Cowell is set to marry Mezhgan Hussainy, a makeup artist he’s been dating for nearly a year, the future Mrs. Cowell told RadarOnline . The 36-year-old Afghanistan-born Hussainy had been spotted with a massive diamond on her finger following a Valentine’s Day dinner, setting off a stream of speculation about whether the 50-year-old Cowell had finally decided to settle down. Simon Cowell And Mazhgan Hussainy Cowell was previously in a long-term relationship with entertainment correspondent Terri Seymour, who was attacked by an “Idol” fan last May after the show’s season eight finale. At the time, Cowell and Seymour had already ended their relationship. Cowell and Hussainy have reportedly known each other for years, having met on the set of “Idol.” While not specifying when the two plan to marry, Radar suggested a wedding might take place soon. “They are very suited,” Cowell’s publicist Max Clifford told the Web site. “She is someone who is independent and says what she thinks and feels, and he likes that. He’s probably the happiest I have ever known him in the nine years I’ve been working with him.” During a recent British TV interview with fellow “Britain’s Got Talent” judge Piers Morgan, Cowell said that Hussainy is “the one,” according to a report in the Daily Mail.
