Wendy was at The Hobby Center in Houston Saturday night when she apparently tried getting off stage but misjudged the stairs. Lawsuit Claims Nick Gordon Gave Bobbi Kristina Toxic Cocktail An amended lawsuit filed by the late Bobbi Kristina Brown’s conservator alleges that Nick Gordon gave Brown a “toxic cocktail” and then put her face down in a tub of cold water. Via 11 Alive : The original suit was filed on June 24 in Fulton County Superior Court by Brown’s court-appointed conservator Bedelia Hargrove. It accused Gordon of assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and transferring money from her account into his own without authorization. Brown, the 22-year-old daughter of the late Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown, died on July 26 — months after being found unresponsive in the tub of her Roswell home on Jan. 31. Brown never regained consciousness and was moved to hospice care in June. The amended complaint, filed on Friday, adds a wrongful death count. It alleges that around 6 a.m. on Jan. 31, Gordon returned after “being out all-night on a cocaine and drinking binge.” The suit says that Gordon watched camera footage of Brown and listened to her conversations. Gordon and Brown began arguing in the kitchen. The dispute moved to the living and then upstairs to the master bedroom. Gordon allegedly accused Brown of cheating and called her a number of names, the lawsuit alleges. The argument lasted about 30 minutes and then “everything abruptly became quiet.” The lawsuit then says that Gordon “gave Bobbi Kristina a toxic cocktail rendering her unconscious and then put her face down in a tub of cold water causing her to suffer brain damage.” According to the suit, Gordon then came out of the bedroom wearing different clothes than he was wearing in his argument with Bobbi Kristina, got into bed, laid his head on a female guest’s ankle and said, “Now I want a pretty little white girl like you.” About 15 minutes later, a guest at the home went in to check on Brown and found her face down in a tub. A dust pan was at the bottom of the tub, the lawsuit states. Bobbi Kristina unresponsive, unconscious with a swollen mouth and a tooth hanging loosely from her mouth. Gordon allegedly then came into the bathroom, let the water out of the tub and shouted, “Clean up, clean up.” Others, including Gordon, began efforts to resuscitate Brown and called for medical personnel. TMZ has obtained court docs which show on October 21st, the judge in Cook County, IL made Keef an offer he couldn’t refuse — cut a check for $11k to your baby mama and you won’t go to jail. Keef (smartly) forked over the dough … which means cops won’t be ordered to arrest him on sight. But Keef ain’t exactly out of the woods yet — the rapper is due back in court on December 10 to face the music for blowing off mandatory child support hearings earlier this year. If the judge finds Keef to be in contempt, he could be sent back to the slammer … where he’s already been this year (twice!) for drug-related offenses. Drug Kingpin Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman Escapes Prison Again Drug kingpin Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman escaped through a one-mile long tunnel that was dug under the shower space of his prison cell in central Mexico, authorities said Sunday. After security cameras lost sight of Guzman late Saturday, guards went into the cell and found a hole 10 meters (33 feet) deep with a ladder, said National Security Commissioner Monte Alejandro Rubido. The hole led to the huge tunnel with a ventilation and light system, Rubido said, adding that its exit was in a building that was under construction. A motorcycle on a rail system was found in the tunnel and is believed to have been used to transport tools and remove earth from the space, which was 1.7 meters high and around 80 centimeters (2.6 feet) wide. Rubido said 18 prison guards will be interrogated by prosecutors in Mexico City. Until Guzman escaped, Rubido said, “the day had gone on normally and at around 8:00 pm he was given his daily dose of medicine.” The maximum-security prison is located 90 kilometers (55 miles) west of the capital in Mexico State. Guzman had been jailed there since February 2014. It is the second time in 14 years that Guzman has broken out of prison. Alabama Man Dies After Cops Pepper Spray Him A Black man in Tuscaloosa, Alabama died after officers used pepper spray to subdue him when he resisted arrest, police said on Saturday. Via RawStory : Police received a call on Friday