By Tinsel Korey Tinsel Korey [Editor’s Note]: In response to the crisis in Haiti, the world’s top stars came together Friday (January 22) for the one-of-a-kind telethon “Hope for Haiti Now.” Pitching in alongside Robert Pattinson and her other co-stars, “Twilight Saga” actress Tinsel Korey was eager to help in any way she could. Earlier, Tinsel published her plea for donations in an exclusive piece written for MTV.

By Jayson Rodriguez John Legend Photo: Hope For Haiti Now/ Getty Seated alone at his piano, isolated and with no extravagant or theatrical production equipment behind him, John Legend delivered a stirring version of “Motherless Child” during the “Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief” telethon. The song is derived from the classic Negro spiritual, “Sometimes I Feel Like a Motherless Child,” which dates back some 200 years ago.

By Gil Kaufman Louiny Fontal broadcasts from Port-au-Prince Photo: Nicholas Kamm/ Getty Images While the world tweets, texts and blogs about the aftermath of last Tuesday’s 7.0 earthquake in Haiti, the massive destruction of the island’s infrastructure has left many Haitians scrambling to communicate with and find loved ones. Cell-phone service has been spotty on the impoverished Caribbean island nation, and even those lucky enough to still have mobile phones that work are having trouble finding a way to charge the devices due to the massive power outages.
