Matt Baier: Devastated Over Amber Portwood’s Pregnancy News!

Have you heard the good news? Or the technically good but still very, very concerning news, as it were? Amber Portwood is pregnant with her second child! After several outlets reported that Amber is expecting a baby with her boyfriend of approximately two seconds, Andrew Glennon, Amber confirmed it herself on Friday. She shared the news on Instagram, saying “I’m very excited for my future with Andrew and our little family we are starting together!” She also did an interview with Us Weekly in which she explained that “When I first found out, I was a little scared,” but “after the initial shock, it was nothing but happy thoughts and just enjoying my time with my boyfriend.” “I just kind of sat down and thought about it and realized that it was a big step in my life and it was a good thing actually, and I was really happy within 30 minutes.” It seems like a very short amount of time to come to terms with all that, but hey, we know that Amber isn’t really one to take things slow. After all, she and Andrew began dating in August , barely three months ago, and she just met the guy in June. It’s also worth mentioning that she met him while filming Marriage Boot Camp, the show she went on to try to save her relationship with Matt Baier. So there was literally no downtime between Matt and Andrew. And it’s not exactly like Andrew was the knight in shining armor who saved her from ol’ douchey Matt, either. Two of Andrew’s ex-girlfriends have restraining orders against him , and they’ve accused him of stalking them. He’s really and truly a creep, and in some ways, he’s even worse than Matt. And hey, since we keep talking about Matt, how do you think he’s handling all of this? Hint: not that well. Radar Online reached out to him to ask him about the pregnancy news, and it sounds like he wasn’t aware of it until they called him — his first response was apparently “You’re kidding.” When he gathered his thoughts, he said “Amber is a great mother. If this is what she wants then I’m extraordinarily happy for her and I wish them nothing but the best.” He also said that while he hasn’t talked to her “at all” since their split, he did plan to “text her congratulations.” As for his own life, he said that he’s “doing great,” and that he’s even got a new significant other himself. It can’t be easy for him though — with as many kids as he has out there and as much as he loved Amber’s fame and money, you’d have to imagine that he wanted to be the one to impregnate her. And as one of his friends explains to Hollywood Life, he really is struggling with this development. It’s because “Matt has a lot of regret about their breakup,” and “he feels like Amber is the one that got away.” “There’s still a part of him that was hoping they might eventually get back together, so this pregnancy news hit him hard.” Aww, poor guy! Except wait, they broke up because he failed a lie detector test , specifically a question about whether or not he made a sexual advance towards another woman. And also because he stole thousands and thousands of dollars from her, and said horrible, humiliating things about her on national television, and tried to control her whole entire life … the list goes on and on. So yeah, it’s definitely a good thing Amber got away from him and cut ties in such a permanent way. Now we just have to hope that Andrew manages to kep his own creeper tendencies at bay, and also that Amber somehow manages to develop some parenting skills in the upcoming months. Then we’ll be set! Uma Thurman: See Her INCREDIBLE Statement on Harvey Weinstein Scandal

For the past month or so, ever since a powerful piece was published in the New York Times, we've been talking an awful lot about Harvey Weinstein. And that's because dozens and dozens of women have come forward to accuse Harvey of sexual harassment, sexual assault, and rape . A-listers like Angelina Jolie and Gwyneth Paltrow have spoken out against Weinstein, and actresses like Rose McGowan and Paz de la Huerta have claimed that he raped them . These are just a few examples of the women who have told their stories. And now it's Uma Thurman's turn … well, almost. In an amazing little clip that's gone viral this weekend, Uma spoke to Access Hollywood at a press event for a Broadway show she's starring in called The Parisian Woman. The reporter asked her, as “a powerful woman in film,” what she thought about “women speaking out about inappropriate behavior in the work place.” While she's being asked this, you can sort of see the rage build up — it's pretty intense, to say the least. “I think it's commendable,” Uma began, then she paused for a moment before telling the reporter that she didn't have “a tidy soundbite” for her. “I have learned … I am not a child, and I have learned that when I've spoken in anger, I usually regret the way I express myself,” she said. “So I've been waiting to feel less angry. And when I'm ready, I'll say what I have to say.” It sounds like a pretty tame statement, seeing it in text, but you have to watch the way she delivers it — it's clear that she really is very, very angry, and that she definitely has a story of her own to tell. It makes sense that her story would be about Weinstein, too — he's acted as producer on several films of hers, including Pulp Fiction and the Kill Bill movies. And it also makes sense that people really want to hear her story, because really, she just sounds furious even when alluding to it. Actress Asia Argento, one of those many women who have accused Weinstein of sexual assault , tweeted this video of Uma, and she wrote “Dear #UmaThurman may peace be with you and your soul. We need your strong voice, it truly is commanding.” The rest of Twitter loved Uma's statement just as much. “God once spoke through the burning bush,” one person wrote. “This time it's through Uma Thurman.” Another speculated that “If you haven't seen this yet it seems Uma Thurman not only knows where the bodies are buried, but has neatly organized all the shovels.” “Ok let's be real that Uma Thurman video — she's getting a Hanzo sword made and is going to cut up the perverts isn't she,” one person said. And hey, if she did, would anyone be surprised? Check out Uma being completely amazing in the video below:

