He must have REALLY hated his wife , damn… Colorado Man Throws $500,000 In Gold In Garbage To Keep It From Wife In Divorce Via Gazette A fortune in gold, gleefully chucked into a Colorado Springs trash bin? That’s the claim of Earl Ray Jones, a Teller County man who says he converted $500,000 in life savings into gold in May and then threw it away – all to prevent his wife of 25 years from seeing a nickel in their pending divorce. “Damn right I did,” the 52-year-old former defense contractor huffed at a July deposition by the woman’s stunned divorce attorney, John-Paul Lyle of Colorado Springs. In his sworn interview, Jones said he consigned the treasure to a Dumpster behind a Colorado Springs motel, according to a transcript obtained by The Gazette. Bank records supplied by Jones prove that the money was converted to gold through a Phoenix, Ariz. precious metals dealer, lending credence to the hard-to-swallow tale, Lyle said. “We say that when people are divorcing, they enter a state of temporary insanity,” he said. “But on a scale of 1 to 10, this is my 10.” Whether the gold was actually tossed has yet to be established. Jones claimed during the deposition there were no witnesses and that he took no steps to document the disposal. Sir, really???? Jones is facing a Nov. 4 sentencing in Teller County for menacing after he beat up his wife and held her captive in their Divide home during a March fight over finances. April Jones filed for divorce three weeks after the assault. Facing the loss of his government security clearance, Jones resigned his $82,000-a-year job at Exelis, a Colorado Springs contractor, court records show. He has been held at the Teller County jail pending sentencing since his conviction at a September trial, court records show. His estranged wife was left “destitute” by the marriage’s breakup and is living with a relative in Virginia, Lyle said. A former teacher, she is unable to work because of the lingering effects of her injuries, including a diagnosis of post-concussion syndrome. People ain’t S#!T! Jones first made his claim that he disposed of savings at a June divorce hearing in which El Paso County Magistrate D. Denise Peacock ordered that he pay his estranged wife $3,000 a month – money the woman hasn’t received. At the sworn deposition in July, Jones said he threw the gold – a mix of coins and gold bars – into a trash bin at Value Place, 5555 Airport Road, a weekly rate motel that Jones called home after vacating the couple’s Divide home. A Billings, Montana woman was charged with felony DUI after becoming so intoxicated that she had to call 911 to get out of the car, the Billings Gazette reports. Maybe a sign you shouldn’t be driving. Maybe. Carol Frances Omeara, 55, made an initial appearance in Yellowstone County Justice Court Wednesday. She remained jailed as of Thursday on $3,000 bond. Omeara was arrested Tuesday after a 911 call in which she said she couldn’t get out of her vehicle. The dispatcher asked if she was having medical or mechanical issues. Court records indicate the caller replied she was too drunk, and she wasn’t kidding. Prosecutors say Omeara’s blood-alcohol level was 0.311 percent. Point three-one-one percent! That’s 3-4 times the legal limit at which a driver is considered legally intoxicated. Sadly but not surprisingly, records say Omeara has three previous DUIs.
Safe to say Gloria Allred was unmoved by Kanye West’s visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live . The famed victims’ rights attorney is calling the rapper out as a shameful disgrace. After ‘Ye threatened the paparazzi during his epic late night rant, strongly implying that he’ll keep using force if he deems it necessary, Gloria was fuming. Allred is representing photographer Danny Ramos, the paparazzo who has sued the rapper alleging assault, battery, negligence and violation of civil rights. Kanye claimed self-defense in that LAX airport altercation, but Allred isn’t buying it, and cites remarks by Kanye on Jimmy Kimmel as further proof of her point: “Mr. West made it clear that he thinks he has the right to attack anyone that antagonizes him by asking him a question he does not like. He thinks that paparazzi are fair game.” “In his televised appearance on the Jimmy Kimmel show he sent a message that anyone that crosses him is not safe and that no one should forget that he is from Chicago.” “We have a message to you Mr. West in response. You will be held accountable for your actions both in the criminal justice system and in the civil justice system.” “Your remarks are shameful and add further insult to the injuries that you inflicted upon my client. You say that you bring ‘joy to the world’. I say you disgrace your profession.” Allred said that the volatile Kim Kardashian beau brings “shame to your hometown of Chicago when you make reference to being from Chicago as some sort of threat.” Ouch. Sounds like someone’s gearing up for a right. Unless he settles out of court beforehand, Kanye is scheduled to be arraigned on criminal battery charges November 7.
