Kristen Stewart On Robert Pattinson’s Other Ideas For Best Kiss Award Acceptance Speech

‘He wanted to light a match while I was juggling and he was hula hooping,’ Stewart says of Pattinson’s alternate ideas for the MTV Movie Awards. By Terri Schwartz, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Kristen Stewart Photo: MTV News Without a doubt, one of the most talked-about moments of the 2010 MTV Movie Awards was Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart’s acceptance “speech” for winning the Golden Popcorn for Best Kiss. Fans loved the quick, awkward kiss Pattinson grabbed from Stewart onstage, but when MTV caught up with him backstage afterwards, he admitted that the stunt didn’t work out the way they’d planned. Apparently Pattinson had other ideas for ways the two “Twilight” stars could accept the award, so when MTV News caught up with Stewart at the press junket for “Eclipse,” we couldn’t resist asking her about them. “He did have some pretty funny ones,” she admitted. But when asked if she regretted not acting on any of Pattinson’s ideas, she responded, “No, no, definitely not. I’m really glad that we didn’t do his.” What was Pattinson’s best suggestion, you might ask? It seems as if he took a page right out of the book of his upcoming film “Water for Elephants” for this one. “He wanted to be hula hooping with a match in his mouth, and then he wanted to light a match while I was juggling and he was hula hooping, and he wanted to put it in my mouth and see if we could make our way over to each other … it didn’t really make a whole lot of sense to me,” Stewart said with a laugh. “I was like, ‘I can’t juggle onstage in shoes. I can barely walk up the stairs.’ ” Stewart didn’t even make it to the stairs this year before she almost fell when she went up with Pattinson to accept the Best Kiss award. At least it was a bit more coordinated than last year’s Movie Awards, when Stewart dropped her Golden Popcorn statue for Best Female Performance during her acceptance speech. “What’s really funny is I really, really don’t try to do that stuff. I try to be [smooth]. This year especially, I was like, I’m just going to give them exactly what they want, I’m going to be totally cool, I’m going to thank everybody,” she said. “I got up there, and I was like, ‘Chris directed the movie, and he’s awesome. Thanks.’ And I had to get off, like that.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . ‘Hangover’ Star Ken Jeong Talks Emotional MTV Movie Awards Speech

‘I’m crying because they took my frozen popcorn — my Golden Popcorn,’ he jokes of choking up onstage over wife. By Eric Ditzian Ken Jeong Photo: Robyn Beck/ Getty Images Has a more heartfelt awards show speech ever been given in honor of a more bizarre movie moment? Surely nothing in the history of Hollywood can compare to what went down at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards , when Ken Jeong — he of the naked, trunk-jumping beatdown in “The Hangover” — took the stage to pay touching tribute to his wife, Tran. As Jeong explained while accepting the award for Best WTF Moment , his wife was suffering from breast cancer during filming of “The Hangover,” and both co-star Bradley Cooper and director Todd Phillips provided Ken some much-needed emotional support. After the Movie Awards, Jeong spoke with MTV News about why he wanted to tell his personal story in front of millions. ” ‘Hangover’ was just the greatest moment that really changed my life,” Jeong told us outside the Gibson Amphitheatre. “And it just really reminded me how great Todd and Bradley were. They were the only people who knew at that time and they were just very supportive. Every single day, Todd and Bradley were like, ‘Hey man, how’s everything going? Is everything good? Is she good?’ It just got me through. And I don’t think people know what great people both of those guys are. “That’s what I take even more than the award, is how great they were and how cathartic working on that movie was,” he continued. “And it’s really to celebrate Tran, because she’s cancer-free the last two years and that really is a celebration. I’m so honored that she’s here and everything really is just for her.” As he said these words, Jeong again began to tear up, just as he had onstage. “I’m crying because they took my frozen popcorn — my Golden Popcorn. I’m crying!” he repeated. The ‘Twilight’ Stars’ History With The MTV Movie Awards

