Robi Reed presents the 13th annual Sunshine Beyond Summer. The day party with a purpose. Benefiting the Red for Hope Foundation Featuring: Stevie J, Joseline Hernandez Where: Woodland Hills, California, United States When: 13 Sep 2015 Credit: La Niece/WENN.com Reality Star Accused Of Violating Plea Deal Terms In Federal Child Support Case “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta’s” Stevie J is facing major prison time after violating the terms of his plea deal in his multi-million dollar federal child support case, BOSSIP can reveal. The former Bad Boy producer appeared in Manhattan Federal Court Monday, where an angry Judge Paul Crotty admonished him for not making regular restitution payments for the $1.3 million in back child support that he owes, and for failing drug screenings. The judge threatened to make good on his threats to throw “Sleazy” Stevie in the bing – something that federal prosecutors wanted from day one. Last year, Stevie pled guilty to one count of failure to pay child support – a misdemeanor – and under the terms of his plea deal, he agreed to three years of probation and to pay back $1,304,835 in support the government contended he owed. But the judge hauled him back in court Monday after he learned that Stevie had all but stopped making payments to settle the seven figure debt. The feds also accused him of failing drug screens that were a condition of the deal. Stevie was arraigned on charges of violating the plea deal, and pled not guilty. However the judge wasn’t buying it, and told the father of five to be ready for a possible stint in federal lockup when he surrenders to to law enforcement next month. The feds had previously asked for Stevie’s sentence to include six months in prison, but Judge Crotty ruled that it would best for Stevie not to go behind bars, so he can make money for the restitution and be there for his children. But now, prison time is back on the table. It’s not clear if this case will impact his other child support case against former lover and co-star Joseline Hernandez, which is scheduled to go to trial next month. We’ve asked Jordan’s lawyer for comment.
Cruise ships are just supposed to be places where a bunch of drunk strangers form a giant petri dish of potential ailments while trying to enjoy themselves. But one recent South Pacific cruise was totally derailed by brawling passengers engaging in fights. The cruise line lays the blame at the feet at 23 members of one Italian family. Warning: the video below, which shows just one of the brawls from aboard the cruise ship, may be disturbing due to its content. At the beginning of this video — a recording of one of multiple brawls, only some of which were filmed — a quick-thinking cruise passenger on this Carnival Legends ship can at first only see the periphery of the fight. And, of course, hear the screams. Most of the passengers were apparently Australian. The man recording the video below certainly sounds like he was. As the brawl moves closer, a number of people flee to avoid being drawn into it or injured by the participants. You'd think that a fight on a boat would have a vibe like something out of a pirate movie, at least. instead, this looks like an unarmed version of The Purge . To add to the disturbing elements of this video, people who appear to be cruise ship employees are shown appearing to engage in two different unacceptable behaviors. One person who appears to work security is shown repeatedly kicking a man who is laying on the ground. It appears that someone throws themselves over that man's body to protect him. Some reports claim that the man on the ground is a 17-year-old boy. Either way, that looks horrible. Multiple employees appear to try to deter filming, which is not even acceptable when actual police do it. Some reports claim that cruise ship employees stole people's phones in order to delete incriminating videos. The key culprits in the actual brawling and fighting, however, were reportedly members of a 23-member Italian family. One cruise passenger described this “big Italian family' assailing other passengers, resulting in people “getting strangled and punched up.” “Very violent, they were full-on attacks.” At least one passenger called his father in Australia to plead for him to get the government to send help. Though members of the crew eventually locked a number of passengers in their rooms after days of terror, there wasn't really a place where they could lock up a couple dozen troublemakers. Cruise ships don't have the authority to make people walk the plank , folks. Some passengers point to what they believe to be the real culprit. One chose to blame alcohol, as many passengers have unlimited passes to the bar. Which, she claimed, means that a lot of people are just super drunk by 6 or 7 in the evening. The problem with that accusation is that this cruise ship, which was traveling from Melbourne to New Caledonia, had 2000 people on board. Two thousand. Versus what, a couple dozen — let's say a few dozen — troublemakers. This wasn't an alcohol problem, this was a terrible people being violent problem. The frightening brawls sent a number of guests to lock themselves in their cabins for their own safety. Not exactly an ideal vacation. Carnival Cruise Line says that they've sent people to provide comfort to passengers who were understandably upset. Apparently they offered passengers 25% off on a future cruise, which is … well, that's gotten a mixed reception. Some passengers aren't planning on ever going on another Carnival Cruise Line, as you may recall that some were just as horrified by the behavior of employees as they were by the brawlers. So a 25% discount — or one of 100% doesn't mean that much. Watch this video, if you're feeling up to it, and decide for yourself if that's an experience that you'd want to risk repeating:
Source: TIMOTHY A. CLARY / Getty Congress needed to pass a budget resolution by the end of Friday to fund the government, however, Democrats and Republicans can’t come to an agreement on the bill – more specifically on immigration measures. The conundrum is that Republicans are blaming the Democrats, because in order for Congress to pass the funding bill, they’ll need 60 votes from Dems. But dems are blaming Republicans because they control the White House and both sides of Congress. . @realDonaldTrump has been rooting for a “good shutdown” since May. This is the first time the government has ever shut down when one party controlled every branch of government. Republicans can't govern. https://t.co/ZziMs4BpOf — Randy Bryce (@IronStache) January 20, 2018 The last government shutdown was in 2013 and lasted 16 days. But how does that affect your day to day life? Hit the flip to find out.
