Willie Hantz Tweets Denial of Drunk Driving Charge

Days after he was given the boot from Big Brother for attacking a fellow house guest, Willie Hantz was arrested yesterday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. The event took place around 2 a.m. in Lafayette Parish, Louisiana and law enforcement officials tell TMZ Hanz made a run for it when officers approached his Camaro. He reportedly refused a refused a breathalyze test and was taken into custody. HOWEVER, Hantz tells a very different story. And he tells it over Twitter. “I wasn’t driving. I was sitting in the driver’s seat with the car running. I know stupid,” he wrote after being released on bail, adding: “I didn’t run from anyone. I was just moving my car like the cops asked me to. Then they came up and arrested me. “If I would have ran then I would have been resisting arrest. I don’t know where that came from.” In conclusion, the brother of Survivor villain Russell Hantz – who has been arrested himself, for assault – told followers: “I mean all I can do is laugh it off. Learn from it. Maybe.”

Checking In with Paz de la Huerta [PICS]

Thanks to all the nude photos of her we’ve published over the years, we’ve begun to feel rather protective of Paz de la Huerta . When we don’t hear from her for a while, we worry about her- especially now that she’s been given the boot from Boardwalk Empire . We worry she’s living under a bridge or doing table dances at a strip club/all-you-can-eat buffet in downtown Vegas or something. But as it turns out, Paz is fine. As fine as anyone can be taking naked pictures of themselves in a dingy studio apartment with King of the Perverts “Uncle” Terry Richardson can be. And have you seen that seat meat lately? Mighty, mighty fine. More new, nude pics of Paz de la Huerta after the jump!

‘Dancing With The Stars’ Gives Gavin DeGraw The Boot

Pop singer had to participate in a dance-off with Jaleel White before getting the bad news. By Kelley L. Carter Karina Smirnoff and Gavin DeGraw on “Dancing With the Stars” Photo: ABC The savvy producers at ABC’s hit reality dance competition switched things up for fans during Tuesday night’s “Dancing With the Stars” elimination show. Instead of making fans sweat it out until the final minute to find out which celebrity dancer and his/her professional partner would be given the boot based on a combination of judges’ scores and fan votes, they turned the tables a bit. The bottom two couples — pop singer Gavin DeGraw and his partner Karina Smirnoff and childhood actor Jaleel White and his partner Kym Johnson — had to duke it out on the dance floor. The couples danced side by side in a duel of cha-chas, with the judges having the final say about who would be saved and who would be going home. In the end, it really wasn’t much of a shocker. DeGraw was told he’d danced his last dance on the show — he’d been the bottom scorer on Monday night, as was pretty much the case since the competition began. Monday night’s theme was Latin night, and his samba failed to impress the judges. That said, the judges told DeGraw that they based their decision solely on the dance he turned in Tuesday night, however, and not what he’d done in previous performances. “It’s been amazing to be part of the show,” DeGraw said after learning that he’d be going home, adding that Smirnoff was a great mentor. Next week, the celebrities take on Motown week.

Jack White’s ‘Sixteen Saltines’ Video Director Talks Kids And ‘Stunt Booze’

