My name is Reiko, and on February 13 2012, I met Justin Bieber. It all started when my two friends, Emily & Angeliesse found out on a school day that Justin was here in NYC. We quickly decided to go to his hotel. It was around 9am when we got there and there was only one other girl. After waiting around half an hour or so, we saw his Escalade come and a few minutes later, Justin came out. We knew we had to keep calm and not go crazy and run to him or jump and freak out, so we walked towards him, calm . He was with Selena, and she was already in the car. He took pictures with three girls, then left. While doing this, Justin was getting SUPER annoyed at this one paparazzi who was all up in his face. After Justin went into his car he opened it a few seconds later and told the paps to “Stop it” and the paps just replied rudely “What?! No!” So Justin opened the door once more and said, “Can you stop it” The paps weren’t respecting Justin’s privacy and kept going at it, so lastly, Justin opens it again and says, “Go away!” As he said this, my friend Emily pushed the paparazzi and said, “JUSTIN SAID TO STOP IT, ALRIGHT!!” and we knew Justin saw this because it was right in front of his side of the window, and although we couldn’t see him from the tinted window, we hope he knows us beliebers got his back! My friend and I was devastated that we didn’t get a picture with him, but we were so glad that Angeliesse did because she went through so much to meet him and finally did. We then decided to wait until Justin came back to the hotel. While waiting, we saw Kenny and we asked, “Can we get a picture with you? We love you!” He was SUCH a nice person, he came up to me, put his arm around me and took a picture. Already meeting Kenny was the best way to start the day. Also, we met Moshe , people know him as white Kenny, and he was so sweet too! He took pictures with everyone, so did Kenny. After we waited for a few hours at around 2:00pm, Justin’s car pulled over and he got out and was talking on the phone. He then quickly waves, and told us, “I’ll be back outside soon” and went into the hotel. We were all then so hyped up, especially how close he was. He was beautiful. After half an hour later, the hotel staff started to put up barricades, there were around 40 people there by that time. Around 3:45pm, he came outside and he went to the other side of the barricades first, and took pictures with everyone. He also asked to take a group photo as well. In the beginning, we didn’t know if Justin was going to come over to this side, so everyone said, “JUSTIN! Please come over here!”. We all got really happy. As he came over, everyone started to ask for pictures with him, so I went up to him. I tapped his arm and asked, “Can I please get a picture with you?” He put his arm around me and then I snapped the picture. Those few seconds of my life was the best thing that has ever happened to me. After a few minutes, he said, “Can everyone please move back a little bit, I’m claustrophobic” and everyone moved back a few steps. As I quickly told him thank you, I realized that Emily didn’t get her picture yet so I nudged her towards Justin and they got a picture. After Justin took a few pictures with the rest of the girls, he went into his car. Afterwards, all the girls just hugged each other and screamed “OHHH MYY GODD WE JUST MET JUSTIN BIEBER!!” I made a heart with my hands to the car. Everyone was so greatful for what just happened. Although some people may say that Justin doesn’t care about his fans, he DEFINITELY does. He didn’t have to come outside and take pictures with us, he could’ve just went into his car and left. He really cares, a lot. I’m going to be honest, I’ve never thought I was going to meet Justin and I did. We have tried so many times to meet Justin, at Dolche and Gabbana, Today Show, and more. Also, Angeliesse has been through so much while trying to meet Justin (she had to get rushed to the hospital during his Today concert) so I’m really glad she finally got the chance to meet him, you deserve it. This whole experience was amazing. I met new really sweet beliebers and I am just so grateful to have the chance to meet him. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Jennifer Lawrence in the Girl on Fire costume in “Hunger Games” Photo: Lionsgate Thanks to a recent sit-down with charismatic director Gary Ross, we’ve gotten a great glimpse into what we can expect from the big-screen adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ dystopian bestseller when it hits theaters on March 23. When we asked Ross about his interaction with Collins, we were delighted to learn that he and the author had formed a close bond and ended up working on the script together and that Ross was completely impressed by the author’s talents as a screenwriter. “She wrote the last draft of the script with me,” Ross said. “We collaborated. We were in a room together! We locked ourselves up in a room and literally wrote the last draft of the script together. It was a blast. I hadn’t worked with anybody else as a team since Anne Spielberg on ‘Big,’ so just being in a room with someone was a phenomenal experience. Just having the electricity of two writers was great.” Ross went on to assure us and the millions of other “Hunger Games” fans that the movie version is as faithful as it could be, given the different parameters of the two mediums. “It’s very, very faithful in the literal sense, but it’s even more faithful in the tonal sense. My job is to give you that same visceral feeling you felt when you read the book,” Ross explained, adding that he wants audiences to experience the film from Katniss’ perspective. “[I want you] to feel that same kind of urgency, feel that same uncertainty she feels, to feel uncertain about Peeta’s motivations — that’s essential.” Finally, we asked Ross if we should prepare for any major deviations in the movie from the book, and he said there is nothing to prepare for in that sense. “Oh no. No, no, no. It’s a faithful adaptation. The whole episode, in fact, zeroed in on the Drama — the infighting, the personality clashes, the late-night bleary eyes — and didn’t make any time for actual, you know, singing. Luckily, there were enough distractions to keep things interesting. A mean sick bug seemed to be going around with the contestants, and Patient Zero was Amy Brumfield, whom you remember as Tent Girl , or the girl who lives in a tent in the woods in Tennessee. Brumfield was down and out for most of the episode, battling flu-like symptoms, while those she came in contact with were also given a mean case of the pukes. Lesson: Perhaps tent life isn’t the healthiest, most stable way to live. Brumfield found herself in a group with Alisha Bernhardt early on, though Bernhardt’s pushiness and insistence her group perform “Joy to the World” — the Three Dog Night version, not the Christmas carol — eventually drove Brumfield away. Bernhardt, a cop, eventually drove everyone in her group away after at one point threatening to fight a fellow contestant; she wound up linking up with another group and rehearsed Sugarland’s “Stuck Like Glue,” rather than “Joy to the World.” But the group’s progress was halted when group member Christian Lopez, wouldn’t you know it, got sick. (No telling if Brumfield was to blame.) Speaking of being sick, Symone Black — the contestant whose nasty fall off the “Idol” rehearsal stage ended Wednesday’s “Idol” episode — made her way back from the hospital to the good news that she’d advanced to the next round but the bad news that most of the groups had already been formed. She was able to quickly link up with a group, however, and her biggest issue seemed to be that her father, George Black, embarrassed her with his level of unconditional support. Competing with Bernhardt for the evening’s Drama Queen title were Brielle Von Hugel, a Hollywood Week veteran who was in a group with Pia Toscano last year, and Brianna-Marie Bell, who turned her nose up at contestants who were unable to identify whether they were an alto soprano or a mezzo soprano. But both were outshined, however, by the cowboy-hat-clad Richie Law, a would-be Scotty McCreery who drove his team — which included wry jokester Heejun Han — with a singular vision and an iron fist. He insisted his group learn multiple harmonies and dance steps and wouldn’t take “no” for an answer, and was seemingly clueless to his teammates’ lack of belief in his vision. “We’re gonna do this my way, and that’s it,” he said at one point, leading to one of many eye-rolls from Han. The episode was all buildup, no climax; viewers will have to wait until next week to find out who stays, who goes and if all the drama was worth it. At the opening of the episode, early favorite Lauren Gray — “I have two words for today: Lauren Gray,” Jennifer Lopez said after the St. Louis auditions — was dismissed.