T rump has made immigration such a hot button issue that even the most radical of Republicans feel comfortable coming forward with their anti-immigrant sentiments. On Fox News this past Friday night , Amy Tarkanian , who is the former Nevada state GOP chairperson (her husband is Danny Tarkanian , who is currently running for the U.S.Senate for the seventh time — lost six times from 2004 – 2016 ), debated SiriusXM radio host and NewsOne contributing editor Clay Cane about immigration. Trump wants to end DACA after a bogus report was released saying that “About one in five inmates in federal prison are foreign-born, and more than 90 percent of those are in the United States illegally.” While defending Trump, Clay reminded Amy that her and her husband (this could be why he lost six Senate races) have created an entire political career on being anti-immigrant and actually campaigned for racial profiling “just in case” someone is illegal. According to The Las Vegas Review-Journal , “Tarkanian said he supported a harsh law in Arizona, including profiling of Hispanics by police, who could ask if they’re in the country legally if stopped for any reason.” Yep, Amy and her husband advocated for police to question the immigration status of “anyone” they suspect. The Supreme Court found the law to be constitutional. Watch Clay’s classy reminder: As for the report that “one in five inmates in federal prison are foreign-born, and more than 90 percent of those are in the United States illegally.” What the report doesn’t tell you that is the majority of these undocumented workers are being incarcerated for immigration offenses — not violent crimes. Therefore, instead of the government deporting them immediately, they are kept in the prison system to get as much free labor out of them as possible. Sound very Jim Crow, doesn’t? Tom Jawetz, the vice president for immigration policy at the Center for American Progress, told the New York Times . “The administration will take any opportunity possible to twist facts to demonize immigrants. The vast majority of immigrants in federal prison are there for crimes that only immigrants can be charged with — illegal entry and illegal entry after removal. When you cook the books you shouldn’t pretend to be surprised by the results.” Undocumented workers touch the life of every American, from the food we eat to the close we wear. Our economy has depended on the cheap labor of undocumented workers for years. For 11 million who are here, they need a pathway to citizenship not remixed versions of Jim Crow laws. “Alien UFO” Spotted In LA Sky If you live in LA, or have any form of social media whatsoever, you likely saw strange bright lights shooting across the Los Angeles sky last night. You may have wondered what that was all about…or simply went with your gut instinct to call an interplanetary spade a spade and realize you were witnessing an alien invasion. Folks went into a frenzy documenting the unannounced occurrence and speculating on the end of the world as we know it. Aliens in La pic.twitter.com/8aoMntmkAg — Black Beatles (@RaeSremmurd) December 23, 2017 Of course, here comes the news, selling some day late and dollar short “explanation” of satellites being shot into orbit via rocket by the SpaceX program or some isht that actually kind of makes sense when you see the entirety of the launch — especially considering that a very similar object was spotted in the LA sky about the same time two years ago… No UFO — this is what you saw over SoCal skies tonight! ALIENS!!! Besides, the government gave a totally different answer for what it was last time, though it looked almost exactly the same. Of course, the tweets had a field day with our visitors from space and the weak wack “you didn’t really see anything” response we were all given about it… Y’all believe it was #SpaceX if you want. Florida is a weird place in so many ways. Remember a few years back, when the news was talking about people getting high on “bath salts” and eating each other’s faces ? That was Florida. But it’s no longer only in Florida. One designer drug from that family of stimulants, called