Jay Williams, a successful video producer in Atlanta, is making headlines thanks to his personal life, in which he’s fathered 34 children by 17 women. You read those figures correctly. Man Fathers 34 Children, Won’t Get Vasectomy In a revealing letter written to spiritual and relationship expert Iyanla Vanzant, of OWN’s Iyanla: Fix My Life fame, Williams said he wants to be a better father. Williams says his relationships with his kids (ages 3-26) range from excellent to non-existent, and Vanzant is almost at a loss for where to begin. To drive home how ridiculous his situation is, she presents him with a physical representation of his efforts by bringing him 34 baby dolls to hold. He can only handle 14 at a time. “Let me ask you this question, Jay. Thirty-four children . At any point in your life, did it dawn on you [that] this is too much?” Iyanla asks her guest. “No,” Williams says calmly, and when asked about protection, somewhat astonishingly adds, “I probably would have 200 kids if I didn’t use condoms.” Williams says he never considered getting a vasectomy, nor will he, because simply. “I don’t want one … I don’t have a problem with what I created.” As Iyanla continues to grill Williams in the above clip, he grows frustrated and sets one of the toys down, saying, “I’m tired of holding the dolls.” She hands it back to him: “I’m sorry, as a mom, I don’t get not to take care of my children, no matter what I’m feeling.