AG Rojas tells MTV News the eye-catching new clip ‘is pretty ridiculous,’ no matter what critics have to say. By James Montgomery Jack White Photo: WireImage Jack White’s brand-new “Sixteen Saltines” video combines all the warm-and-fuzzy sentiments of a Larry Clark production with the nihilistic, general grotesquery of, well, any Harmony Korine picture — only with more auto-erotic asphyxiation, creative drug use, property destruction and flat-out visceral violence tossed in for good measure. Needless to say, it’s pretty amazing. It’s the brainchild of director AG Rojas, who’s made a name for himself in recent years with the similarly gripping, warts-and-all videos he’s directed for the likes of Spiritualized (“Hey Jane”) and Odd Future’s Earl Sweatshirt (“EARL,” aka the clip that probably got Earl sent off to boot camp ). And though those vids strike at the same exposed nerve, none of them have garnered the same kinds of reactions “Saltines” has in the 24 hours since it first premiered, as he told MTV News on Friday (April 6). “I try to pay attention to what people are saying, especially with something like this, because I’m not used to people having any sort of interest in the work I do … it’s usually niche artists,” he laughed. “So I try to see what people think; I mean, it also stems from my natural narcissism too. “Basically, I was working off the energy of the track, and I just wanted to create all these little vignettes about youth,” he continued. “The kids are the only people left on earth and Jack is the last adult, and so because of that, he becomes their enemy. And I wanted to explore the rest of that world, and see what the kids get up to. They just kind of go wild.” They certainly do. Shot outside White’s home of Nashville, in a town called Springfield — “They were super-down to let us just kind of run around and do what we wanted,” Rojas explained — the “Saltines” clip is three minutes of kids running amok. They hold White hostage (and seemingly burn him alive), chug Robitussin, spit, slice, and smash everything in their wake. It’s part bleak suburban nightmare, part post-apocalyptic horror show. And all of it is real. “Everyone’s local … a lot of them, we just found them through street casting,” Rojas said. “There’s one scene with this kid who just had this certain weird charisma, and I asked the production designer to give me some weapons and we went through a warehouse, which was incredibly dangerous, so many holes and nails everywhere. I just told him what to do, and he was just, like, super-stoked to just smash sh–. We like to keep it pretty loose on set, just let everyone have fun.” OK, not all of it is real. Because though the video has already drawn some rather amazing knee-jerk criticism — “Is It Kiddie Porn?” remains our favorite — Rojas wants it to be known that it’s mostly just the product of his fervent imagination and even its most gripping scenes (like the one where kids huff steamed booze through a gas mask) should be taken with a grain of salt. “There was definitely stunt booze, for sure. A lot of the stuff is pretty ridiculous,” he laughed. “Like, you know how espresso machines have the steam wand to do the espresso? I’ve had this idea for a while, and I’ve always wanted to do it where you put some sort of alcoholic liquid in there. It’s such a totally ridiculous idea, like, it would never work, but I always thought it would be funny for kids to try and do weird drugs, just out of desperation.” What do you think of Jack White’s “Sixteen Saltines” video? DeAndre Brackensick: ‘Idol’ Viewers Love Or Hate My Voice

‘Back in the day, everybody was a falsetto singer; it’s just so unappreciated now,’ latest castoff tells MTV News. By James Montgomery, with reporting by Kelly Marino DeAndre Brackensick Photo: MTV News On Thursday night, “American Idol” bid adieu to its most follicly accomplished contestant, DeAndre Brackensick (no offense, Colton), who was given the boot following his performance of DeBarge’s “I Like It.” After his exit, Brackensick spoke to MTV News , expressing “no regrets” about anything he did during his run on “Idol” and remaining adamant that his falsetto — which somewhat mystified mentor Jimmy Iovine — wasn’t the reason for his departure. “Everyone has their opinion; my voice is one of the voices where either you love it or you can’t stand it, and I think Jimmy didn’t really have a feel for my voice,” he said. “But it’s fine, because I take everything he does say to me to heart, and I try to put it toward the next performance. I have much love for Jimmy.” And in keeping with both the “no regrets” sentiment and his belief in doing things his way, Brackensick said that he didn’t take his ouster — or the judges’ refusal to save him (no matter how hard Jennifer Lopez protested) — personally. After all, he feels he can leave the show with his head held high. “You always hope for the save, because [you] want to be with each other for another week,” he sighed. “But the saves happen for a reason; I’d already been saved once, so I can’t really be saved again. You only get so many chances in life. I’m just proud of myself and the accomplishments I’ve made already.” He’s hoping he’ll keep accomplishing things post-“Idol.” Like, for example, bringing back the sweet falsetto sounds of classic R&B and the genuine emotion of music — both of which he said are sorely missed in today’s music. “That R&B soul is just lacking nowadays in music. Back in the day, everybody was a falsetto singer; it’s just so unappreciated now,” he said. “That was one of the reasons why I wanted to sing an Eric Benet song. There’s so many talented people that are not getting the love they should, and I want to bring that old sound back. I don’t even want to be a huge star. I just want music to be known, and I want messages to be getting through, like it was back in the day.” Get your “Idol” fix on MTV News’ “American Idol” page , where you’ll find all the latest news, interviews and opinions. Mitt Romney Sweeps Wisconsin, Maryland, D.C. Primaries

