Katy Perry’s ‘Teenage Dream’ Video: Fall In Love All Over Again

Romantic clip for title track of pop star’s forthcoming album co-stars actor Josh Kloss. By James Montgomery Josh Kloss and Katy Perry in the “Teenage Dream” music video Photo: Eric Ford/Danny Mayer/ On Location News You’ve got to hand it to Katy Perry : she’s really hitting on all cylinders these days. “California Gurls,” the first single from her album Teenage Dream , was the official anthem of the first half of summer, a fun and flirty song that probably served as the soundtrack to your various beachfront flings. And now, she’s back with the album’s title track — and second single — which will undoubtedly serve as the soundtrack to one of those flings blossoming. She’s got you covered every step of the way … it’s sorta brilliant, really. Both “Teenage Dream” and its accompanying video are about falling madly in love, about losing your inhibitions and getting jelly-kneed by the mere thought of being near that certain someone. Sure, you may have snogged your fair share of guys or gals down the shore this summer (that’s what “California Gurls” was for), but now you’ve found the one that makes you feel all giddy inside, and you’re ready to let your guard down and go head-over-heels. “Dream” is all those gooey feelings turned into a pop song. The video was directed by Yoann Lemoine, who fills it with gauzy, sunset-tinged scenery: a beach in the waning light, the rapidly darkening hills of California, the incandescent glow of a pool in the early evening. Much like the song itself, the entire clip feels like a wooshing, love-drunk dream. Perry frolics with a frequently shirtless hunk (actor Josh Kloss) and is giddy throughout. She brings her friends (including L.A. socialites Ana Calderon and DJ Skeet Skeet) along to share in the merriment, and they throw impromptu dance parties all over Southern California. It all possesses an unwound, unabashed glee — the kind of bliss that only comes when you first fall in love, when everything seems to be taken from a movie (or, in this case, an Abercrombie & Fitch billboard) and nothing seems impossible. In that regard, it fits the feel of the song perfectly. Perry always stays on message. There is no deviation. It’s ingenious, not to mention a little frightening. Welcome to your favorite song of the second half of 2010, the one you’ll fall in love with (and to). You are powerless to resist. What do you think of Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream”? Spotted Together: Ashley Greene and Joe Jonas!

Might Ashley Greene and Joe Jonas be an item after all? Last month, sources said the hunky singer was smitten with the actress, though they also confirmed that Greene didn’t reciprocate those feelings. In fact, insiders linked the Twilight Saga star to random actor Brock Kelly . We haven’t heard much about either Joe or Ashley’s love life since, but photographic evidence proves they’ve at least been hanging out. Yesterday, the celebs were spotted getting coffee together in Los Angeles. Did they need caffeine because they were up all night making love? Anything is possible! Britney Spears WILL Appear on Glee!

Despite previous reports that Britney Spears would not personally appear on the Glee tribute episode devoted to her, creator Ryan Murphy says she will ! Just last week, star Jane Lynch said that the episode was very much in the works, musically and plot-wise, but the pop singer herself would not appear . So much for that. On Ryan Seacrest’s radio show today, Murphy said Brit is 100 percent “going to be on the episode,” likely as a dental assistant to John Stamos’ character. “The Britney episode is so reverential about her and so kind and it’s about her music and it’s not about her personal life,” Murphy revealed to Seacrest. The girl on the right has shown her face many times from about 2005-present, but Britney Spears on the left will be the focal point of Glee’s tribute episode . “And I think, Britney Spears is pop culture, and I think she’s been through a lot. And I wanted to do something that just sort of says, you know what, ‘thank you for who you are and what you have done.'” Hopefully that includes a head-shaving, as rumored. Regardless, it should include a rendition of “Baby One More Time,” as this Lea Michele pic shows. As for the other tribute songs, which would you rather hear when the episode airs September 28 (the season premieres a week earlier)? Vote below:

Britney Spears Will Appear in Drug-Fueled Glee Episode About Her

Maybe after the Britney Spears episode, Glee creator Ryan Murphy will concentrate on the show’s core characters . Murphy spoke to Ryan Seacrest on his radio show this morning and confirmed the speculation that Britney would appear on the Fox hit: “Britney, I think 100% is going to be on the episode, which is exciting.” But what role will she play?

Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen Break Up

Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen, who decided they were taking a break back in June, have officially ended their engagement, reports say. “Yes, the engagement is off,” Bilson’s rep confirmed, without elaborating. Distance was reportedly one of the main reasons for the split. With the former OC star based primarily in L.A., and Christensen living in his native Canada, “It just wasn’t working out,” says a friend of the actress. Rachel and Hayden made such a cute couple … Now Bilson, who will appear on How I Met Your Mother a second time when the CBS comedy premieres in September, is “focusing on her career, spending time with her family and just moving forward,” adds the friend. The pair met on the set of Jumper in 2007, and got engaged the following year. We wish them both nothing but the best in this difficult time.

Lea Michele Channels Britney Spears For Glee

The Britney Spears tribute episode on Glee is generating a lot of buzz, and equally as many rumors. For the moment, here’s what we know about the episode: Britney Spears herself will not appear . The episode will be titled “Britney/Brittany.” The episode will feature six Spears songs. It will reportedly feature a head shaving. Heather Morris (Brittany) will do lead vocals . Heather’s not the only cast member getting in on the act, however. This photo of Lea Michelle as Britney on set suggests that Rachel will be featured in at least one Spears number … “Baby One More Time” seems like a pretty good guess: Lea gets into character. [Photo: PacificCoastNewsOnline.com] It’s unclear when the Britney episode airs, but the magic unfolds when Season 2 of Glee debuts September 21. Which Britney song would you most want to hear?

Katy Perry Lives Her ‘Teenage Dream’ At Teen Choice Awards

Pop star performs latest single, dresses as high school characters and wins two surfboards during hosting gig. By James Dinh Host Katy Perry performs during the 2010 Teen Choice Awards Photo: Getty Images In a giant outline of a neon-lit heart, Katy Perry stood still as she began to sing the lyrics of her latest single “Teenage Dream.” Opening the 2010 Teen Choice Awards with a flashy performance of her feel-good song was just the first step in jump-starting the show, which she hosted alongside the guys of “Glee” on Sunday. “I’mma get your heart racing/ In my skintight jeans/ Be your teenage dream tonight,” Perry sang a cappella inside the flashing red heart. Screens filled with falling white drops filled the set as a duo of cheerleaders dashed behind the singer. When the chorus kicked in, Perry ran to the center of the smoky stage. Dangling in front of a towering boxed cage, Perry later joined her dancers for some loose choreography as the stage turned dark with an array of extras dressed as high school stereotypes, including jocks, cheerleaders and hippies. In a dramatic ending, the dancers left the singer solo as she raised her right hand and a shower of fireworks sprinkled over her. “Welcome to my teenage dream come true: the Teen Choice Awards 2010!” she screamed to the roaring audience. “Teenage Dream” took a whole new meaning during the singer’s gig as host of the awards show, which aired Monday night (August 9). The pop star took the opportunity to turn back the hands of time and play desired high school characters with “Glee” boys Chris Colfer, Kevin McHale, Cory Monteith and Mark Salling. “Look at how handsome these boys are tonight. I kind of feel really popular, like the popular girl in high school,” she told the audience. “Tonight is my chance to go back to high school,” the pop star said in a sparkly, strapless minidress. “Do I want a sexy jock or do I want a sexy geek? But why do I have to pick just one? I insisted that all of you guys be here tonight to host with me,” Perry said as she stood in between a line of “Glee” gentlemen. Whether it was a forcefully hostile cheerleader who didn’t know her chant or a bug-eyed goth chick with enough fishnets and accessories to last her the entire school year, Perry’s hosting talents proved comical. But her variety of costumes shouldn’t be too surprising, as the singer hinted to MTV News back in June that “there’s a lot of Velcro involved. But it’ll be fun.” In addition to her hosting duties, the singer also visited the podium to accept surfboards (“Choice Music: Single” and “Choice Summer Music Song”) for West Coast anthem “California Gurls.” She later took to Twitter to celebrate her award, writing, “Oh my goth I won a surfboard.” If you can’t get enough of Perry, make sure to keep your eyes peeled for the release of her new video for “Teenage Dream” premiering Tuesday.
