Jussie Smollett Receives Outpouring of Love After Hate Crime Beating

On Tuesday, January 29, the internet was horrified by news of the vicious hate crime committed against Empire actor Jussie Smollett . He was beaten, called racist and homophobic slurs, doused with bleach, and a noose was wrapped around his neck. During the assault, the monsters said to him: “This is MAGA country.” Unspeakable. Jussie was hospitalized for multiple injuries, including a cracked rib from the beating. It turns out that just over a week ago, his life was threatened in a hateful letter that may be linked to the crime itself. Police are investigating it as a “possible” hate crime (that's legal jargon for definitely a hate crime ). In the mean time, celebrities are in the same place as the rest of us: shocked, angry, and wondering what they can do. They have taken to social media to voice their support for him and openly wonder at the evil in some people's hearts. 1. Jussie Smollett is Lucky to be Alive Jussie was attacked at 2am outside of a Chicago Subway on Tuesday, January 29. He was beaten by two men, who yelled both racist and homophobic slurs at him and identified him from his role on Empire. He was doused with an “unknown chemical substance,” believed to be bleach, and a noose was wrapped around his neck. He was hospitalized but released later that day. One of his injuries was a cracked rib. 2. Police are on the case TMZ reports that they’ve already acquired some CCTV footage within 12 hours of the assault, and are looking to obtain more, as well as speak to potential eyewitnesses. In the mean time, celebrities feel just like his friends do — utterly hopeless in the face of such an evil attack. And so they are tweeting their support for him, expressing shock, anger, love, and even hope. 3. Zendaya Spider-Man actress Zendaya was one of the first stars to tweet her horror at what happened. 4. Viola Davis Viola Davis is one of the most acclaimed black actresses in film or on television. 5. Janet Mock Janet Mock is a famous trans woman, and she is also a black woman. She knows as well as Jussie does how dangerous the world can be for those who are both black and LGBTQ+. Like Jussie, she has two targets on her back. 6. Andy Cohen Andy is one of the most famous gay men on the planet. This attack was a sobering reminder to everyone that an attack like this can not only happen to someone famous — it can happen BECAUSE someone is famous. View Slideshow

Kate Middleton & Meghan Markle: Relentless Bullying Leads To #HelloToKindness Movement!

Kensington Palace spends an awful amount of time overseeing negative comments directed towards Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton.  The amount of social media backlash is honestly tiring.  Can we all embrace the idea that the two royal sisters-in-law may not actually hate each other? A source tells Hello! magazine that within recent months the online bullying has greatly increased, ranging from pitting Meghan and Kate against each other to violent threats.  “The palace has always monitored comments, but it’s a hugely time-consuming thing,” the insider says. “They can block certain words but some of it is quite serious.”  Last year there were hundreds of thousands of comments, two or three which were violent threats.  According to the source, “you can delete and report and block people and the police have options around particular people.” But, it is up to the palace to manage every comment coming in, because that is the only way to control the situation and protect the Duchesses.  A lot of hours are being spent reviewing the old material and cleaning up comments under posts.  Meghan deleted all of her social media accounts prior to her marriage with Prince Harry and Kate has never had any personal pages to begin with. So, you may be wondering how the two receive such backlash when they are both absent from the social media world? However, Kensington Palace shares all the up-to-date news about the royal family, along with magazine’s social media sites. And that is where we see the trolls’ surface.  Trolls, in this case is referring to Meghan supporters vs. Kate supporters.  The source tells Hello! that some of the worst stuff is between Meghan fans and Kate fans arguing over “who looks more appropriate.” Which then, of course, escalates to personal attacks. And while the comments and arguing continue on, the source asks, “what are the consequences of this?”  In response, The Hello! magazine has launched the #HelloToKindness campaign to combat negative online behavior.  The campaign is also intended to make the trolls think twice before posting obstructive comments. Social media should be a positive and uplifting space!  Thanks to the campaign, hopefully it’ll give a ‘times up’ message to all the body shamers, name callers and well, the real peasants of the world.  Emily Nash, a royal reporter at Hello! tells CNN that she finds it all to be particularly sexist.  “You have people comparing them in a way that doesn’t really happen with men – ‘she’s walking funny, or her heels are too high, or her legs are too skinny'” Once Meghan and Harry began their relationship back in 2016, the Prince confirmed their relationship by a rare public statement, slamming the sexist and racist comments that had been targeted at his new girlfriend. The statement read:  “His girlfriend, Meghan Markle, has been subject to a wave of abuse and harassment. Some of this has been very public… It is not right that a few months into a relationship with him that Ms. Markle should be subjected to such a storm. He knows commentators will say this is ‘the price she has to pay’ and that ‘this is all part of the game.’ He strongly disagrees. James Ingram Dies; R&B Singer and Music Legend was 66

