Source: Gregg DeGuire/WireImage/Caroline McCredie/Getty Images for Fenty Beaut / Getty Rihanna’s Father Responds To News That She Is Suing Him Yesterday we reported that Rihanna is suing her father Ronald Fenty for exploiting the Fenty name to promote his businesses. Today, the folks at OK! spoke to Ronald and he has responded to the news that his daughter wants ALL the litigious smoke. “She is? Suing me? Why would she sue me? It’s my name!” he exclaimed. “She’s never going to sue me — I’ll have to fight it!” It is reported that Ronald and a partner have been using the name to act on Robyn’s behalf without every having permission to do so. “Thing is she doesn’t have the time to deal with all this stuff herself, so it is someone else that will be doing it,” he continued. ”She’s working hard on her album at the moment. I don’t think she’d sue me.” He goes on to say: “This is all news to me. They sent something to Fenty Entertainment, it was a letter from Roc Nation I think, but my lawyer said it was OK. They said they preferred me not to use the name, but they didn’t say I couldn’t.” Sounds like those lawyers were trying to use gentle language with Ronald as a warning out of respect for his role as Rihanna’s father, but, uh…Roc nation ain’t going for anything that will tarnish Rih’s shine. Including daddy dearest.
Source: Jerod Harris/Getty Images / Getty Vince Staples Talks Lifelong Sobriety While the average rapper is out here xan’ed up and leaned out… Vince Staples is among the rare young artists who is completely passing on the liquor and drugs. The Compton rapper spoke about his sobriety in a new GQ article about drug-free musicians, and revealed that he’s been sober his entire life. That’s right…he’s never popped a pill, hit a blunt, sipped on lean or even had a single drop to drink. “It’s not something that I honestly ever think about. I just never wanted to. I’m not the kind of person that will do something that I don’t want to do.” While it seems like something inconsequential to him — he’s just plain not interested in alcohol or drugs — he gets why it’s some grand shocking revelation to most people that take one look at him as a young Black rapper from Compton and make assumptions: “They don’t expect this from a young black musician my age from where I come from. Like, how could you end up being in the ghetto, went through this, went through that, and not experienced drugs, not experienced alcohol?” However, he admits that the very same things about him that would make people assume he’d partake in recreational drug use are the exact reasons he has no interest: “When you’re surrounded with death and dismay and poverty and all these things that happen every day, I didn’t have time to worry about using or partaking in certain things. People where I come from don’t use drugs in a recreational sense. We’re not at a party, or at the rock show, or at the rap show, doing lines in the bathroom. Where I come from, life comes day after day after day, and people use these things to cope.” He says the immediate threats of death and violence in his life superseded any interest he could have ever had in spending the day chasing a high. “When you have to think about your next 15 minutes—you have to think about the walk to the store, you have to think about how you’re getting to school, you have to think about the bus ride home, you have to think about how you’re going to sneak a gun into the football game—the last thing I was thinking about was getting high.” Good for him for staying true to his inclinations and not falling into the industry BS of drug consumption. Source: Source: Charles Sykes/Bravo/NBCU Photo Bank via Getty Images / Getty / Getty Ex-friend files… Mariah Huq Denies Drug Accusations, Comments On Quad’s Allegedly Abusive Marriage If you’ve been watching the “Married To Medicine” reunion then you’ve no doubt seen two ex-friends go head to head. Mariah and Quad have been eviscerating each other on Andy Cohen’s couches with allegations that Mariah uses cocaine and allegations that Quad slept with Mariah’s brother-in-law. Quad recently doubled down on the cocaine allegations and said she personally witnessed Mariah do the drug in front of her. She’s since told US Weekly that she believes Mariah STILL uses the drug to this day. “I saw her utilize cocaine,” Quad told US Weekly on Jan 7. “I know what I saw. I saw her actually using the drug herself … 2013, I saw her start using, and it just spiraled out of control. She’s just picked up the habit, even … has it now.” “This wasn’t a one-time thing, that she did this. This is progressively getting worse,” Quad said. “We’re not friends. We’re not. Let me just state that for the record. However, she was once a very special person to me. And because of that, I don’t want to see her continue to go down this road, because she’s a mother, she has children. She’s a wife. I’m very concerned for her. I’m very concerned for her.” Mariah’s since released a statement on her Instagram categorically denying