Super Bowl Alcohol Ban to Hit San Francisco?

San Francisco football fans looking to have an all-time day and night one week from Sunday may find themselves hampered by a Super Bowl alcohol ban. Mayor Ed Lee is pushing to limit liquor sales before the Super Bowl February 3. He’s worried about another incident like the 2012 World Series, in which the city saw wild rioting and vandalism from drunken fans after the Giants won. Lee doesn’t want to issue an outright Super Bowl alcohol ban, but he is encouraging business owners to “serve something (other) than heavy alcohol.” His reasoning is that “inebriation sometimes doesn’t help with people who want to maybe go beyond the bounds of acceptability in their celebration.” Do you agree that perhaps an abundance of caution is warranted? Congratulations: The Superbowl Champion New York Giants Finally Receive Their Rings [Photos]

Shinin’ on them hoes!! The New York Giants Get Their Superbowl Championship Rings According to TMZ reports : The New York Giants FINALLY got their Super Bowl rings last night — three months after winning the championship — and they’re more beautiful than we could ever have imagined. The ring — designed by Tiffany & Co. — is made of white gold and COVERED in diamonds. The top of the ring alone is lined with 37 blue sapphires. The ring (pictured above on cornerback Will Blackmon’s finger) also includes the final score of Super Bowl XLVI (21-17) — when Giants trounced the New England Patriots for the second time in four years. The four Vince Lombardi trophies (look for the footballs) represent the team’s four championships (1986, 1990, 2007 and 2011). It’s hard to put a value on something like a Super Bowl ring — but the hardware alone is probably worth five figures. Congratulations gentlemen, no one wanted to see the Patriots win another one anyway LOL! Brandon Jacobs to Gisele Bundchen: Shut Up and Look Cute!

New York Giants running back Brandon Jacobs has a brief message for supermodel Gisele Bundchen, following her blaming the New England Patriots’ Super Bowl loss on dropped passes by husband Tom Brady’s teammates: Just shut yer yap and just look gorgeous! The Brazilian beauty made news after she was filmed, unknowingly, by The Insider , defending Brady from gloating Giants fans shortly after Super Bowl XLVI. “You have to catch the ball when you’re supposed to catch the ball,” yelled Bundchen to Giants fans as she was on her way out of Lucas Oil stadium.’ “My husband can’t f–king throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time,” she continued. “I can’t believe they dropped the ball so many times.” When asked by reporters about the rant during Tuesday’s victory celebration at MetLife stadium in New Jersey, Jacobs offered some unsolicited advice: “She just needs to continue to stay cute and shut up,” the outspoken star said. His teammate, defensive lineman Osi Umenyiora, expressed a little more sympathy: “I mean she’s supposed to stay out of things like that, but at the end of the day that’s their relationship and she has the right to say whatever she wants.” Gotta like a gal standing by her man, even if you’re glad said man lost. She’s also not wrong. That Wes Welker drop was an absolute killer.

It didn’t get the attention of Kelly Clarkson’s national anthem or Madonna’s halftime show (both great), but Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton performed a beautiful rendition of “America the Beautiful” at Super Bowl XLVI last night. The married country stars did justice to the classic, often overshadowed by “The Star Spangled Banner” and “God Bless America,” but a wonderful tribute to our nation.