R&B legend and music icon James Ingram has passed away. The news broke about the “Somewhere Out There” singer’s passing on Tuesday afternoon after a friend shared the difficult news. Ingram was 66 years old, and was just over two weeks shy of turning 67. “I have lost my dearest friend and creative partner James Ingram to the Celestial Choir,” longtime friend Debbie Allen tweeted on Tuesday afternoon. “He will always be cherished, loved, and remembered,” she affirmed. Her tweet continued: “for his genius, his love of family, and his humanity.” “I am blessed to have been so close,” she acknowledged. Her heartfelt tweet concluded: “We will forever speak his name.” James Imgram is, as we mentioned, an R&B legend who has been a titan within the industry for decades. His best known album work was also his first Number 1 pop hit. The song, “Baby, Come to Me,” was a duet with Patti Austin. That was not his last time to top the music charts. In 1990, he once again soared to the top with “I Don’t Have the Heart.” But if you really want to talk about his biggest impact, you need to talka bout his soundtrack work. In 1986, Ingram did a notable duet with Linda Ronstadt for the animated film,  An Amiercan Tai l. That song? “Somewhere Out There.” One of the most famous songs of all time. The song reached Number 2 on the pop chart. It also won the Grammy award for Song of the Year — though the award went to songwriters James Horner and Cynthia Weil. Everyone on the planet has heard Ingram’s voice. From 1982 to 1996, Ingram was nominated for 14 different Grammy awards. Yes, that’s an average of about one per year. He won for male vocal R&B performance for “One Hundred Ways.” He also won for R&B performance by a duo or group after a collaboration with Michael McDonald: “Yah Mo B There.”: Ingram was also nominated for Oscars, both for best original song, in 1994 and 1995 for his theme songs from  Beethoven’s 2nd  and  Junior . His Oscar nominations for best original song came in 1994-95 for his theme songs from “Beethoven’s 2nd” and “Junior.” James Ingram is originally a native of Akron. He was a session keyboard player and singer in Los Angeles before his “big break.” His guest singing on the “The Dude” album was so popular that he received a Grammy nomination before ever putting out an album of his own. Ingram was also a member of the 1970s group, Revelation Funk. Notably, the group made a brief appearance in the 1975 cult film, “Dolemite.” Details about Ingram’s cause of death have not yet been released. It is believed that he has been ill for some time. He has not been active, musically, for about a decade.

Ryan Edwards to Remain Behind Bars Until AT LEAST April!

More bad news for Ryan Edwards, as the Teen Mom OG star continues to experience major fallout from his latest brush with the law. Last week, Edwards was arrested after skipping out on a $36 tab at a bar near his hometown in Tennessee. Because of an outstanding bench warrant and the fact that Edwards was on probation at the time of his arrest, his relatively minor theft of services charge could carry some major legal consequences. Ryan has been denied bail, and will therefore remain in police custody for the foreseeable future. “The case has been continued to April 15, 2019,” a judicial clerk for the town of Red Bank, Tennessee tells Radar.  “He’s going to serve time in county jail until then.” Yes, that means Ryan will be spending at least the next six weeks behind bars. After that, a judge will decide his fate — and considering the length of Ryan’s rap sheet, the father of two is likely very concerned at the moment. Edwards has been arrested four times in the past two years. Most of the charges against him are tied to his ongoing substance abuse issues. Back in November, Edwards left rehab after completing a 90-day course of treatment. Those who know the troubled 30-year-old best say that he appeared to be fully committed to the hard work of sobriety. Edwards missed the birth of his son Jagger in order to see his treatment through to its completion. His young wife Mackenzie Standifer described Ryan’s time in rehab as the longest 90 days of her life, but she remained persistent in her belief that it would all be worth if her husband were to finally get clean. On his social media page, Edwards wrote that drugs had nearly ruined his life , and he cautioned fans against following the dangerous path that had led him to the brink of destruction. Truly, it seemed as though Ryan has turned a corner. Unfortunately, less than two months after his release, Edwards was once again behaving erratically and running afoul of the law.  “Edwards had ordered six Jack Daniels Whiskey drinks, totaling $36, and left without paying for them,” reads a police report from the day of his arrest. Ryan has a court date for the theft of services charge in early February, but he will not be tried for the possession charge until April. Since October, we've known about the incident in which Jenelle Evans called 911 alleging that she had been assaulted by David. But the episode revealed new details about the incident that may shed light on David's mindset at the time of the alleged attack. Blac Chyna Goes MIA, Allegedly Ditches Daughter for Boyfriend

