Attendees at the San Diego County Fair spent the weekend flooding social media sites with photos of the Krispy Kreme Sloppy Joe… and then dialing 911 to report their heart attacks, we’d have to imagine. The item – which seriously does exist – places Sloppy Joe meat between two halves of a Krispy Kreme Glazed donut . It is then wrapped in bacon and deep-fried and slid over a stick for easy eating. Other menu delicacies at the event included fried Kool-Aid balls and fried Klondike bars. We think we’re gonna be ill. Let’s all go ogle some Kate Upton photos to feel better.
Gerard Butler is a man of many interesting talents. He proved this and then some on a visit to the German talk show Wetten, dass..? First, he found himself imitating his guest, a professional nut cracker. He decided, hilariously, to try to crack nuts with his rear end – one of his best features – but could only break two of them and could not stop laughing. The host then recalled an anecdote Butler once offered regarding pouring ice down his pants during a sweltering movie shoot, and begged him to reenact it. Reluctantly, Butler obliged. Olympus Has Fallen features an almost 30-minute assault on The White House, and producer/star Gerard Butler says the extended siege wasn’t to show off. “You’re not going to take over one of the most defended buildings in the world in 30 seconds,” he told me. “There’s a version of that, but that’s not our movie.” And with such an intense scene, where do Butler and director Antoine Fuqua stand on the current controversy over special effects houses in Hollywood feeling underappreciated? “It’s tough,” empathizes Fuqua. “The visual effects, they deserve a lot of credit because, y’know, we get to go to worlds and see things you can never ever do. So, there are extremely creative people in these houses that deserve just as much respect as everyone else. They’re a part of the team.” I also spoke to Aaron Eckhart , who co-stars as the president. Did he ever imagine that with all the smarmy characters he’s played, one of the most earnest would be a politician? “Well I like that!” Eckhart laughs. “I expect the politicians — my politicians, I’ll say — to be honest and…trustworthy and truthful…so that’s kind of what I wanted to portray in this character here.” But that doesn’t mean Olympus Has Fallen is all hugs and kisses. It’s surprisingly violent — and enacting that violence took its toll on the cast. Rick Yune, who plays the film’s villain, confesses that co-star Dylan McDermott accidentally burned Butler’s face with a cigarette. Miley Cyrus is yet to directly address rumors of a Liam Hemsworth split , but the singer has posted two new photos on Twitter that appear to make the point on their own. Ignore that adorable onesie for a moment and check out Miley’s left ring finger, folks. Yes, that’s a 3.5 carat engagement ring. Adding fuel to the break up fire for Cyrus and Hemsworth had been that Miley was spotted out this month without her engagement ring . But the star claimed it was simply in for repairs – and she looks to have been telling the truth. Will this photo put to bed talk that Miley and Liam are not still headed to the altar? We doubt it. But maybe it will lead to more celebrities posing in onesies. Those things are pretty darn cute.
Newly-single possible U.S. Senate candidate and Olympus Has Fallen actress Ashley Judd sure knows how to make an entrance, doesn’t she? The 44-year-old wore a low-cut, skin-tight teal Herve Leger dress that accentuated her enviable figure, stunning onlookers (and co-star Gerard Butler). Judd and Dario Franchitti, 39, announced their decision to split in late January, saying they will “always be family” but were still ending their 10-year marriage. Shortly thereafter, rumors began circulating that the Democratic activist would challenge Mitch McConnell, Republican Minority Leader, for U.S. Senate. For now, though, she’s doing what she does best, turning heads at Hollywood’s Lure nightclub and drawing attention to her latest mediocre film. What do you think? Should she run for office?
Brandi Glanville was asked last night about Gerard Butler’s admission that they did in fact get it on, and she had nothing but nice things to say. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star appeared on Watch What Happens Live when the conversation turned to Butler’s comments on Howard Stern. Despite denying he knew who she was, Butler now admits they did bone. Brandi appreciates that, and feels bad about bringing it up in the first place. “We had a little texting today, and I think he’s a doll and I feel bad for what I said,” the reality star says of dishing their bedroom rendezvous last year. “He is lovely and I appreciate him making it right.” Brandi also weighed in on other topics, such as: LeAnn Rimes ‘ reaction to her book. “She said there’s a lot of lies. Clearly she got an early copy! There’s not, otherwise I would have lawyers, letters and whatnot. I don’t know … this is the last time I want to speak poorly about her, and I can say bad things about everyone!” Chelsea Handler dissing her and the Housewives last week: “Chelsea, suck it! We know each other, we have the same gay-gent … I made out with her lesbian friend and her assistant and her brother, so she hates me.” The haters of her Oscar dress : “Dear all of you, I really don’t care what you think. I love the dress, and the fact that, I, Brandi Glanville, made any Oscar list, it’s freaking amazing. You’re talking about me, it’s the Oscars, guess what? Yay! I win! Gerard Butler has come clean. By admitting to a very dirty deed: he had sex with Brandi Glanville. In August 2011, a tabloid reported that Butler slept with The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, though he was later asked by a TMZ cameraman about it and famously responded: Who’s Brandi Glanville? Butler didn’t know Glanville’s last name or her occupation when they got it on at that shindig. He did eventually piece everything together, however, and even called Brandi Glanville to apologize (and to berate her for going public with their dalliance).