Harvey Weinstein Accused of Raping Asia Argento, Forcing Himself on Rosanna Arquette, Mira Sorvino

Last week, the New York Times published an exposé detailing three decades of sexual misconduct allegations against Harvey Weinstein , the wildly successful and influential film mogul who rose to power as co-founder of both Miramax and the Weinstein Company. The piece contained a number of shocking revelations, such as the fact that Weinstein settled out of court with no fewer than eight women who accused him of sexual assault or harassment. Within days of the allegations going public, Weinstein was fired from the company he helped build, following a board of directors meeting that reportedly devolved into a screaming match. In the days leading up to his dismissal, Weinstein sent letters to many of his most powerful allies begging for them to help save his career and restore his reputation. We may never know who responded to the 64-year-old’s pleas, but those who ignored him are likely glad they did, as a new report published today by The New Yorker paints an even more appalling portrait of Weinstein as an unrepentant sexual predator . Over the course of a ten-month investigation, journalist Ronan Farrow claims to have spoken with 13 women who were harassed or assaulted by Weinstein. He also interviewed 16 current and former executives and assistants at the Weinstein Company who say they have witnessed varying degrees of sexual misconduct from Weinstein. The piece also an incriminating audio recording from an NYPD investigation in which Weinstein attempts to coerce a reluctant woman into entering his hotel room. When she protests and accuses him of grabbing her breast without consent, Weinstein responds that he is “used to” engaging in that sort of behavior. Most shocking of all is the article’s revelation that Weinstein raped or attempted to rape several women over the years, including famed actresses Rosanna Arquette, Mira Sorvino, and Asia Argento. Argento says that Weinstein forcibly performed oral sex on her when she was just 21 years old. “‘He asks me to give a massage. I was, like, “Look man, I am no f–king fool,'” Argento tells The New Yorker . “But, looking back, I am a f–king fool. And I am still trying to come to grips with what happened,” she adds. Argento says she kept the encounter to herself for fear that Weinstein would “crush” her and ruin her career. “I know he has crushed a lot of people before,” Argento said. “That’s why this story—in my case, it’s twenty years old, some of them are older—has never come out.” Sorvino says she was able to rebuff Weinstein’s advances, but she believes doing so resulted in irrevocable damage to her career. “There may have been other factors, but I definitely felt iced out and that my rejection of Harvey had something to do with it,” she tells the magazine. Thus far, Weinstein and his legal team have yet to respond to this latest round of allegations. We’ll have further updates on this story as more information becomes available.