night that a man armed with a gun was sitting on a porch at an apartment complex in the city, Tuscaloosa police said in a statement on their Facebook page. Police later identified the man as Anthony Ware, a 35-year-old African-American, the Tuscaloosa News reported on its website. When officers arrived, the man ran into nearby woods and was chased by officers who used the pepper spray before placing him in handcuffs as he resisted arrest, police said. He later collapsed as he was walking out of the woods, police said. Police conduct in the United States has been under scrutiny over the past year after a series of deaths of black men in confrontations with police that have provoked protests over the treatment of minorities by law enforcement. The Tuscaloosa News reported Ware was pursued by six police officers, including at least three white officers as well as a black officer and an Asian-America officer. Police plan to release video of the arrest from a vehicle dash cam and body cameras, Tuscaloosa’s assistant police chief, Ronnie Dunn, told a news conference on Saturday, according to the Tuscaloosa News. Police said they tried to revive Ware when he collapsed and that he was rushed to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The Tuscaloosa County homicide unit will investigate the death, police said. A representative from the Tuscaloosa Police Department did not return calls for further comment. Jason Pierre-Paul Injuries Hand During July 4 Fireworks Accident Jason Pierre-Paul , defensive end for the New York Giants, reportedly injured his hand while lighting fireworks at his Florida home on the night of July 4. Via TIME Mag : The NFL confirmed the incident on Sunday evening, noting that it could “potentially impact Pierre-Paul’s future with the Giants,” but Dan Graziano and Adam Schefter at ESPN later tweeted that his injuries — burns on his palm and three fingers, and possible nerve damage — likely will not prove “career threatening” and that the “prognosis is not terrible.” On Sunday afternoon, as reports of the accident began making the rounds, Deadspin posted a string of tweets from Pierre-Paul’s neighbors documenting a “whole Uhaul van of fireworks” parked outside of his house. Pierre-Paul himself had posted a video to Instagram of himself and his infant son near to what appears to be the van. Pierre-Paul, who turned 26 earlier this year, has played for the Giants since 2010, when he joined the team as the fifteenth overall pick in the NFL draft. His “prodigal talent,” as ESPN described it in 2009, when he was at the University of South Florida, has been an asset to the Giants’ defensive line, in spite of the team’s shaky record overall in the past few years. Gay Pride Recreation Of Iwo Jima Photo Gets Backlash How far can you take gay pride ?? Via NBC Washington : Joe Rosenthal’s historic photograph depicting five Marines and a Navy corpsman raising the flag on Iwo Jima is one of America’s most iconic war-related images. It is also one of the most parodied images, but a recent depiction of the event sparked fury on social media. On June 26, photographer Ed Freeman posted a picture he took more than a decade ago for the cover of Frontiers, a gay magazine, that shows four male models planting a gay pride flag similarly to how the six soldiers planted the flag at Iwo Jima 70 years ago. Freeman’s Facebook post celebrated the U.S. Supreme Court’s landmark decision to allowing same-sex marriage nationwide. “Altering the American flag colors && trying to remake the “Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima” photograph with the gay pride flag is degrading,” one user said. “I get all that gay marriage stuff but to replace the American flag from the iconic Iwo Jima picture, just no,” another post read. Freeman, whose studio is in Los Angeles, told the Post he even received a death threat that he reported to the FBI. “This picture was just a flashpoint for a lot people who are looking for a reason to lash out, so I guess I get to be the whipping boy,” Freeman told the Post about the backlash. “I’m fine with that if that’s what it takes.” The Iwo Jima motif has appeared elsewhere, including to sell beer and promote the Hard Rock Cafe, and its use has been similarly criticized. In 2008, Time magazine was criticized for using an altered version of the Iwo Jima photograph showing soldiers planting a tree. That cover, which was meant to compare the struggle to win the war to the struggle to combat climate change, even drew condemnation from some fellow journalists.