It is totally back on between Blac Chyna and Rob Kardashian. No, not their romance, thank goodness. But the rivalry between these exes has seemingly returned, as strong and as bitter and as personal as ever. Take what happened on Saturday, for instance. According to TMZ, Rob was preparing to drop his two-year old daughter, Dream, back home with her mother, as previously agreed upon between Kardashian and Chyna. However, when the time came to make this exchange, Chyna was nowhere to be found. A source tells the celebrity gossip site that Rob reached out to Chyna, to her nanny, to members of her team… but he couldn’t track down his former fiancee anywhere. As a result, Rob just kept Dream for himself for a little while longer — which he was happy to do as a father. But the guy was pissed over Chyna’s disappearing act. And he allegedly grew even angrier when it became apparent that Chyna has jetted off to Hawaii to hang out with Kid Buu, some very random and very tattooed rapper who has been seeing Chyna romantically of late. How do we know this for certain? Because Kid Buu posted a number of videos of the two dancing and acting all weird together during this tropical vacation. Rob, the story goes, was never told Chyna was heading out of town. This report comes about a week after Child Protective Services was called to Chyna’s home. As we detailed several days ago, someone called 911 and then called this organization because this someone believed Chyna was drunk and neglecting her daughter . When authorities arrived, they found a perfectly calm and safe setting for little Dream, prompting many to think Chyna had been set up. By whom? By Rob, she apparently thinks. “Chyna has a full-time nanny that lives at her house permanently,” a source told Radar Online, impyling that Dream was never and would never be abandoned because this nanny would be responsible for her even when her mom does take off for Hawaii. Chyna and Rob share equal custody of their toddler and the former has never once shirked this responsibility, according to this insider. Any implication to the contrary has been stirred up by Kardashian. “He is waging a bad mother campaign against her,” reports Radar. It has been claimed in the past that Rob wants primary custody of Dream — and the only real way to accomplish this goal would be for a court to think Chyna was neglecting or harming the child. “She thinks Rob saw her on Instagram and is just mad. Moms are allowed to go on vacation,” the Radar source says of why Rob has gone public with the insinuation that Chyna ditched her daughter. Concludes this Kardashian critic: “This is just another smear tactic by Rob. It’s obvious what he is doing. “This is just Rob trying to trash her in public.” That may very well be the case, but let’s be honest: It’s working, isn’t it?

Jade Roper and Tanner Tolbert: Expecting Baby #2!