Flakka, is making headlines again in other states. And every story seems more bonkers than the last. A couple of years ago, we told you about a Florida Man high on Flakka and streaking while believing that he’s being chased… but what is Flakka? Because as entertained as we are by Riverdale ‘s drug storyline about “jingle-jangle” this season, we don’t normally expect for serious drugs to have such whimsical names off of The CW’s teen dramas. Flakka is a designer drug. It’s a stimulant, also known as alpha-pvp (which sounds like an energy drink marketed to gamer bros), that belongs to the “bath salts” family. The small pink crystals can be snorted, injected, or smoked. But that doesn’t mean that it should. The issue with this type of stimulant is that delirium, violence, and erratic behavior can be the result. Particularly if someone even slightly overdoses. Most of us think of bath salts and go “oh, that’s so 2015 — it’s almost 2018 and it’s all about opioids,” but they’re making a resurgence. And despite the public association between Flakka and Florida, the designer drug is making headlines beyond America’s fetid peninsula, in places like Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, and Arkansas. A former narcotics investigator named Jason Grellner, who is now the safety and security manager at Mercy Hospital, warns Fox News about increasing ER visits believed to have been caused by Flakka. “What we see in the emergency department at Mercy is people brought in by private ambulance or law enforcement who are having a full-blown episode.” And he says that these drugs don’t just send people to the ER — they also make patients more difficult to treat. “The nursing and physician staffs are in danger from these patients.” Again, we’re talking about people who might suddenly have violent impulses and serious delusions. Also, it’s incredibly difficult to diagnose. “There’s no blood test or urine test, no way for physicians to know what the user has actually ingested. They have to treat the patient symptomatically and monitor them constantly for their mental and physical states.” And he even speaks to what patients might be experiencing: “They’re seeing double, they’re seeing dragons. They believe wholeheartedly that it’s actually occurring.” That might sound like a fun adventure, but hallucinations and delusions can lead people to harm themselves, to harm others, and generally get themselves into a whole heap of trouble. Like the Florida Man we mentioned who believed so strongly that he was being chased that he fled and refused to stop … or put on any clothes. Another man tried to break into a police station because, in his delusional state, he thought that he was being pursued. So most people aren’t hallucinating anything as fun or whimsical as dragons, folks. It sounds like Flakka takes their worst anxieties and makes them real. And we think that the four people who made headlines this month in Missouri probably didn’t have as good of a time as they’d hoped. The four of them were disrobing in the streets, barking, and breaking into multiple businesses and also into people’s homes while just completely out of their dang minds. Two of them needed to be rushed to the hospital. Flakka is hitting hard in rural communities that lack the resources or experience to deal with — or even recognize — the problem. One Tennessee precinct ran out of taser cartridges. Some residents in some areas call the police because they believe that conspirators are hiding in trees. View Slideshow: Florida Man: 21 Ways in Which He Actually Got Arrested Arresting people who are in delusional states can also be dangerous for everyone involved, as the people on Flakka may believe that the police are there to hurt them. You might think that the government response would be to make sure that dosages are carefully prescribed so that people don’t overdose. And perhaps for the government to provide (or businesses to provide) a safe environment for using them. Instead, the government has taken steps to limit distribution and to make taking Flakka and similar drugs illegal. That has not, historically, worked out so well.