From Kristen Stewart dropping her award to her near-kiss with Robert Pattinson, ‘The Twilight Saga’ has provided the awards show with many memorable moments. By Amy Wilkinson Anna Kendrick, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards Photo: Getty Images As host Aziz Ansari joked at the close of the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, the “New Moon” sweep of all the categories surprised, well, no one. In fact, anyone who’s watched the Movie Awards over the past three years knows the vampire saga and the awards ceremony go together almost as well as a clumsy teen named Bella and the century-old bloodsucker who loves her. Months before “Twilight” hit theaters back in November 2008, under-the-radar stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart — wearing matching Ray-Bans — and co-star Cam Gigandet attended the 2008 Movie Awards to introduce an exclusive clip from the Saga’s first film during the pre-show — the pre-show! But by the time the trio and co-star Taylor Lautner appeared at the Video Music Awards a few months later to introduce “Twilight” soundtrack band Paramore, they’d gained plenty of buzz. In fact, many Twilighters were outraged when host Russell Brand supposedly interrupted Pattinson during his speech. Hordes of Twilighters took to the Web to express their frustration and anger at the host. Fast-forward to 2009’s Movie Awards and Pattinson, Stewart and Lautner had become worldwide superstars thanks to the runaway box-office success of “Twilight” and the ensuing “Twilight” mania sweeping the nation. “Twilight” scored five Golden Popcorns that night, including Best Movie, Best Female Performance for Stewart, Breakthrough Performance Male for Pattinson, Best Kiss for Stewart and Pattinson and Best Fight for Pattinson and Gigandet. “Twilight” nearly swept every category it was nominated in save for Best Song From a Movie, which went to Miley Cyrus instead of Paramore’s “Decode.” The cast’s appearance at the 2009 show garnered many memorable moments. While accepting her Golden Popcorn for Best Female Performance, Stewart famously fumbled her award, with it eventually thudding to the floor of the Gibson Amphitheatre stage (which is probably why one of the first things she did during her 2010 win was place the statue safely on the ground before her speech). Later, when Stewart and Pattinson won the honor for Best Kiss, the two torturously teased the audience with the possibility of a lip-lock. Pattinson took the gum out of his mouth, the two closed their eyes and leaned in, but before the pucker could take place, Stewart turned away yelling, “Thank you so much!” Though fans likely felt slighted by the Pattinson/Stewart almost-kiss, they were aptly rewarded later in the ceremony when the duo and Lautner debuted the first “New Moon” trailer, which Pattinson called “a thank-you to the fans.” A few months later at the 2009 VMA Awards, the stars doubly thanked fans by introducing an extended version of the “New Moon” trailer. At this year’s ceremony, the vampire saga finally completed its long-awaited sweep — not to mention, Twilighters got what they truly wanted: a quick onstage kiss between Bella and Edward, er, Stewart and Pattinson. Amanda Seyfried Leads Best Scared-As-Sh– Nominees At Movie Awards

Sharlto Copley, Jesse Eisenberg, Katie Featherston and Alison Lohman try to out-frighten the ‘Letters to Juliet’ star at Sunday’s show. By Jocelyn Vena Jesse Eisenberg and Emma Stone Photo: MTV News Zombies, hell, ghosts, man-eaters and aliens — these are a few of our favorite things, and they left Alison Lohman, Sharlto Copley, Katie Featherston, Jesse Eisenberg and Amanda Seyfried frightened beyond belief and competing for the Best Scared-As-Sh– Performance at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards. Sharlto Copley may have been able to fend off aliens in “District 9,” but that doesn’t necessarily mean he will be able to fight off his fellow nominees, none of whom happen to be aliens. (At least we don’t think so.) Will Katie Featherston finally be able to enjoy a good night’s sleep after a possible win for her turn in “Paranormal Activity”? Fighting zombies isn’t easy — so after staving off those annoying undead, flesh-eating creatures in “Zombieland,” will Jesse Eisenberg still have the strength to keep his competition at bay? Although a lot of people would love for Megan Fox to chase after them, her “Jennifer’s Body” co-star Amanda Seyfried wished she could get her human-eating pal off her back. However, on Sunday, Seyfried herself will be chasing after the Golden Popcorn. Alison Lohman went to hell and back in “Drag Me to Hell,” which was more than enough to prepare her for a possible trip to the Gibson Amphitheatre stage to collect an award. Don’t miss the live red-carpet coverage, exclusive movie clips and fist-pumping action on MTV News’ “Jersey Shore Blow-Out at the MTV Movie Awards,” airing live from Los Angeles this Sunday, June 6, at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