With more than half the delegates needed for nomination, Romney setting sights on President Obama. By Gil Kaufman Mitt Romney at an election-night rally in Milwaukee, Wisconsin Photo: Getty Images Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney took a big step toward locking down the GOP presidential nomination on Tuesday when he pulled off a clean sweep of the day’s three primaries. With decisive victories in Wisconsin, Maryland and the District of Columbia, Romney appeared to finally vanquish his rivals as he increasingly turned his attention to President Obama. Romney won 42.5 percent of the vote in Wisconsin, outpacing his only remaining threat, former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum, who earned 37.6 percent. Ron Paul and Newt Gingrich were well behind both men in all three contests. In Maryland, Romney took 49.1 percent to Santorum’s 28.9 and in Washington, D.C., Romney landed a commanding 70 percent to Paul’s 12 and Gingrich’s 11; Santorum was not on the ballot in D.C. “This has really been quite a night. We won a great victory tonight in our campaign to restore the promise of America,” Romney said. “President Obama thinks he’s doing a good job — I’m not kidding,” he told a crowd in Milwaukee while standing in front of a large American flag, according to the New York Times . “It’s enough to make you think that years of flying around on Air Force One, surrounded by an adoring staff of true believers telling you that you’re great and you’re doing a great job, it’s enough to make you think that you might become a little out of touch.” After once again slamming the president for creating what he deemed a “government-centered society” based on bloated White House policies, Romney promised his followers that he would preside over a different America if he wins in November. “The dreamers can dream a little bigger, the help wanted signs can be dusted off, and we can start again,” he said. “And this time we’ll get it right.” Romney now has 58 percent of the delegates needed to secure the nomination, but his slow, methodical march to the magic number of 1,144 is not quite over, as Santorum vowed that he would stay in the race through the April 24 primaries. Five states will vote on that day, including his home state of Pennsylvania, where Santorum believes he can put up a convincing victory that might pave the way to more wins in May. According to estimates, Romney has 648 delegates so far to Santorum’s 264. Even before Romney could celebrate, he got a taste of what the general election might feel like when President Obama singled him out for some criticism while speaking to a crowd of editors and reporters in Washington. Obama slammed Romney for supporting a GOP budget proposal that the president likened to “social Darwinism.” “He said that he’s ‘very supportive’ of this new budget,” Obama said of Romney, before seeming to mock his potential challenger’s one-percent pedigree. “And he even called it ‘marvelous,’ which is a word you don’t often hear when it comes to describing a budget … it’s a word you don’t hear generally.” He assailed the budget plan put forward by House Republicans for slashing funding for education and infrastructure in favor of more tax breaks for the wealthy. The fiery speech came on the same day that Obama clinched the uncontested Democratic presidential nomination with wins in all three states. With Santorum (not to mention Gingrich and Paul) showing no signs of leaving the GOP contest, pundits predicted that the road ahead for Romney could still be tough, as he must continue to beat back the other contenders in some Southern primaries in May while attempting to focus his fire on Obama. ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Results: Jack Wagner Booted

