A football player acting violent? No way! Where they do that at? Minnesota Vikings cornerback Chris Cook was arrested early Saturday on domestic battery charges, and the team said Cook, who has started the past three games, will not play this weekend against the Green Bay Packers. Cook, 24, was arrested without incident after someone called 911 around 2 a.m. to report hearing people across the street yelling and screaming, Eden Prairie police spokeswoman Katie Beal said. The second-year pro was booked on two charges, including one count of domestic assault, and was being held without bail Saturday at Hennepin County jail, according to online records. Prosecutors have 48 hours in which to charge Cook, who has a court hearing scheduled for Monday morning. Bob Hagan, the Vikings’ spokesman, said Cook has been ruled out of Sunday’s game against unbeaten Green Bay. Earlier, the team issued a statement saying it didn’t plan to comment about the arrest until it could learn more about what happened. “We take this matter very seriously and are still gathering all the details of the incident,” the Vikings said. Earlier this year, Cook was accused of pulling a gun on a neighbor in his home state of Virginia. A judge found him not guilty of a misdemeanor count of brandishing a firearm, saying there was insufficient evidence to convict him. Sounds like this cat needs to get his act together. Source
Before seeing Orlando Bloom and Logan Lerman in action, check out these fun facts. By Eric Ditzian Orlando Bloom and Milla Jovovich in “The Three Musketeers” Photo: Summit Entertainment When you’re sequestered in a London hotel during the finest weekend of U.K. weather that anyone in that virtually sun-free territory can remember, you tend to learn a few things. People get a little loopy. They speak off the cuff. Such is the situation MTV News found itself in earlier this month during a press day for “The Three Musketeers,” when we ended up learning a few surprising things about director Paul W.S. Anderson’s 3-D take on the classic Alexandre Dumas novel, an adaptation that stays true to the original’s creative core but takes joyful liberties no one in the 17th century could ever have imagined. Read on for five rather surprising things you need to know about “The Three Musketeers,” which hit theaters Friday (October 21). Lerman’s Crazy Hair As we first noticed when set photos popped up last year during production, and as posters and trailers have subsequently made clear, star Logan Lerman rocks a very Jim Morrison-like hairdo to play D’Artagnan, a young chap looking to join the vaunted Musketeers. But Lerman didn’t grow his hair out for the role, nor did he slap on a wig every day. “It’s extensions,” he told us. “It was really uncomfortable. A wig would have been a more comfortable choice. I felt ridiculous walking around [off set]. I just had a beanie on all the time.” Bloom’s Anti-“Pirates” Preference At this point, after the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise, Orlando Bloom approaches anything involving swords and seafaring with caution. What attracted the actor to “Musketeers” was that his director didn’t want him, for once, to play the good guy. “They wanted me to be part of the movie as Duke of Buckingham, as opposed to playing one of the Musketeers,” he said. “That sold me. The idea that I got to be the kind of villain, sort of a bad boy, bit of a rogue. Lot of fun. Fun, fun, fun! I get to be an arrogant prick and get away with it!” Jovovich’s 3-D Assets Milla Jovovich, who just so happens to be married to Anderson, insisted on doing all her fight training while wearing a corset — a noble, if highly uncomfortable, decision. For her husband’s film, though, she was willing to do whatever was necessary, including showing off her assets for Anderson’s 3-D cameras . “I did have to prepare a lot to make my cleavage what it was,” she said. “I had to eat a lot of pasta and get cinched really tightly into the corset to get the effect and let the girls do the acting for me. Each one took classes. Stanislavski. I think the left one is more talented than the right.” Bloom’s Rock Star Not only does the Duke of Buckingham act differently than Bloom’s “Pirates” good guy, he also dresses completely differently, often slipping into high heels and maintaining a wardrobe that contains every color you’d find in the rainbow (and many you would not). To pull it all off, Bloom turned to ’70s-era rock and roll. “The Duke had a questionable sexual background, no one was quite sure what his sexual flavor was or how many flavors he liked to participate in,” Bloom explained. “He’s a very outspoken and outrageous character. So for me, I just got to swagger through it all. You don’t want the costumes wearing you. You’ve got to wear the costumes. “Paul wanted the Musketeers to be superheroes and for me to be a kind of rock star. So I went with David Bowie from Ziggy Stardust,” he added. “He wore some of those outrageous costumes onstage. So with the Duke, he just owns every square foot that he steps in. He’s like, ‘This is all my territory.’ ” Anderson’s Da Vinci Inspiration Easily the most eye-popping features of “The Three Musketeers” are the fantastical airships he introduces to 17th-century Europe: part ship, part hot-air balloon, totally steampunk . In the film, the ships are said to be built from Leonardo da Vinci’s actual designs. The truth, however, owes more to artistic license than Renaissance ingenuity. “We did take our inspiration from his real etchings of airships,” Anderson told us. “We felt that Da Vinci had designed so many extreme, futuristic things that we could take the liberty of saying this is one of his designs and have this flying galleon.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Three Musketeers.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com .

She’s famous for her full, firm funbags, but now that she’s a happily married mom, Kendra Wilkinson claims she’s done stripping down on screen. Kendra just finished a press tour where she very openly discussed her sex life with husband Hank Baskett , but now that she’s back at home she’s singing a (non) nude tune. Kendra told news.com.au that “I’m more conservative than people think. I actually get shy, if it’s anything past the word sex, that’s when I blush.” She certainly didn’t seem shy on The Girls Next Door , but Kendra says she was actually quaking in her boobs the whole time: “I was very proud, but at the same time I never got used to being naked,” she said. “I never did and I will never do it again. ” What’s your take, Skin fans? Are you devastated by Kendra’s retirement? Do you think she’ll stick to covering her guns, or “once a Playmate, always a Playmate”? Take a walk down mammary lane with Kendra Wilkinson nude after the jump!
