Leatherface Makes The Cut For MTV’s Killer Halloween

Vote for the best and scariest movie murderer in our Killer Halloween matchup. By Kara Warner Leatherface in “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” Photo: Vortex MTV’s Killer Halloween continues! We’re on a mission to find out who the best and scariest movie murderer is based on your votes, and we’re ranking these ghastly guys on their most deadly attributes. We’ve got matchups between Freddy Krueger and Ghostface, Jason and Leatherface. Check out our latest killer profile, for “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” crazy man Leatherface, and be sure to visit us every day this week to see the latest matchups! Name : Leatherface Occupation : Taxidermist, cannibal, serial killer Weapons : Chainsaw, meat hooks, butcher’s hammer, family baggage Archenemy : Sanity, vegetarians, syphilis (the reason Leatherface doesn’t have a nose) Profile : What’s not to love about a killer who wields a chainsaw and wears a mask made of human skin? Not to mention that bloody butcher’s apron — it is a killer getup, pun intended. Leatherface made his terrifying debut in 1974’s beloved slasher classic “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.” The backwoods cannibal’s gruesome appeal is enhanced by the involvement of his totally twisted, psychotic, inbred family members, who own and operate the Last Chance gas station and use it to find new victims to torture, kill … and barbecue. Horror movie expert Brian Collins of Horror Movie a Day attributes Leatherface’s appeal to his simplicity and consistency. “They never really screwed him up like the other guys. Freddy [Krueger] turned into a cartoon, Michael [Myers] was ret-conned into a henchman for some druid cult, but Leatherface was always just a simple cannibal with a chainsaw and a mask made of human skin,” Collins told MTV News. “He always had a group of other killers to play off of, making him a little more three-dimensional than the others who worked alone.” Leatherface and his family, along with their creepy cannibalistic ways, were featured in several other films following the original: “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2,” “Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III,” “Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation,” the 2003 Michael Bay-produced remake, “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre,” and a 2006 prequel, “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning.” Their appalling adventures also inspired several comic books: 1991’s four-issue series, “Leatherface,” 1995’s three-issue “Jason vs. Leatherface,” and one-off special issues like “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Special” and “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Cut!” “Leatherface is up there with Freddy, Jason and Michael as far as the die-hard horror fans are concerned,” Collins said of the chainsaw wielder’s place among favorite horror movie killers, adding that the hankering for human flesh and hacking through it is an unforgettable combo, even if he isn’t as mainstream as the likes of Freddy and Jason. “I don’t think he’s as iconic to the casual moviegoer as the others, since there haven’t been as many movies,” he said. Check out everything we’ve got on “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Demi Lovato ‘Cannot Wait’ To Perform At World Series

‘Without my fans’ support, I wouldn’t be singing the National Anthem,’ Lovato tells MTV News. By Christina Garibaldi Demi Lovato Photo: MTV News Demi Lovato is taking the field during Game 5 of the World Series to support her hometown team, the Texas Rangers. No, she won’t be suiting up and taking the mound; the “Skyscraper” songstress will be belting out the national anthem before Monday night’s (October 24) game verses the St. Louis Cardinals. “I’m so excited,” Lovato recently told MTV News of singing the “Star-Spangled Banner.” “I just nearly died when I found out. I cannot wait.” Lovato said she wouldn’t have been able to sing the national anthem at the game if it weren’t for her loyal Lovatics. She recently tweeted , “Only my lovatics could land me a spot singing the national anthem at the WORLD SERIES!!!! I couldn’t do it without you guys!!!!” So how did Lovato’s fans land her the chance to sing before her hometown crowd? “My fans were actually the ones that sent a petition saying, like, ‘Can we get Demi to sing the national anthem?’ and sent it to the MLB and the Rangers’ Twitter, and they saw it and they called,” Lovato said. “So without my fans’ support, I wouldn’t be singing the national anthem.” Now, after her performance, Lovato will be cheering on her team — but don’t ask her to pick a favorite Ranger. She is just hoping for a win. “I don’t have a favorite player,” she said. “I support my home team.” Lovato isn’t the only star to sing the national anthem at the World Series this year: “American Idol” winner Scotty McCreery and Zooey Deschanel have both lent their vocals before the big game. Freddy Krueger Kicks Off MTV’s Killer Halloween

