Selena Gomez Laughs Off Calling Justin Bieber Her ‘Little Brother’

‘It’s a great thing to say, huh?’ Gomez says on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show.’ By Jocelyn Vena Selena Gomez on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” Photo: Warner Bros. Selena Gomez isn’t usually forthcoming with details when she talks about her beau, Justin Bieber. So when she stopped by ” The Ellen DeGeneres Show ” for an appearance airing Tuesday (March 22), the talk-show host took it upon herself to remind the teen star that she once referred to her now-boyfriend as her “little brother.” DeGeneres played an old clip in which Gomez says, “He’s little. He’s like my little brother.” After seeing the clip, Gomez joked, “Don’t take me to jail! It’s a great thing to say, huh? I don’t know [what to say].” She giggled as DeGeneres said, “You were trying to hide it still, right? But now you’ve made it public … You went to the Vanity Fair [Oscar night] party [together] and made me a fool.” “I promise you, I didn’t,” Gomez told the talk show host. “He’s just sweet.” “He is,” DeGeneres went on to say. “He’s sweet as can be. But he’s not like your little brother, is he? No, he’s not. And he’s a fantastic guy. You can’t try to hide that forever. I know you all were sneaking around, but that’s crazy. You’re both huge stars, and you can’t hide from us.” “I didn’t lie to you. I didn’t, though. I’ll say that,” Gomez said, adding that it “would be weird” to date her “little brother.” DeGeneres had a special gift for Gomez to help keep Justin close while they’re apart: a pillow with Bieber’s face on it. “He’s gonna make me sleep with this every night,” Gomez said. Sure, Gomez may have called Bieber her little brother during a chat with Ellen last fall, but that wasn’t the first time she referred to him that way. Back in February 2010, Gomez echoed similar sentiments to MTV News . “I love Justin. When he first started to come over from Canada, his manager contacted me and he just said that he would like to meet me and he was just such a good kid,” she explained. “And I feel like a big sister now, ’cause I want to protect him. So I’m always very cautious with him, but he is so talented and he’s so sweet, so that just started us wanting to work together. Now he’s just become one of my good friends.” Related Photos Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez: A Look Back In Photos Related Artists Selena Gomez

‘Jersey Shore’ Star Snooki Talks Hangover Cures, Ditching Pouf

Reality star tells ‘Ellen’ hard partying has sometimes left her asking, ‘Why did I wake up in a garbage can?’ By Eric Ditzian Snooki on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Wednesday Photo: Warner Bros. Ellen DeGeneres’ bond with “Jersey Shore” star Snooki stretches back to last February, when the comedian first welcomed the reality star onto her talk show. The following month, while assessing a particularly memorable “American Idol” performance , the ex-judge remarked to a contestant, “Like Snooki’s pouf, you just stand out.” Later in the year, Ellen dressed up as that pouf for Halloween, and on Wednesday’s (January 5) episode of the “Ellen” show — she joked that she’d finally taken down her pumpkin-themed holiday decorations — the host welcomed Snickers back onto the program for a chat. Their conversation veered from the reality star’s signature hairstyle to what we can expect from new “Shore” episodes to her hard-partying ways. “If I am hung over, the best cure is to drink margaritas the morning of, and you’re fine,” she said. “Or mimosas with your eggs. “I want to remember my night, and sometimes I just don’t,” she added. “It sucks. So you’re like, ‘What did I do? Why did I wake up in a garbage can?’ ” So, um, how often do such things happen? “Once a month,” she joked, before saying that she’s toned down her drinking recently. Snooki has also made a commitment to get into shape, showing Ellen some workout moves and saying of two oversize exercise balls, “These are big balls.” Shaping up and saying no to those extra late-night vodka shots aren’t the only changes coming to Snooki’s life. She’s also ditched the pouf, opting for a straight, bang-bedecked hairdo. “I’m so over it,” she said. Before saying goodbye to Ellen, Snooki explained a little of what’s coming down the line on “Jersey Shore” this season. “The new season is insane,” she said. “We’ll fight one minute and then the next minute we’ll be like, ‘You want a shot?’ We’re fine. It’s so weird. I think that’s how brothers and sisters are like, minus the hookups.” The new season of MTV’s “Jersey Shore” premieres Thursday at 10 p.m. ET on MTV.

Adam Lambert in Wichita: Glam Nation Videos, Performances Galore!