Shouldn’t it be pushed together and up? Amid shooting setbacks (the crew is reportedly still working one month before the original release date of November 23), Dimension Films has given the sequel to the skinstant classic Piranha 3D (2010) the kiss of cinematic death: they’ve pushed the release of Piranha 3DD back to the very vague “sometime in 2012”. Piranha 3D made a cool $83 million worldwide (well over its $25 million budget), so we expect Piranha 3DD will come out eventually, though the new release date means (t)it may be direct-to-DVD. Despite the setback, Dimension premiered the teaser trailer for Piranha 3DD at the Spike TV Scream Awards last night, and while there’s no naked knockers (it’s the green-band version), there’s more big bouncing bikini boobage than you can shake your stick at: Mr. Skin members can see more from Mr. Skin’s Breast Picture of 2010, Piranha 3D , right here at MrSkin.com!
A few days ago, Anita Baker called the police on a 24-year-old man who “refused to leave and banged repeatedly on her front door while singing to her.” The young man, Dwon Darnell Thompson was charged with two misdemeanor counts: stalking and trespassing. ‘These vampire movies have come out, and you go, ‘Well, nobody looks like a vampire, man,’ ‘ Depp tells MTV News. By Kara Warner Johnny Depp Photo: Pascal Le Segretain/ Getty Images Anytime Johnny Depp and Tim Burton get together for a film, fans know to expect the unexpected, particularly with their retellings of familiar stories like “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” and “Alice in Wonderland” and their next highly anticipated project, the big-screen adaptation of ’60s vampire soap “Dark Shadows.” The fan fervor surrounding “Shadows” hit a high point recently when photos leaked of a heavily made-up Depp in his full Barnabas Collins costume , followed by the production’s first official photo of the entire cast posed family portrait-style and Burton in action on set . When MTV News caught up with Depp recently as he promoted “The Rum Diary,” which hits theaters October 28, we asked what inspired the highly stylized look of the character. “The memory that I have of watching the show as a kid, Jonathan Frid and what he did with that character was the main inspiration, for sure,” he said of the actor who originated the role of Barnabas. “But also the idea of, over the years, these vampire movies have come out and vampire TV shows and stuff like that, and you go, ‘Well, nobody looks like a vampire, man. What happened?’ “I adored Dracula, still do. I adored [everyone] from Bela Lugosi to Christopher Lee. I adore Nosferatu, [played by] Max Schrek. I adore all those wonderful sort-of horror films. And it was an opportunity really, an opportunity to sort of go into what really doesn’t exist [onscreen] so much anymore, which is classic monster makeup and a classic monster character,” Depp explained. “So that was really the inspiration Tim and I talked about.” Depp and Burton’s “Dark Shadows,” which also stars Michelle Pfeiffer, Helena Bonham Carter, Chloe Moretz, Jackie Earle Hayley and Eva Green, will be released May 11, 2012. Check out everything we’ve got on “Dark Shadows.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com .
‘We knew that the budget was going to be huge initially,’ he tells MTV News of back-and-forth budget talks. By Kara Warner Johnny Depp Photo: WireImage Much like the unforgivable and unpredictable nature of the American Old West, the plight of Johnny Depp and Gore Verbinski’s big-screen adaptation of “The Lone Ranger” has been quite a bumpy ride. The film got the green light earlier this year, with Depp settled into the role of Tonto and Armie Hammer selected to play the Ranger . Then in August, Disney put a halt on the production with claims that the budget was too big. Just this week, negotiations ended on a happy note, with the production back in full swing and a tentative start date scheduled for early next year. MTV News caught up with Depp as he promoted “The Rum Diary” to find out why “Ranger” is so important to him and why the budget became such a big issue for the studio bigwigs. “I like the character. I think I have interesting plans for the character, and I think the film itself could be entertaining and very funny,” he said. “But also I like the idea of having the opportunity to make fun of the idea of the Indian as a sidekick — which has always been [the case] throughout the history of Hollywood, the Native American has always been a second-class, third-class, fourth-class citizen, and I don’t see Tonto that way at all. So it’s an opportunity for me to salute Native Americans.” With regard to the back-and-forth budget talks with the studio, Depp admitted that he and director Verbinski knew they’d be in for some negotiating from the get-go, but they also planned to be patient. “We knew that the budget was going to be huge initially, and we also knew that it was going to be shut down for a while, and it was kind of like we patiently wait — we shave a little bit here, we do a little bit there, [and] they fix it.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com .
The Freddy Got Fingered rehabilitation campaign that commenced in earnest last year with actor/writer/director Tom Green extends now to the comedy critic ranks: ” Freddy Got Fingered isn’t a terrible movie — it’s just baffling and non-formulaic. It takes sight gags that feel like they could come from a silent film and it amps them up to utterly ridiculous proportions. It’s downright visionary for Green to find a dead deer on the side of the road and put it on like a cape, or for Green to lick the exposed bone after his friend (Harland Williams) suffers a brutal skateboarding injury, or for Green to manually stimulate a horse while crying out, ‘I’m a farmer, Daddy!’ Yes, it’s funny to jerk off of a horse, but it’s also anti-comedy, comparable to Andy Kaufman or ’70s Steve Martin. It just came out in a time in which anti-comedy wasn’t ringing many people’s bells.” Discuss? [ Splitsider ]