Former soap star is second celebrity to be eliminated this season. By Kelley L. Carter Jack Wagner on “Dancing With the Stars” Photo: ABC True to reality-TV form, fans had to wait until the final seconds of Tuesday night’s “Dancing With the Stars” to learn which celebrity would be going home in the second round of eliminations on ABC’s big hit. Host Tom Bergeron joked that he hoped they’d be able to name who was heading home before the show ended, given that there were literally only seconds left and three remaining couples. In the end, there was enough time to announce the winner and get a quick soundbite, but unlike Monday night’s emotional performances, there wasn’t enough time for tears. On Tuesday night’s results show, the final two came down to pop singer Gavin DeGraw and his pro partner Karina Smirnoff and former soap star Jack Wagner and his partner Anna Trebunskaya. Wagner and Trebunskaya were given the boot. Wagner kept his cool when his name was called, saying it was an honor to be able to perform this season and share some of his story. “It was a great time, and I had a great time,” he said. “It was fun to kind of test myself. Thanks to the judges. I appreciated it.” The judges told him his performance was his best of the season so far. On Monday night, he scored 24 points out of 30 for his samba in celebration of meeting his 23-year-old long-lost daughter in 2011. Do you agree with Jack Wagner’s elimination? Sound off below!

Who Won America’s Next Top Model?

America’s Next Top Model courted some major controversy on its season finale tonight, as finalist Angela Preston was disqualified… with little explanation provided. Sources say she was given the boot for leaking spoilers about the cycle, while some go as far as to validate this claim… and add that she was actually named the winner, until The CW was forced to reshoot the finale. The network, meanwhile, simply said in a statement: “After production wrapped on the current cycle of America’s Next Top Model , we learned information that made Angelea ineligible and she was subsequently disqualified from the competition. As a result, new scenes were filmed to address this for the audience during the finale.” That shocking development resulted in a rather anti-climactic conclusion, but Lisa D’Amato took home the crown after dominating on the runway. For winning the first-ever All-Stars cycle, Lisa earned a $100,000 contract with CoverGirl, along with a spread in Vogue Italia and a guest correspondence role on Extra . “It’s crazy! It’s absolutely crazy! I feel incredible,” said the 30-year old after hearing her name called as the champion. “To be honest, my confidence actually comes from a very vulnerable place. It’s not that I’m over-confident. It’s just that I have to life myself up every day. I have a lot to prove. I feel like the universe finally came around for me and I’m not going to let anybody down. I won America’s Next Top Model All Star. It’s pretty damn cool.”

‘Dancing With The Stars’ Says Ciao To Elisabetta Canalis

David Arquette and Chaz Bono join George Clooney’s ex in bottom three. By Kelley L. Carter Elisabetta Canalis Photo: ABC Networks In the final minutes of Tuesday night’s “Dancing With the Stars” elimination show, it was George Clooney’s ex-girlfriend who was given the boot. Elisabetta Canalis and her partner, Val Chmerkovskiy, were eliminated after landing in the bottom three alongside David Arquette and Kym Johnson and Chaz Bono and Lacey Schwimmer. The Italian actress and host seemed a bit jarred when it was revealed she was the contestant leaving in week two, considering that she and her partner had impressed the judges with a big improvement from last week . “I’m not going to say much. I’m just going to say this: It’s not great, but it was better than last week,” head judge Len Goodman said before scoring her Monday. Tonioli disagreed, saying, “The gears were grinding, the engines were hot. The pistols were pumping. Keep working.” Canalis ultimately scored 21 out of 30, which placed her right in the middle of the pack and above Hope Solo and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Arquette and Johnson, Carson Kressley and Anna Trebunskaya and Bono and Schwimmer. Canalis, who looked to be holding back tears, expressed how much she enjoyed her short time on the show: “I want to thank everybody, because they made me come here! Thanks to the public and everybody who voted for us. It was a great experience.” Chmerkovskiy, a newcomer who also is Maksim’s younger brother, said he was very proud of his celeb partner. “I wish I did better for you. But I’m very lucky to be here,” he said. Were you surprised to see Elisabetta go? Let us know in the comments!
