The Voice Season 3 teams are almost set, which is probably a good thing as the blind auditions lose a little bit of their luster (a little bit) by the third week, which we’re in now. That said, they’re still fun. Let’s break down last night’s by team… Dez Duron – Sara Smile (The Voice Blind Audition) Team Christina Aguilera Her body turned around for Dez Duron (above, who returned from last season’s near-miss and advanced this year with his take on “Sara Smile.” That IS a good-looking dude, Blake! Latin singer Laura Vivas and Jordan Pruitt, who used to tour with Miley Cyrus, Vanessa Hudgens and the Cheetah Girls, made the team next. Take a look at Jordan’s effort: Jordan Pruitt – The One That Got Away (The Voice Blind Audition) Team Blake Shelton Michaela Paige, Ryan Jirovec, and Lelia Broussard made Team Blake, as did Suzanna Choffel, but only the latter’s sultry version of “Landslide” got much air time. Here’s why: Suzanna Choffel – Landslide (The Voice Blind Audition) Blake added to his team again with Terisa Griffin, whose “Someone Like You” was great, and got Christina to turn around too … albeit more reluctantly than Shelton: Terisa Griffin – Someone Like You (The Voice Blind Audition) Team Adam Levine The Maroon 5 frontman beat out Cee Lo and Xtina for Michelle Brooks-Thompson, whose take on “Proud Mary” established her as not just a decent singer but a real contender. Michelle Brooks-Thompson – Proud Mary (The Voice Blind Audition) Brandon Mahone, who sang “I Wish It Would Rain,” made a strong choice of song and delivered a powerful performance of it to boot. Diego Val, a singer from Peru who battled back from a horrible disease, wins story of the night: Diego Val – Animal (The Voice Blind Audition) Alexis Marceaux of New Orleans also wowed Cee Lo with her rendition of “Go Your Own Way” … he seemed surprised no one else turned around for it! Will you be watching the next season of American Idol ? The “American Idol” judges’ panel is now complete with the naming of singer-rapper Nicki Minaj and country crooner Keith Urban. The Fox network officially tapped the pair with an announcement Sunday, confirming rumors surrounding them both just hours before the first round of auditions for next season was due to begin in New York. The announcement also settled the status of Randy Jackson. He will stay put as the sole remaining original “Idol” judge, scotching rumors he might assume a different role on the popular talent competition. This trio will join pop star Mariah Carey at a judges’ panel now expanded to four members from its previous three. The makeup of the judges has been in flux since Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez announced their exits in July. Carey signed on later that month. Ryan Seacrest will remain as host when the show returns for its 12th season in January. “I am thrilled about this year’s judges panel,” said Mike Darnell, Fox president of Alternative Entertainment. “With an unparalleled star like Mariah, fan-favorite Randy, chart-toppers like Nicki and Keith and our incomparable host Ryan, we’ve put together one of the most exciting judging panels around.” Are you feeling the new judge’s table? The Voice’s blind auditions continued Tuesday night, the second installment of what will be a three-part Voice Season 3 premiere extravaganza week. Only 5-6 performances were aired during this truncated, hour-long episode, but some of those blindly auditioning made their mark just the same.