Sign of the Apocalypse: Charice Undergoes Botox for Glee Role

Charice Pempengco is 18 years old. She’s already a successful singer, having received a major career boost from appearing on The Oprah Winfrey Show and The Ellen DeGeneres Show . This fall, she’ll recur on season two of Glee . But Charice – who, it bears repeating, is 18 years old! – feels enough pressure from Hollywood to have undergone a skin-tightening procedure last week, along with Botox meant to make her face look rounder. Speaking in the third person, the singer told ABS-CBN television earlier this summer: “All people will be anticipating how will Charice look? Is she good enough to pit against Rachel Berry? So of course there is tremendous pressure.” For that reason, we don’t blame Charice for this depressing piece of news. We do wonder what advice her parents gave, but an 18-year old undergoing plastic surgery is more reflective of society than anything. When every other tabloid cover features Kim Kardashian in a bikini , bragging about her weight loss and figure, what message do you think it sends teenage girls? ** UPDATE: Charice’s rep confirms the procedure, but says it was “to relieve a jaw problem similar to TMJ.”

Simon Cowell Bids Farewell To ‘American Idol’ On ‘Ellen’

Controversial judge tells DeGeneres that her ‘sitting in my lap, blowing in my ear … felt really good!’ By Kara Warner Simon Cowell on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ Photo: Warner Bros. It’s the beginning of a bittersweet week for love-to-hate-him “American Idol” judge, Simon Cowell. Though he doesn’t take his final “Idol” bow until the show’s season finale Wednesday night, Cowell admitted to fellow judge Ellen DeGeneres on her talk show Tuesday (May 25) that he is both happy and sad to be leaving. “It’s kind of exciting,” Cowell told DeGeneres. “I’m not being ungrateful, I’ve had a fantastic time, the show changed my life. But I just kind of knew that it was time to do something different.” DeGeneres then asked Cowell, whom she called “a joy to work with” on “Idol,” if he’s been especially joyful throughout this season because he is leaving. “I haven’t thought about it like that! I don’t know, I’ve just felt a little bit happier, full stop. Maybe it is that, but when you’re in this position you start remembering all the great times you’ve had. We’ve had a blast over the years.” Cowell said he’s most proud and grateful that the show has stayed on the air for so long and that he’s become friends with the cast and crew. “We’ve all hopefully retained a sense of humor, nobody’s changed too much — with the exception of Ryan [Seacrest], who’s turned into a bit of a monster, but that was always going to happen. We’ve become friends and that’s quite rare with people you work with.” Amid several pre-taped gags that depicted various exaggerated behind-the-scene antics (one depicted a Cowell-double reaching over to touch an Ellen-double’s hands repeatedly during an assumed “Idol” taping), Cowell revealed one surprising Ellen-related warm fuzzy. “There was one time where you were sitting in my lap, blowing in my ear,” Cowell recalled. “I’ve got to tell you it felt really good. You’re very good at that. I’m going to stop myself there — I’m going to be in trouble.” To which DeGeneres quickly responded: “You can’t help it, you’re attracted to beautiful women.” Ellen then sent Cowell away with a parting gift — an alarm clock that plays Seacrest’s famous “And this, is American Idol!” phrase when its button is pressed. Robert Pattinson Talks New Haircut And Ballet On ‘Ellen’

‘Twilight’ star reveals that new ‘do is for his role in the movie ‘Water for Elephants.’ By Josh Wigler Robert Pattinson on “Ellen” Wednesday Photo: Warner Bros. If you’ve grown attached to Robert Pattinson’s signature hairstyle, you’re in for a bit of a surprise. When the 24-year-old “Twilight” star appeared on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Wednesday (May 19), he showed off his brand-new look: a trimmed-down, shorter haircut. Asked by Ellen why he decided to cut his hair, Pattinson jokingly replied: “I got a terrible infestation of nits, and I had to shave it all off.” After Ellen informed the actor that “nits” are actually called “head lice” in the United States, she gently encouraged him not to “start that rumor.” “No, I’m doing a film,” he revealed of the real reason behind his haircut. Pattinson will star in “Water for Elephants,” a movie based on the novel by Sara Gruen about a college dropout and his experience as an animal caretaker for a traveling circus in the 1930s. Reese Witherspoon and Christoph Waltz co-star, and shooting begins this week. After he discussed the movie, Ellen asked Pattinson if he feels more comfortable actually acting than discussing the craft of acting in interviews, suggesting that the “Twilight” star is shy in real life. “I just like doing things where you have a little time to think about what you’re saying,” he confessed. “I’ve always had a problem actually thinking [in real time] before I open my mouth.” But Pattinson wasn’t bashful when asked about his experience as a dancer earlier in his life. “I did ballet when I was 10,” he revealed to cheers from the audience. “Then I realized that I was a guy, and I was the only guy in the class,” he laughed. “When you’re the only guy in your black leotard and your black jeans dancing to the ‘Batman’ theme tune, when everyone else is doing proper ballet, it only lasts so long. You can’t really go past 10!” What do you think of Rob’s new haircut? Let us know in the comments!
