Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know” was apparently the song of the week on Fox. Two hit shows on the network featured covers of it in as many nights! Tuesday, on Glee , Matt Bomer’s guest appearance as the older brother of Darren Criss’ character featured a scene in which the two duet on the catchy track. While it was something of an odd choice to have brothers singing this song, as its lyrics imply a breakup between a couple, the guys absolutely killed. Wednesday, on American Idol’s top seven performance show, Phillip Phillips and Elise Testone tag-teamed it. Which cover was better? British group are first boy band to see a debut track hit #1 on Billboard ‘s chart since Hanson in the ’90s. By Jocelyn Vena The Wanted Photo: MTV News If you’re one of those people who thinks the era of boy bands has come and gone — think again. After One Direction topped the Billboard charts with their debut album, Up All Night, the Wanted are also now chart-toppers. Their British group’s cheeky, innuendo-filled single “Glad You Came,” is currently the #1 song on the Billboard Pop Songs chart. The last time a boy band’s debut track took the top spot on that chart was back in 1997 when Hanson’s ubiquitous “Mmmbop” sat at #1 for eight weeks. In fact, it’s been about a decade since any boy band managed hit that high on the Pop Songs chart. (O-Town nabbed the spot back in 2001 with “All or Nothing.”) The Wanted are set to drop their debut U.S. album on April 24. Island Def Jam president and COO Steve Bartels commented on the popularity of the song, which has sold 1.5 million copies and placed at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100. “Judging from the explosive reception to [the song] at radio and online, the appeal of that sound is as solid as ever, no matter how you describe it, a boy band or simply a male pop vocal group, which is what the Wanted is,” he said. “We have seen proof of this over the past several weeks with sales and when the ‘Glee’ cast covered the song [on its February 21 episode]. No matter what name you give the Wanted’s style, people of all ages have connected with the group. That connection is priceless.” The guys are certainly not resting on their laurels. They opened up to MTV News last week about shooting the video for their new single, “Chasing the Sun.” “We saw a lot of treatments and a lot of them took it literally: somewhere chasing the sun,” Jay McGuiness told us. “But we decided we weren’t into that. We worked with a director called Director X, so we know it’s going to be a good party. But we’ll leave the details until we release it.” The guys also shared that they’re hoping to get a rapper on a remix of the track. But the only clues they would give us was that the MC loves cats and it’s not Cee Lo Green, who frequently chills with his cat Purrfect on “The Voice.” What do you think of the Wanted? Donald Trump may need to add “therapist” to his resume underneath “blowhard,” “fake presidential candidate” and “real estate mogul” after this Celebrity Apprentice . Aubrey O’Day had just gone MIA after clashing with Arsenio Hall, Lisa Lampanelli had a massive meltdown (again) and a whole lot of additional drama played out. In the end, Lou Ferrigno got the chop. Why? Arsenio and Lisa yelled about Aubrey and her ego. Then when Lou Ferrigno and Dayana Mendoza walked in the victory room, Lisa insulted them to their faces. Things didn’t improve much during the task, which required the teams to write, produce and direct a 60-second commercial for Entertainment (dot) com. Dayana Mendoza instantly jumped to claim the role of project manager for Team Unanimous, while Teresa Guidice boldly took the #1 spot for Team Forte. Team Forte went for a more risque storyline, while Team Unanimous played it safe, and got beat, leaving Lou Ferrigno to play Penn’s usual role of scapegoat. Miss Universe brought Lou and Lisa with her to the chopping block, where the Donald opined that Lou didn’t give his all AND threw his team under the bus. Strike two and three right there. Adios, Lou!

Whatever you think of Tim Tebow, you can’t doubt his sincerity. On Easter Sunday, nearly 15,000 worshipers flocked to Celebration Church in Georgetown, Texas, to hear the newest New York Jet speak at that morning’s service. Churchgoers gathered in fields for a music-filled outdoor service, with people flocking from miles around to hear and see the deeply devout Christian football star. Tim Tebow Easter Church Service During the service, the former University of Florida star turned NFL sensation, who was recently traded , joined the pastor on stage for a 20-minute interview. “It’s OK to be outspoken about your faith,” said Tebow, the son of former Baptist missionaries who became known for wearing Bible verses on his eyeblack. Tebow good-naturedly talked about the craze known as “Tebowing,” noting that he’s done it for the past seven years now and doesn’t mind being parodied. It means prayer is being talked about, he says, which is what matters. Tebow recently reached out to the church’s pastor, Joe Champion, about visiting his congregation, and Easter Sunday happened to the best date for the football star. On a typical Easter, the church attracts about 10,000 people, Champion said. So Tebow proved a big lure for people who would otherwise not have come. “In Christianity, it’s the Pope and Tebow right now,” Champion told the congregation on Sunday morning. “We didn’t have enough room to handle the Pope.”

One Direction’s ‘What Makes You Beautiful’ rumored for Fox comedy, which will also feature Whoopi Goldberg. By Jocelyn Vena Lindsay Lohan Photo: FilmMagic Lindsay Lohan is confirmed to make an appearance on “Glee.” The announcement comes in a wave of casting news for the hit Fox comedy, which includes a spot for comedian and talk-show host Whoopi Goldberg. A rep for Lohan confirmed the casting to E! News . In a May episode of the show, Lohan is rumored to be onboard to play herself as a judge at Nationals. Lindsay’s mother, Dina, once took issue with the show for poking fun at her after the show included a scene in which Katie Couric informed Jane Lynch’s character, Sue Sylvester, that she beat out Dina and her dog Sparky to make the list of the “world’s biggest losers.” Dina had said, “It’s a shame as the dance numbers are amazing, but the writers need to be nice and more creative as opposed to being hurtful.” Lohan has recently been making strides to get back into the acting spotlight. She hosted “Saturday Night Live” this season and is in talks to play the late Elizabeth Taylor in a small-screen biopic. As for Goldberg, she’ll be in three episodes in May, playing a New York Academy of the Dramatic Arts professor (Carmen Tibideaux) who travels to Ohio to meet with Kurt and Rachel about possible acceptance into the school. In other “Glee” news, rumor has it One Direction might be following in the Wanted’s footsteps , getting covered on the show. Matthew Morrison reportedly told the Sun that the cast will be covering the boy band’s single, “What Makes You Beautiful.” “I’ve just heard of them, they’re really taking over the States,” Morrison said. “We are covering one of their songs on ‘Glee’: ‘What Makes You Beautiful.’ I need to YouTube it to practice.” A rep for the band hadn’t responded to MTV News’ request for confirmation by press time.
