Gerard Butler may have reportedly dated his Bounty Hunter co-star Jennifer Aniston , but he has revealed that he is now single. The Scots actor donned a kilt imprinted with Ellen DeGeneres’ face as he appeared on the cheeky comedienne’s US talk show today and when asked by DeGeneres whether he is currently single, a smiling Butler, 40, simply replied, “Yes.” Um, that “smiling” confession doesn’t sound like he’s admitting anything.

Gerard Butler says he’s slowly losing his Scottish accent by doing Hollywood roles. The actor appeared on David Letterman’s show to promote his new movie The Bounty Hunter , where he plays an American who chases down his ex-wife, played by Jennifer Aniston . Butler, 40, told Letterman that it was a struggle at first to speak like someone born in the States and he had to stay in character even off set. Now the actor says he has become so used to the American tongue that his voice has changed. “It’s kind of rubbed off unfortunately, I used to speak a lot deeper but my accent has softened.” Wonder if the ladies will still swoon?

The Bounty Hunter’s Jennifer Aniston has said she hates stars who are grumpy on the set of movies. The 41-year-old actress appears opposite Gerard Butler , 40, in the new movie and when asked by BBC Radio One Newsbeat if she throws on a fit, the actress said no. “No, I pretty much like to work and I’m generally just in a good mood. There was one day we were frustrated – we were having a tough time with the scene – but other than that no. I’m pretty much happy to be here. Whenever you see certain people on sets that are less than good-moody and not well behaved I find it extremely unattractive and I’m not a fan of that behavior.” Wonder if Gerard was ever grumpy on the set?

Aniston initially praised Butler, with whom she has been romantically linked, before telling US TV’s Live With Regis & Kelly that he has quite the sweet-tooth. “He just likes sweets – it’s really kind of cute. Cake – he gets so excited.” If Gerard wants to keep his hunky image, he’ll definitely think twice about grabbing some cupcakes from craft services.

Celebrities certainly have a lot to ask Lady Gaga now that she’s premiered her video for “Telephone,” and “Bounty Hunter” star Gerard Butler wants to know how Gaga would dress him for some special occasions. “What I should wear,” Butler laughed to MTV News about his burning question for Gaga. “I think she’d probably say, ‘Get a life — it’s not happening!’ ” “My Life as Liz” star Liz Lee shared earlier this week that she wants to know just how Gaga thinks up all those crazy things, like the “Telephone” video. “What would I call her about? … I want to know what’s going on in her mind,” Lee told MTV News when she stopped by to chat about the season finale of her show. “Like, where does she come up with this stuff?” It seems that Kellan Lutz also wanted to know all about her wacky train of thought. “Her creativeness,” the “Twilight” star said. “I love to invent stuff, and she’s so inventive. She’s so creative, and I love people who think that way and are very just out-there and don’t care and do whatever.” But perhaps the most intriguing call of all might take place between “Gossip Girl” creator Josh Schwartz and the pop queen.
