chris until 2007.] Now, I understand, I’m a Broadway performer without a real name, as far as Hollywood goes, and when Kim and I first got together, there was all kinds of speculation about me. Was I a deadbeat? Was I broke? Was I a drug addict? Was I a homosexual? There were all kind of rumors about me because nobody knew who this guy was dating, and eventually marrying, Kim Fields. She basically took that speculation, one aspect of it, and ran with it. Chris also says that Kenya’s lie was offensive, insinuating that because he sings and dances, clearly he must be gay — or that Broadway is a profession only for “whimsical” men. But at the end of the day, she’s only hurting herself since she claims to be such a cornerstone of the entertainment industry… It’s funny. Kenya says a lot of things that are insulting. Some of them she means, and some of them she doesn’t. The problem is she doesn’t really know. Now, speaking specifically to this point, again, being in the industry that I’m in, being the person that I am, without judgements on anyone’s personal life, I have a lot of people in my life, a lot of friends in my life, a lot of colleagues in my life that are homosexuals. I love them dearly as the people that they are. I know that they were offended by the statements made. And it’s disappointing to me that someone would make such reckless statements without thinking of the true repercussions of it. What I mean by the true repercussions of it is, the man who’s your boss, you just labeled as weak or inept or unable or lesser than. And I think that’s pretty thoughtless and stupid, if you ask me, honestly. And she’s going to have to deal with Andy Cohen on that. She’s going to have to deal with a bunch of the other people that are above her on that. She’s going to have to deal with the quote-unquote industry that in her mind loves her so much over that. And that’s not my business, that’s hers. I did not dig that hole. Well, it seems as if Kenya’s retelling of the rumors wasn’t COMPLETELY fabricated, since Chris says it’s not the first time someone has leveled gay speculation his way. Manny Pacquiao Says Gay People Are Worse Than Animals Boxing star Manny Pacquiao apologized today for stating that gay relationships were as “worse than animals” but stands by his opposition to same-sex marriage according to ESPN reports: Fellow Filipino celebrities were among those criticizing his remarks, made when a TV network asked candidates about their views on same-sex marriage. “It’s just common sense,” Pacquiao said in the remarks posted online by the TV5 network. “Have you seen any animal having male-to-male or female-to-female relations?” Animals, he said, were better because they recognize gender differences, and “if you have male-to-male or female-to-female [relationships], then people are worse than animals.” Among those who reacted strongly was popular gay comedian and TV host Jose Marie Viceral, known as Vice Ganda. Vice Ganda tweeted that lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgenders are humans, not animals. He said that they’re not saints but that they’ll pray for the boxer, who is widely acclaimed for bringing his country honors. Vice Ganda posted a picture of Pope Francis, suggesting that even the beloved leader of the Roman Catholic church does not condemn gays. The “Empire” star recently sat down with “Out” magazine to speak on his journey into stardom and accolades since landing the role of Jamal. He also made a point to confirm ( once again ) that he’s indeed gay—who could possibly fall in love with a woman. He tells OUT: “I am a gay man with an extremely open heart,” he says, easy and assured until he’s asked to elaborate on what that means to him. “God, I’ve never had to talk about this, so I’m trying to find the words. If I had to label myself, I would label myself as a gay man. With that said, I believe that love is the only thing that matters, and I would hope that anybody would leave themselves open — not to gender, but to love. I would hope that people would not close themselves off from what could be if, lo and behold, you meet somebody that just sweeps you off your feet, and you just can’t do anything about it. If we truly believe that we are born this way, then why do we try to stifle the way we were born? If I fall in love down the road with a woman, I’m going to love that woman.” On his words being misconstrued: “I’m sure that those words will be misconstrued,” he says, because if there’s one thing he’s learned this year, it’s how easily that can happen. “But this is a conversation that deserves to be had, because we don’t all understand each other. Mom Celebrates Son’s Coming Out With Ad In Paper A mom showed support for her homosexual son coming out as gay with an ad in the newspaper earlier this week. The woman says she wanted to show her son and her city that she was proud of him for living his truth — partially in protest of the city voting against a recently proposed bill that would have legally prohibited discrimination based on sexual orientation , gender identity and 13 other characteristics. Via TexasObserver : Readers of the Houston Chronicle may have noticed an unusual advertisement in the “Celebrations” section of Sunday’s edition. The ad consisted of an announcement from unidentified parents saying their teenage son, “Drake,” had come out as gay. Drake was pictured in the ad but identified only by his first name. Thanks to some cyber-sleuthing, the Observer determined that the teen in the ad is Drake Wilson, a senior who serves as student body vice president at Snohomish High School in Washington state. Joan Wilson, Drake’s mother, said Tuesday that she placed the ad in response to the defeat of Houston’s Equal Rights Ordinance (HERO) in November. “I couldn’t think of a better place than Houston, out of the entire country, where they needed to hear my message of pride,” Joan Wilson said, adding that she believes her son was born gay and created by God. “My announcement was my way of humanizing the issue.” We can’t believe the city voted IN FAVOR of discrimination being legal! NFL Gets First Full Time Female Coach Big strides were made in the sports world today , as the first woman was placed in a full-time coaching position with the Buffalo Bills. Via CBSnews : A New York state sports team made history on Wednesday. As CBS2’s Steve Overmyer reported, the NFL coaching fraternity has officially crossed gender lines. The Buffalo Bills hired the NFL’s first female, full-time coach. Kathryn Smith will be the Bills’ special teams quality control coach. Smith spent twelve seasons in the Jets organization before following Rex Ryan to Buffalo. “She certainly deserves this promotion based on her knowledge and strong commitment,” Ryan said in a statement. CBS affiliate WIVB-TV, Buffalo reported Smith started her career as an intern with the Jets before spending time as a player personnel assistant, and assistant to the head coach. The move comes as part of a new wave of gender progress in men’s professional sports. Just months ago the Arizona Cardinals hired Jen Welter as a temp coach in the off-season.