A federal grand jury in Toledo, Ohio indicted a third Ohio pastor for conspiracy to sex traffic children charges, alleging that the trio enticed underaged girls to have sex for money, WOIO-TV reported. The US Attorney’s Office said the Rev. Anthony Haynes , 38, started grooming a 14-year-old victim in 2014 for prostitution and introduced the girl to other men, adding that all three of the pastors sexually assaulted her, according to the Associated Press . All three pastors pleaded not guilty on Tuesday. This third indictment came against the Rev. Kenneth Butler . Indictments on the same charges against Haynes and the Rev. Cordell Jenkins , 47, were handed down in July. Federal prosecutors combined the cases into one group of charges to facilitate the proceedings. The clergymen, who allegedly had sex with young girls at their churches and at hotels, are also accused of producing child pornography, WTOL-TV reported. The 14-year-old allegedly groomed by Hayes said she had sex with Butler, 37, in his car twice in exchange for money, and he told her to lie if investigators questioned her, according to the Toledo Blade .They face life in prison if found guilty of the federal charges. Jenkins’ attorney, Lorin Zaner , said she’s trying to keep her client and his family “upbeat” at this difficult time, adding that he has never been in legal trouble in the past, which makes this situation difficult, the news outlet stated. All three pastors are expected to appear in court in January for a follow-up hearing on how the proceedings will unfold. In the meantime, they remain behind bars. 2017 is a wild ride. The perfidious predators in Hollywood are getting exposed, but we all live in perpetual anxiety that the world will be destroyed because of an impulsive lunatic. That’s … all kind of depressing. But Kylie Jenner’s pregnancy , bizarre and unexpected though it may be, is a welcome distraction. For us. Apparently, Kylie’s finally reached the point where the realities of her condition are starting to freak her out. Though Kylie and her family are still, for reasons unknown and perhaps beyond the comprehension of us mere mortals, refusing to actually acknowledge it … The whole world knows that Kylie is pregnant. We can only assume that her comical efforts to hide her baby bump are a prelude to some “big reveal” that Kris Jenner dreamed up. (That woman really knows how to turn any unfortunate situation into a huge source of success; in another life, Kris Jenner might have conquered the world by now) Of course, some are paranoid that Kylie Jenner is faking her pregnancy . Her motives for that would be unclear. Maybe she’s trolling fans or trying to get revenge against the people who report on her life by stringing them along. That said, people who’ve spotted Kylie Jenner say that she looks pregnant. As well she ought to — she’s reportedly due in just a few months. And it looks like that looming due date, and the changes to her body, are finally getting to Kylie. Remember, she’s only 20, and she got pregnant at 19 with a rebound guy she’d been seeing for maybe a month. There’s a lot to freak out about. A source tells RadarOnline that Kylie Jenner is over her pregnancy’s honeymoon phase. “Honestly, Kylie is just an emotional wreck right now.” Well, that sure isn’t mincing any words, is it? “She does not know what to do or [whom] to trust, and she is just so vulnerable right now.” Is the issue about worrying that a “friend” will snap a photo of her baby bump? that could keep her in isolation. Or maybe Kylie’s having trouble confiding her feelings in people. That could be worse, and much more isolating. “Her age is really starting to show.” You know, it’s funny — usually, when we talk about someone’s age showing, we talk about a teacher talking about how handsome Errol Flynn was we talk about someone not knowing who Ariana Grande is. In this case, it’s not old age that’s allegedly showing — it’s Kylie’s youth and immaturity. Sure, people have said “oh, she’ll make a great mom” and praised Kylie for being mature or whatever … but that’s just something that people say. According to that same source, Kylie’s feeling scared at the moment. “She does not know how to be an adult, let alone be a mother.” Remember, Kylie is set to give birth well before she’s old enough to legally drink alcohol in the US. Yeah, alcohol and pregnancy don’t mix, but the point is that Kylie is really young for someone who’s becoming a mother. And she’s basically never had responsibilities in her life aside from appearing on a reality series. Other women become moms at her age, but most of those other women have had real jobs before and probably have more realistic ideas of what parenting entails. But RadarOnline ‘s source says that Kylie is feeling isolated. “She’s feeling so alone!” Now, all of that sounds believable. But here’s where it starts to sounds like RadarOnline ‘s source is reporting from a parallel universe where everything is all topsy-turvy: “Kylie is trying to rely on Kris, but Kris has made it clear she simply does not have the time to deal with it.” That … doesn’t sound like the Kris Jenner whom we have all come to know and love (and fear). Kris Jenner ignoring her youngest daughter doesn’t sound plausible. Kris Jenner ignoring her pregnant daughter sounds like someone’s fever-dream. There’s no way that Kris Jenner is unwilling to help Kylie through her pregnancy and her transition into motherhood. But that doesn’t preclude Kylie from feeling like Kris doesn’t care. Feelings, strange as this may sound, are sometimes less than rational. Kylie’s dealing with more right now than she’s ever dealt with before. She has a huge support network available to her; we just hope that she takes advantage of it. View Slideshow: Kim, Khloe and Kylie: All the Intel on ALL the Babies!