Where does the ‘Nightmare on Elm Street’ baddie rank among other horror icons? We’re polling you all week to find out! By Kevin P. Sullivan Robert Englund as Freddy Krueger in “A Nightmare on Elm Street” (1984) Photo: New Line Cinema Get ready to scream! We’re kicking off MTV’s Killer Halloween — an in-depth competition to determine the best and scariest movie murderer — with “A Nightmare on Elm Street” baddie Freddy Krueger. Each day, we will offer up two of the fiercest competitors cinema has to offer, and we’ll ask you to rank them on their most deadly attributes. Head over to our Movies Blog poll to determine which horror icon has style to die for! We’ve already seen “Freddy vs. Jason,” so now it’s up to you to decide who wins Freddy vs. Ghostface or Jason vs. Leatherface, etc. Face your fears and check back every day this week for two new killers and another chance to decide just who is the scariest of them all! Freddy Krueger Occupation : Plant worker, school janitor (remake) Weapons : Razor fingers, dreams Arch-Enemies : Nancy Thompson, Jason Voorhees, Red Bull Profile : “One, two, Freddy’s coming for you.” With those words from a set of angelic-looking dream children, your fate is set. Freddy Krueger, the dream killer from Wes Craven’s “A Nightmare on Elm Street” series, will come at you with the unlimited power of your nightmares and not only take you out in your sleep but in the real world as well with his famous set of razor fingers. Freddy got his start in 1984 with the original “Elm Street” movie. Famously played by horror legend Robert Englund, the killer known for his burn marks was a plant worker in Springwood who murdered children in the town. (He became a school janitor in the 2010 remake.) After a legal technicality allowed Freddy to walk away from the charges without a scratch, the parents of Springwood decided to take the law into their own hands. They killed Freddy, but that didn’t stop him. Freddy returned to stalk the children of Springwood in their dreams. One by one, Freddy took his victims (including a young Johnny Depp in one particularly bloody scene), but he finally met his match in Nancy Thompson, his most famous victim. Though Craven originally conceived of Freddy as a more serious psychopath, the character’s humor came to define him in his later iteration, spouting off one-liners before taking his hapless teenage victims. The kills would take on elaborate and surreal methods. In 2003, Freddy went toe-to-toe with another ’80s horror icon, Jason Voorhees. They fought it out from Elm Street all the way to Camp Crystal Lake. The fight ended up too close to call, when Jason emerged from the water holding Freddy’s head — which winked right before the credits rolled. The remake didn’t grab hold of audiences like Freddy previously did in the 80s, but it’s never a good idea to count him out. He has a way of sneaking up on you when you least expect it. Where do you think Freddy falls in the scope of horror-movie psychopaths? Let us know in the comments! Courtney Stodden Booted from Pumpkin Patch for Revealing Outfit, Responds Via Scripture

Courtney Stodden got ejected from a pumpkin patch this weekend for… well, being Courtney Stodden. According to reports , the 17-year old and her middle-aged husband, Doug Hutchison, were simply minding their own business in Santa Clarita Valley, getting into the Halloween spirit, when parents around them complained about Stodden’s revealing outfit.

Shauna Sand Panty Flash at the Pumpkin Patch of the Day

The nice thing about Shauna Sand is that she doesn’t need a Halloween costume…since everyday is Halloween to her….She’s consistently bringing the slutty clown with skimpy tight clothes, a boytoy sidekick, stupid fake tits, and hilariously funny make-up….seriously, people need to get her work in horror whore movies. The other nice thing about Shauna Sand is that once you get her naked, her vagina is a little meaty monster with a meaty mind of its own…scary yet amazing….the shit gynecological students could use for some hands on experience in weird pussy… That said, can’t ever hate a bitch working the media with her gross vagina and stupid tits to get noticed…she brings sex tapes and any bitch willing to fuck on camera for money cuz they are too lazy or stupid for other options is a bitch for me…. I LOVED HER SEX TAPE FOR ITS ENTERTAINMENT VALUE AND SHOCKING GENITALS , and I’m disappointed she strapped that pussy up in panties for this publicity stunt, but my fascination with her vagina makes it impossible for me to not want to slip that shit to the side, like a little kid with a forget and an outlet…if you know what I mean… Here are the pics staged for the paparazzi…all amazing….mainly cuz I know she’s a mom of girls…meaning this legacy will live on for generations to come….as I cum….knotty.

