And Here’s 15 Seconds of Thomas Jane Thrashing Around in the Sand

The despondent , face-ripping marvel that is I Melt With You went even crazier this afternoon wit the release of its latest… teaser? Experimental plug? Tormented curio? All of the above? Whatever you want to call this krazy klip , it features co-star Thomas Jane’s own headscratching riff on the “pain of the modern male psyche.” Because when Tom Jane hurts, he apparently takes it out on the desert.

Ricky Gervais To Drop By The Office

After seven seasons worth of speculation, The Office creator Ricky Gervais will reprise his role as David Brent, the clueless former manager of the U.K. series, on the U.S. adaptation next week. The showdown will take place on the January 27 episode, “The Seminar” and be very brief. Office show-runner Paul Lieberstein warns Vulture , that “if you don’t set your TiVo right, you’ll miss it.” Which means that maybe the encounter takes place in the episode tag? Either way, look out for Gervais’ first attempt to regain some of the statewide popularity he squandered last Sunday. [ TVline ]

Celebrities Rush to Defense of Ricky Gervais

The president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association did not think Ricky Gervais was very funny at host of The Golden Globes on Sunday. But you know who did? Pretty much anyone with a sense of humor. Let’s take a look at the celebrities that have Tweeted/voiced their support for Gervais over the last few days: Golden Globes Intro Larry King : The folks who put him on the Globes have no right to complain about Ricky Gervais. He does what he does. Why should it surprise them? You agree? Elizabeth Banks : I thought RG was hilarious. Actors can take it. We have thick skins. Jon Stewart : [I’m] offended that a comedian could be that funny at an awards show. Damon Lindelof : In case you forgot what made David Brent so brilliant, it’s that he made us feel unsafe, uncomfortable and unable to look away. BRAVORICKY. Andrew Garfield : He’s been terribly nasty and horribly rude and I think he’s genius. Christian Bale : Thank God for comedians. I’m hoping he’s going to keep going further. Al Pacino : He’s a comic, so he’s going to go for it. He’s letting it go. You don’t know what [he’s] going to say! Do you think Gervais went too far at the ceremony?

Robert Pattinson Says ‘Water For Elephants’ Felt Like ‘Big Movie’

‘It felt totally different from doing something within the ‘Twilight’ world,’ he tells MTV News of stretching beyond vampire role. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson in “Water for Elephants” Photo: Fame Pictures For all of the Robert Pattinson fans counting down the days until your favorite actor hits the big screen again, know that there’s now just about three months (94 days, to be exact) until the “Twilight” hunk’s next movie, “Water for Elephants,” opens. When MTV News caught up with Pattinson at Sunday’s Golden Globes (he co-presented the award for Best Foreign Film), we asked whether he thought “Elephants” was a big stepping stone for him, acting-wise. “I think so,” he said. “It definitely felt like I was doing a big movie when I was doing it and it felt totally different from doing something within the ‘Twilight’ world because now it just seems so familiar, the ‘Twilight’ stuff. It’s just like going to a normal job, doing that,” he explained of playing vampire Edward Cullen in the franchise. Pattinson’s “Elephants” co-star Reese Witherspoon told MTV News recently that she couldn’t help but agree with millions of fans about one thing: “He is extraordinarily attractive,” she told us. “I’m not gonna lie.” Witherspoon shares a kiss with Rpattz in the upcoming film and a new photo of the two in a lip-lock may make more than a few “Twilight” fans jealous. But Witherspoon was quick to add that Pattinson is attractive both inside — and out. “Robert is such a great guy from a great family,” she told us last month. “That’s the thing that’s so funny. He’s not really this bad boy; he’s just a great guy and really worked hard on ‘Water for Elephants.’ He really worked long hours, long days. He looks totally different in the movie.” Are you looking forward to how Reese compares to KStew as an onscreen leading lady to RPattz? Tell us in the comments! Classic Jersey Shore: Drunk Snooki Falls on Face, Tells Off Cops, Hauled Off to Jail

THG’s Jersey Shore recap , while thorough, does not do justice to Snooki. On last night’s special episode, she went on a bender so magnificent that she got lost and couldn’t find the beach FROM THE BOARDWALK, then when she did make it down, proceeded to eat sand. Then she dropped F-bombs on the cops. “Get the f**k off me,” pleaded Snooki , as JWoww and Deena Nicole cringed. “I’m a f**king good person!” A drunk, hilarious mess of a person, anyway: Snooki Wasted on Jersey Shore!

Justin Bieber and Angelina Jolie: Say Cheeeese!

Millions of women would kill just to stand next to Justin Bieber . Sadly, scarily, we’re not really exaggerating. But don’t put Angelina Jolie in that group. The actress posed alongside Justin on the red carpet of Sunday’s Golden Globes, much to her chagrin, apparently. A friend of Justin’s named “jonmchu” posted the following TwitPic yesterday, claiming it was snapped when Bieber met Jolie on the red carpet. But we question its legitimacy. After all, how can any female stand next to this 16-year old and maintain her composure in such a manner?!? Justin didn’t mind the snub. At the event, he Tweeted: “Backstage at the Golden Globes. Everyone is here. This is nuts!!”
