The Bachelor really cranked up the absurdity this week, with girls skiing in San Francisco in bikinis, a contestant leaving voluntarily, one from last season inexplicably returning only to be rejected the same night, one fainting during the rose ceremony (!) and more. In the end, Ben Flajnik narrowed the field to 15 women, with the rest of us wondering what lengths this awesomely terrible “reality” show will go to next. ‘I think we got a good shot with Melissa [for Best Supporting Actress],’ Paul Feig tells us on the Golden Globes red carpet. By Terri Schwartz, with reporting by Joshua Horowitz Paul Feig Photo: Steve Granitz/ Getty Images “Bridesmaids” might have walked away from the Golden Globes empty-handed , but the raunchy comedy is still considered a dark horse for the upcoming Oscar race. Nominees won’t be announced until January 24, and many experts are guessing that the film might sneak into the pool of Best Picture nominees. Director Paul Feig is similarly optimistic. MTV News caught up with him on the red carpet before the Globes where he chatted about his predictions for “Bridesmaids'” Oscar chances. “I’m really pulling for Melissa [McCarthy]. I think we got a good shot with Melissa [for Best Supporting Actress],” he said. “I think the girls have a good shot for the screenplay.” But what about their Best Picture odds? Feig isn’t holding his breath. “Look, nothing would make me happier,” he said. “I think that’s a real tough one because the way the voting for the Academy is set up for Best Pictures this year is tough. We have to get a lot of, like, ‘best movie of the year’ votes, which, like, we’re good, but we’re not the best movie of the year. I’d like to say we were, but what an ass I would sound like if I did say that.” That lends itself to a different argument that says the Academy Awards should follow the Globes’ model and separate the drama and comedy categories. As a comedic director and producer for over a decade, Feig said he sees the upside in that split. His argument is that it’s easier to create a showy drama that appeals to critics than a showy comedy that does the same. In his experience, showy comedies typically distance the intended audience, though that isn’t always the case. “I thought ‘The Hangover’ was very showy in that way, filmmaking-wise. But it’s hard because most comedy needs to be very relatable. Like, if I were to do ‘Bridesmaids’ kind of very stylistic, I think I would alienate the audience, you know,” he said. “As a filmmaker, my theory is always, ‘Take the backseat. Don’t show off. My name is Catherine, I am 15 and I am from England. I have always been the most unluckiest person ever. I never used to win anything no matter how many competitions I entered, and that was quite a lot! It was always my dream to meet Justin Bieber one day and I never used to win any of the meet and greet competitions I entered. But Justin always taught me to NEVER SAY NEVER so I never gave up! On 11th of March 2011 my dream came true! My friend Lucy and I entered a BieberFever.com meet and greet competition to meet him at the Liverpool Echo Arena and we won! We couldn’t believe it, it was the most amazing feeling in the world! We found out that we were meeting him the day before the actual concert and had been waiting for a few weeks for the email if we won or not. The concert started at 7:30pm but me and Lucy arrived in Liverpool at about 11 o’clock in the morning, we couldn’t wait! We both waited outside Justin’s hotel for a while and everyone was just screaming and singing his songs. Later on we walked over to near the Echo Arena and we heard loads of people shouting for Justin. Then out of no where, Marvin Millora appeared and walked out casually. No one really recognized him but me and Lucy ran after him so fast to catch up. We asked for a photo and he said no and we were like please and he said, ”Just joking, of course!” T hen we got a picture with him! We headed back over to the arena and saw Dan Kanter, Ryan Good and Allison Kaye walking past so we got pictures with them! We spoke to them for a bit but they were going to the Beatles Museum. Then at about half 4pm we collected our meet & greet wristbands and lined up. We were both shaking like mad and very nervous, I thought I was going to faint! At about half 5pm they came and got us and took us through. They said no screaming when you get in there please, just be as normal as you can. I was just so scared inside but excited and happy at the same time! It didn’t feel real at all! Then they took us through this small room we had to go in fours so me and my friend Lucy went with these two other girls that we started talking to. We walked past Kenny Hamilton and I said hello! T hen we turned around and there he was just standing right in front of us. Justin smiled and I was just like freaking out in my head. He said ‘Hey’. I said, ‘Hello, Oh my god your amazing!!’ He thanked me and we got a photo and hugged him each! He told us to enjoy the show, have a good night! My heart was just racing! I didn’t want to leave but we had to and we walked out the room. Loads of girls started coming up to us and saying, “Oh my God have you just met Justin Bieber? Oh my God you are so lucky”. My friend was crying at this point in shock. Then it was time for the show! He put on an amazing concert. Now my life is actually complete! On last night’s episode of “Braxton Family Values” we learned exactly what an “oral transaction” was but since we’re a family site, I’ll leave that definition up to your imagination. After hearing about Gabe’s infidelity towards Trina on last season, it’s surprising to hear that Trina has been dipping outside of her marriage too. She confesses to Tamar and Towanda that she recently had an “oral” transaction with one of the members in her band. However, she also confesses that it only went one way. When Tamar finds this small detail out, she doesn’t let it go! “But he at least shoulda ate the pie in order for him to get to the cream, Trina!” Tamar says. (Aaaamen sista, Tamar!) The girls convince Trina not to tell the truth to Gabe especially since he’s already paranoid about her whereabouts and already suspects that she’s stepped out on their marriage. Trina agrees, but that doesn’t stop her from spilling the beans to the whole family. When the girls meet up to have dinner with Mama Ev, a tipsy Trina spills it all! “I sucked on a ****! I sure did, and I liked it, and I enjoyed it! Excuse me, Mommy, I’m sorry. But you know what? I tasted it, I sucked it, and I liked it. It was a payback like a ****” YIKES!! A few days later, Trina and Gabe decide to go to therapy where Trina admits to her cheating, despite the warning from her sisters.
