In the magazine, Rihanna opened up about getting back together with Chris Brown despite their history, and despite the controversy she knew it’d cause. “After being tormented for so many years, being angry and dark, I’d rather just live my truth and take the backlash. I can handle it,” she told Rolling Stone . Basically, she’d rather be herself than be liked by you, and if you think she’s making a mistake, she’s going to own that mistake and learn the hard way. Gotta respect Rihanna for living her own life at least, rather than trying to cultivate some fake, innocent, good-girl image for the sake of marketing.