Kristin Cavallari Hides Party Evidence, On ‘When I Was 17’

Next episode, also featuring Lenny Kravitz and Bryan Greenberg, airs Saturday at 11 a.m. on MTV. By Lauren Kearney Kristin Cavallari Photo: Frazer Harrison/ Getty Images We all remember party girl and badass Kristin Cavallari from ” The Hills ,” and the die-hard “Hills” fans remember where it all began: “Laguna Beach.” On this week’s episode of “When I Was 17,” Kristin takes us back in time to her “Laguna Beach” days, rehashing a Halloween rager that almost went off without a hitch. “When I was 17, my Dad got remarried and went away on his honeymoon, so I threw a huge Halloween party,” Kristin recalls on the latest episode, premiering Saturday at 11 a.m. on MTV and also featuring Lenny Kravitz and Bryan Greenberg. “Everyone was dressed up for Halloween, which makes it that much more fun. We were definitely dancing. We were drinking. My house was filled with people.” The next day, Kristin cleaned the entire house until it was spotless, leaving no evidence of the party the night before. Or so she thought. “I thought I did such a good job. And then my dad and my stepmom came home, and apparently I just missed one beer can under the couch, and that’s what my Dad found.” Busted! But we’re glad Kristin decided not to change her partying ways. After all, what would “Laguna Beach” have been without the party girl? Don’t miss this week’s episode of “When I Was 17,” featuring Kristin Cavallari, Lenny Kravitz and Bryan Greenberg, at 11 a.m. Saturday on MTV. ‘Paranormal Activity 3’: 10 Secrets Revealed

Directors Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman tease some things to look out for in the horror threequel. By Eric Ditzian “Paranormal Activity 3” Photo: Paramount Pictures Last October, on the day “Paranormal Activity 2” hit theaters, director Tod Williams stopped by the MTV Newsroom to reveal five secrets about the horror sequel — everything from the best way to break a person’s leg to why the baby in the film is possibly the greatest actor in all of Hollywood. Another year, another “PA” flick — and even more secrets revealed. The morning after a raucous screening in New York City, “Paranormal Activity 3” directors Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman paid us a visit and gave up the goods. Read on for 10 “Paranormal” secrets, then check back on Monday for their answers to a ton of our burning questions — queries that were simply too spoiler-filled to reveal before fans have had a chance to see the film for themselves (be aware, though, that there are mild spoilers below) . The Fan Camera A key issue in any found-footage movie is finding creative ways for characters to film the action. That issue becomes especially thorny three pictures into a franchise. How do you keep things fresh in a “Paranormal” flick, a series that largely confines each story to one house, the demon-haunting action captured with camcorders set up in various rooms? Joost and Schulman, along with screenwriter Christopher B. Landon, came up with a new technique that opens up an entirely new way of viewing events that is at once simple and totally scare-inducing: a camera mounted on the base of a swiveling fan. The idea was one Joost and Schulman used when they first discussed the gig with Paramount. “It’s like, ‘How would we do it if there were a ghost in our office and we only had one camera? How would we capture the whole thing?’ ” explained Joost. “We were like, ‘Would we put it on a model train and have it go around the house?’ We would put up mirrors to see stuff, or this fan idea. It turned out Chris Landon, the writer of the movie, had basically the same idea, independently of us. So when we got together for this first time, it was like, ‘Oh great, you want to do that too!’ ” The Sex Tape For “PA3,” it wasn’t just about new ways of capturing the action, but of new action to capture. That’s why you’ll see the making of the first-ever sex tape in the new “Paranormal,” one between the two central adults in the film, mother Julie (Lauren Bittner) and live-in boyfriend Dennis (Christopher Nicholas Smith). “The president of Paramount [Adam Goodman] was like, ‘I want to do a sex tape this time,’ ” Schulman said. “They always tease it in the ‘Paranormal’ movies, and at this point, everyone’s inclined to think they’re not going to do it. [Dennis] is going to ask her to film it and she’s going to say no and they’re going to turn the camera off, or she’ll say yes and they’ll turn it off right away. [Goodman] was like, ‘I want to take it there.’ It gets pretty uncomfortable. It’s like a real sex tape, which is awkward.” The Filmmaker Cameos Though they spent the great majority of their time behind the scenes, Joost and Schulman actually make cameos in the film — though you’d never be able to tell unless they hadn’t revealed the secret to us. Without diving too much into spoilers, let’s just say that at one point you see what might be a young girl or a demon hiding under a white sheet — that old clich