the drug allegations. “In recent weeks I have endured a series of malicious and deceitful assaults to my personal character and integrity,” wrote Mariah.” I do not now or have I ever used illicit recreational drugs of any kind.” Not only that, she submitted a drug test to AllAboutTheTea that came back negative. On January 9, Mariah Huq was tested for cocaine, opiates, marijuana (cannabinoid), barbiturates etc. by LabCorp in Roswell, Georgia and all of her drug screens came back “Negative.” While Mariah might be clean from drugs, fans think she’s totally guilty of discounting Quad’s allegations that her husband was physically abusive. Source: Shahar Azran / Getty Touré Neblett Exposed For Past Workplace Sexual Harassment After appearing as a talking head in the explosive “Surviving R. Kelly” Lifetime documentary , journalist and television news host Touré has come under fire for some skeevy predatory behavior of his own. The pundit recently appeared on The Clubhouse Podcast with Mouse Jones and Jamilah Lemieux speaking more about the R. Kelly scandal, but was quickly called out in the comment section… A makeup artist who goes by the name @danimakeup on Instagram popped into the comments confused that Touré was going out of his way to take such a stand against people like R. Kelly (and Harvey Weinstein last year) when he himself had a penchant for getting inappropriate with women in the workplace — something she had experienced firsthand: “Every Monday I used to work with him on a show in 2017 and he couldn’t stop asking me to do anal, how I looked naked, if I had sex over the weekend, what it would be like to f*ck me, what his c*m would look kike on my face…I had to have the crew stay in the room with me while I got him ready…and when I left I called HR… he got fired instantly. He wrote me a huge apology for doing that in my DMs. Still have it. He did a 20/20 shoot in 2018 and I was there and he walked out. Told the producer he was “embarrassed bc he was inappropriate with a staff member” he really needs to take a seat.” You can see screenshots of Touré’s DM apology HERE . For his part, Touré does not deny or defend his actions. In response, Touré offered the following statement to Essence.com through his rep: “On the show, our team, including myself, engaged in edgy, crass banter, that at the time I did not think was offensive for our tight-knit group. I am sorry for my language and for making her feel uncomfortable in any way. As a lead on the show, I should have refrained from this behavior. I have learned and grown from this experience.” Wow. Well, at least he was disciplined for his actions and seems to have learned from the experience. What do you think about all of this? Michael Loccisano/Getty Images for HBO/Shahar Azran/Getty

Source: Joseph Okpako/WireImage/Jason Koerner/Getty Images for BET / Getty Gucci Mane Forms New “Gucci Gang” Supergroup Gucci Mane is debuting a brand new act at Coachella this year, and it was so under wraps that many people thought its listing was a typo. If you’ll recall, Coachella released their 2019 lineup a few days ago and left many heads scratching when they saw the act “Gucci Gang” listed. A click through to the website revealed a photo of Gucci Mane and it appeared that the pale people who put these things together were mistaken as to who they actually booked to perform…or at least had Lil Pump’s infectious chorus on the brain. But that’s not at all the case. A change of the official act listing photo revealed Gucci, Lil Pump, and Smokepurpp as a joint performance and according to TMZ , this Coachella performance is set to be the first of many for the trio. And since no one performs at Coachella simply for their health, we’re assuming that there’s a collaborative album forthcoming from these three as well. Are you here for it?? Source: tirc83/Getty Images / Getty Andrew Johnson Wrestles After Dreadlock Cutting Controversy Andrew Johnson is back to wrestling after that national controversy surrounding his dreadlocks. As previously reported Andrew’s hair was snipped on the sidelines of a match in December as ordered by racist ref Alan Maloney. Maloney was then suspended indefinitely and banned from working in the district where the match was. Now Andrew’s returned to wrestling 16 days later. NewJersey.com reports that Andrew, unfortunately, lost his first bout to state qualifier Jaden Hinton who opened the eight-team tournament on Saturday. Andrew wrestled without a hair cover, which is what was suggested instead of cutting his dreadlocks. His family previously said that he wanted to return to regular “life.” His parents Charles and Rosa Johnson are still considering legal action and said via an attorney that Referee Maloney’s behavior “appears more egregious as additional information comes to light.” The Johnsons alleged that the Maloney was late to the meet and didn’t question Andrew’s hair or the need for a head covering during the initial evaluation but then changed his mind and ordered it cut.
