The Voice Results: Who Made the Top 11?

Following last week’s live playoffs bloodbath on The Voice, when 12 of the final 24 singers went home, only one got the chop Tuesday. As the competition – as renowned for its bizarre format changes as its talented crop of stars – hits the stretch run, who would survive? After Monday’s always-impressive live performances, the top 12 contestants on Season 10 of The Voice faced elimination last night. For the first time in this cycle, the results Tuesday were determined solely by viewers’ votes and iTunes downloads. No mentors’ help. Coaches Christina Aguilera, Pharrell, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton could only sit, watch, encourage and hope America got it right. Tuesday also saw the return of the Insta-save, in which the bottom two artists sang live, and viewers could vote on Twitter in real time. Heading in, it appeared that Daniel, Emily and Bryan could be at risk for being relegated to the bottom three among the final dozen. Were they? Let’s break down The Voice results … The first artists voted through to the Top 11 were Team Christina’s Alisan Porter and Team Blake’s Adam Wakefield, who killed it Monday. Team Christina’s Bryan Bautista then made it through, along with Team Pharrell’s Daniel Passino, his coach’s major comeback artist. Team Blake’s Paxton Ingram got the nod, and was soon joined by Team Adam’s Shalyah Fearing, the youngest artist left in the hunt. Adam’s protege Laith Al-Saadi then made it through, as did Team Pharrell’s duo of Hannah Huston and Team Christina’s Nick Hagelin. Finally, Team Blake’s classic country artist Mary Sarah advanced, leaving Team Pharrell’s Emily Keener and Team Adam’s Owen Danoff. Those two proceeded to sing for their lives. Keener was  first, singing “Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain” by Willie Nelson, accompanying herself on guitar and playing to her strengths. Danoff, also on his guitar, followed with “Lego House” by Ed Sheeran, which was also in his comfort zone, and it showed. He survived. Emily Keener has been eliminated. What did you think of The Voice results tonight? Did America get it right? Who do you think will take it all the way to the finals this year?

Lily-Rose Depp Is Trouble

Warning: just because Lily-Rose Depp (yes, Johnny Depp’s kid) is old enough to get stalked by the paps on her way out of the airport doesn’t mean she’s old enough for you to get any ideas about the pictures… According to my sources, she’s still only 16. So leave these to US Weekly or something, and let’s just move it along. Photos: PacificCoastNews

John Mayer may be a big douche, but he is one hell of a guitar player. In this video he grabs a fan’s guitar from the audience, plays it and then signs it. Not that douchey!

Noted Racist Ted Nugent Says He’s A ‘Motown Black Man’ And Wants To Free ‘Democratic Slaves’

Ted Nugent Motown Black Man The little bit of mind rocker Ted Nugent had has just been lost. The conservative clown, who once called President Obama a “Chicago chimpanzee” and advised black parents to “teach their children not to attack people if they don’t want to die like Trayvon Martin,” has come out as a Black man. Via Washington Times “As a large, in charge, Motown black man my bad-self, who honed my Sonic Baptizm, soul-cleansing soul music on the greasy rhythm and blues of the musical funk and roll gods James Brown and Chuck Berry et al., and who learned and then perfected the fine art of American defiance from my hero Rosa Parks, I continue to celebrate nonstop all things good and black,” Mr. Nugent, who is white, wrote in an op-ed titled, “We blacks: Democrats’ modern-day slaves,” published by the conservative World Net Daily. “My motto has always been: Black is beautiful. Minimal exposure to my killer Detroit guitar playing would immediately reveal why I was voted the No. 1 Guitarist All Time in Michigan a few years back. No cracker can play like that!” he added. The 67-year-old “Cat Scratch Fever” singer kept with the peculiar theme throughout the entire piece, referring to black men and women as “my black brothers and sisters.” “It’s been over 50 years that the modern slave masters known as the Democratic Party created policies and programs designed to keep black folk down,” Mr. Nugent wrote. “The same scams it has been pulling off for the past 50 years: enticing black folk to look to Uncle Sugar for the cure when it’s been Uncle Sugar who has put black folk on the poverty plantation. “Black lives don’t matter to the Democratic Party. They just want our vote and in turn will continue their ruinous programs that have turned our communities into ghettos, destroyed our families and conned too many of us into a life of poverty,” he continued. “Black power begins with recognizing who our real enemies are and who are friends are,” he wrote. “The Democratic Party is nothing more than a pack of wolves festooned in shiny, white sheepskin. The Democratic Party has conned us into voting for them for decades, and in every instance, our votes for them have been against our own economic self-interest. “Black folk should reject the political con-artists of the Democratic Party in 2016,” he said. “We could then look back someday with pride and say that 2016 was the year we finally looked over the mountaintop and saw the promised land of economic freedom and prosperity. I can hardly get next to myself dreaming of that day. “Happy Black History Month anyway, America. Now let’s stop the Democrat scam and celebrate real freedom with a focus on our black future,” Mr. Nugent concluded. There aren’t enough seats in his world for this man to sit his old, racist, Rachel Dolezal-wannabe azz down.

Glenn Frey Dies; Eagles Singer & Guitarist Was 67

Glenn Frey – the musician best known for the incredible string of hits he wrote and recorded with the Eagles – has passed away at the age of 67. Frey had reportedly been struggling with intestinal issues for several years. He underwent surgery in November, but the sources say the results were not as he had hoped. His passing was confirmed Monday. Together with Don Henley, Frey co-wrote some of the band’s biggest hits, such as “Hotel California” and “Desperado.” He co-wrote and sang lead vocals on a number of other wildly successful Eagles songs, such as “Take It Easy,” Tequila Sunrise,” “Lyin’ Eyes,” and “Heartache Tonight.” After the band broke up in the ’80s, Frey launched a successful solo career with such hits as “The Heat Is On.” Frey reunited with the band in 1994 for the Hell Freezes Over tour, which still ranks as one of the highest-grossing in rock history. Glenn released his fifth and final solo LP in 2012, but remained active with the Eagles until the end of his life. The band was recently forced to pull out of its scheduled performance at the Kennedy Center Honors in December due to Frey’s health problems. One of the most highly-regarded singer-songwriters of the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s, his loss leaves yet another void in the annals of rock history. Not surprisingly, he became the subject of countless social media tributes just moments after news of his death went public. R.I.P. View Slideshow: Celebrities Who Passed Away in 2016