It hasn’t been all that long since Jade Roper and Tanner Tolbert welcomed their first child . The Bachelor in Paradise couple has now announced even more good news. They are expecting Baby #2! On Monday, Jade Roper took to Instagram to share two photos and some very happy news. “Baby #2 is adding to our crew!!” she announces. Get it? It rhymes. “We are overjoyed,” Jade gushes. She even reveals part of the due date: “our bundle of love will be joining us in August!” Jade shared two photos, both featuring her, husband Tanner Tolbert, and their toddler, Emerson. Jade’s words continue, and she speaks directly to her future child. “We’ve been dreaming of you for a while now,” she writes. “And,” Jade’s caption concludes. “You are already loved beyond imaginable, sweet baby.” That is so precious! Notably, she has not shared whether they are expecting a boy or a girl, which is totally fine. This wee little blessing will be the couple’s second child. In fact, Baby #2 is expected to be their second child born in August. Jade and Tanner welcomed Emerson Avery Tolbert in August of 2017. If all goes according to plan with baby #2 (hey, some pregnancies surprise you!), Emerson will be two years older than her younger sibling. That is widely considered to be a healthy age gap, giving the children the chance to bond as peers but also remain spaced out somewhat. Hopefully, Baby #2 will not be born the same day or week as Emerson. That kind of thing gets super awkward. “She’s here, our little sweetheart!” Jade announced in August of 2017. “Tanner and I are very proud to announce the arrival of our baby girl this Thursday morning,” she shared. Addressing baby Emerson, she said: “There’s truly no words to describe the feeling holding you in our arms for the first time and looking into your eyes.” “We love you, precious girl,” her announcement affirmed. So sweet! In early 2018, Jade was mom-shamed for showing herself breastfeeding baby Emerson. “So, I had some comments about the picture I posted of me and Emerson after I was breastfeeding,” she wrote. “People telling me they don’t look like that when they breastfeed,” she said. “And that I was setting up a standard that’s impossible to live up to.” Notably, people took issue with her posing while wearing makeup and breastfeeding. “The truth about that picture is I had a photo shoot the day before,” Jade explained. “And,” she continued. “I hadn’t taken my makeup off, so that’s literally the day before’s makeup.” “And it was slightly staged,” Jade admitted. Please remember that any photo that is not a candid is “staged.” There’s nothing sinister about posing for a photo. “We positioned Emerson just right to make the picture [work], but that was literally right after I had fed her,” she continued. “And, Jade wrote. “She had fallen asleep on me and we do have those moments where we snuggle so I don’t get what’s so unreal about it.” She makes a very good point. “People were telling me I shouldn’t cover up,” she said. While no one should be shamed for not uncovering to feed their baby, that doesn’t mean that people should be shamed for covering up, either. “I was actually getting flack for putting a cover over my baby,” Jade marveled. “Which I just don’t understand why that would be something people would give me s–t about,” she admitted. “And my baby is feeding right now,” she shared. “And I’m still going to cover up because that’s what I feel the most comfortable with.” Some people get fully dressed in their homes. Others remain naked until company comes over. It’s always a personal choice. “I feel like I don’t need to share all of that with the world,” Jade expressed. “That’s not the message.” “It’s just that women should be able to do what they feel like they need to do for their babies,” she affirmed. Move over, Tom Cruise! There’s a new Hollywood deadbeat dad in town, and he’s not blaming his negligent ways on commands issued by his alien overlords. According to Radar Online, Brad Pitt recently reached a painful milestone: The site claims Brad has not been spotted in public with his kids in 900 days. Now, that’s not to say he hasn’t seen any of his kids. In fact, he’s probably spent time with all of them at one point or another over the course of the past two and a half years. But it is to say there are some seriously high tensions, and Brad’s relationship with his children is not what he would like it to be. Allow us to explain: As you may recall, Brad’s contentious relationship with son Maddox, 17, was at the center of Pitt’s divorce from Angelina Jolie . Jolie decided that Maddox is old enough to decide for himself if he’d like to continue having a relationship with his father, and he chose not to. Maddox’s younger brother Pax, 15, has also opted out of spending any time with Brad. Maddox and Pax’s younger siblings have not cut Brad off entirely, but it seems the actor sees very little of them — and that’s just the way Angelina likes it. “Angie secretly delights in Maddox and Pax refusing to see Brad. Besides that, she doesn’t stop them when they badmouth and complain about him,” a source close to the situation tells Radar. “Not stopping them from blasting Brad plays into her mind games.” And it seems Brad has resigned himself to the fact that he’ll never be able to mend fences with Maddox — but he wants a chance to  “Brad knows his relationship with Maddox is irreparable, but he deserves a chance with the younger ones,” the insider says. “He’s tried his best to clean up his act,” the source adds. “Brad’s sober and healthy and ready to be the best dad in the world. “But Angelina refuses to give him a chance at redemption. The Game Strongly Implies That He Slept with Kylie Jenner

The Game is not playing around. In a new track he debuted at a listening party last Thursday night, the rapper certainly hinted at a sexual past with … Kylie Jenner?!? The artist, of course, made headlines for this same single over the weekend when it came out that a few lyrics in the same make explicit references to his history with Kylie’s half-sister, Kim Kardashian. And we mean EXPLICIT references. “I held Kim Kardashian by the throat, n-gga,” The Game states in this song, according to a recording from the aforementioned party. He also hilariously/disgustingly/actually says: “I made her swallow my kids until she choked , n-gga.” The Game is saying here that Kim orally pleasured him until he ejaculated in her mouth and she swallowed his semen; just in case you weren’t certain why this line has been creating so much chatter online. The man has a way with words that may get him murdered by Kanye West , doesn’t he? As for what The Game also rapped about Kylie in this same single? “Her sister made a billion in makeup/I used to make her frosted flakes when she wakes up,” he can be heard saying in a video posted by DJ Akademiks. That certainly sounds a lot more innocent on the surface. But is The Game not basically saying here that he also slept with Jenner? What’s the alternative interpretation, that he served as Kylie’s nanny for a period of time? In 2016, The Game did rap about f-cking three Kardashian sisters . He later made it sound as if he meant Kim, Khloe and Blac Chyna, who was pregnant and engaged to Rob at that time. Considering Kylie is 21 years old… and that The Game was bringing up previous sexual conquests about three years ago… there’s nearly no chance she would have been of legal age back when the musician is claiming to have bedded her. So The Game may want to be a bit careful here. It’s funny (to us) for him to bring up Kim and Kylie in this manner. But it’s actually a serious and illegal matter if he really did have sex with, like, a 14-year old Kylie Jenner. The thing is, Kylie alleged in September of last year that she had only just tried cereal with milk for the first time . Granted, The Game does not specify in his song that he poured milk on to Jenner’s Frosted Flakes — but that seems to be the implication when he claims that he would “make” it for her. Was Kylie trying to get out ahead of this Game rumor back when she made this odd admission? Did she know it would be coming and she therefore opened up about her history with cereal in order to plant a seed of doubt in folks, knowing The Game would eventually bring up this exact topic?