Hollywood Producer Accused Of Sexual Harassment Quotes Made-up ‘4:44’ In Apology

Source: Dave Kotinsky / Getty Really bruh? The explosive New York Times report accusing Hollywood producer and mogul Harvey Weinstein of sexual harassment includes a strange statement from Weinstein himself. The “Pulp Fiction” and “Scream” producer claims to be quoting collaborator JAY-Z ‘s  4:44 album to show his remorse, but there is no records of the lyrics he’s referencing. Weinstein’s statement: Jay Z wrote in 4:44 “I’m not the man I thought I was and I better be that man for my children.” The same is true for me. Was he thinking of these lyrics? And if my children knew I don’t even know what I would do If they ain’t look at me the same I would prob’ly die with all the shame SPIN  has the full report: Weinstein’s statement also referenced an ostensible quote from “4:44,” Jay-Z ’s song of contrition for apparently cheating on his wife Beyoncé . (Weinstein and Jay-Z are also in business together on multiple film and TV projects , including one involving Lisa Bloom , an attorney who is helping defend Weinstein from these allegations.) The quote is ridiculous on his face–having an affair is not the same thing sexually violating multiple women–and is made even more so by the fact that it’s not really a Jay-Z quote at all. INTERVIEW: ‘Killing Them Softly’ Director Andrew Dominik Discusses His American Horror Story

Andrew Dominik does not look like a guy who could teach this country a lesson. With his floppy hair, fashionable glasses and ever-present cigarette, he resembles the kind of international hipster you’d find brandishing his American Express black card in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District on a Thursday night. But don’t be fooled by appearances. With the help of Brad Pitt and an impressive ensemble of actors that includes James Gandolfini ,  the exquisite  Ben Mendelsohn and a breakthrough performance by Scoot McNairy , Dominik has made a acrid — and memorably violent — cinematic statement about the state of the American Dream that should resonate with anyone whose job has become a kill-or-be-killed battlefield in the wake of the 2008 crash. Although Killing Them Softly is an adaptation of George V. Higgins’ 1974 novel,   Cogan’s Trade , Dominik, who wrote and directed the movie, set the picture in the middle of this country’s 2008 economic meltdown and presidential election. (News coverage of both George W. Bush and Barack Obama figures in the background.) Pitt plays Jackie Cogan, a mob enforcer sent to a grim-looking New Orleans to investigate a poker-game heist, but the lowlife characters in this movie could be Wall Street bankers, film producers or overworked bloggers running and gunning to survive one more day in the rat race. There’s nothing like an outsider to point out the chinks in America’s armor, and the New Zealand-born, Australian-bred Dominik bludgeons a number of this country’s sacred cows and concepts, from Thomas Jefferson, who’s dismissed as a hypocritical “wine snob,” to “E Pluribus Unum” to the hopeful (but possibly empty) rhetoric of Barack Obama . “America’s not a country, it’s just a business,” Pitt’s character says at a key moment in the film, and given the actor’s reputation as a righteous liberal dude, it’s a brave performance. I don’t think that even Dominik would admit this, but beneath the noirish storyline, Killing Them Softly   echoes the lyrics of the Who’s classic song. “Won’t Get Fooled Again”:  “Meet the new boss/Same as the old boss.” In a frank and fairly amusing interview, Dominik, whose credits also include the excellent Chopper and The Assassination of Jesse James By the Coward Robert Ford ,  shared his views on the reelection of President Obama, the “masculine confusion” that is prevalent in Killing Them Softly,  his next planned picture, an adaptation of Joyce Carol Oates’ novel about Marilyn Monroe, Blonde,  and whether Brad Pitt can remember what it was like to be normal. Movieline:  After seeing Killing Them Softly , I’ve got to know if you were rooting for anyone in the presidential election. Dominik:   Obama.  Yeah. I ask because the message of your movie seems to be that it doesn’t matter who’s running America from the Oval office.   Well I think, obviously, that the president’s powers can be fairly limited. But Obama was a better option than the other guy. That seemed to be the rationale of a lot of voters this year.  I really believed Obama when he spoke in 2008, but  I remember watching his victory speech after this last election and it was the same speech. Exactly the same speech.  I felt like he didn’t even believe it anymore.  He seemed to be tired of saying the same thing.  He even made the same joke about the dog. Your film is distributed by The Weinstein Company, which is co-chaired by Harvey Weinstein , an avid supporter of President Obama. Was there any discomfort with the political aspects of your film?  How tight is Harvey really with Obama?  He says he’s talked with Obama.  I’m sure Harvey feels tighter with Obama than Obama feels with Harvey.  You know what I mean? But, yeah, he was uncomfortable about that stuff.  And I think Brad was, too. But I don’t know that the movie’s really pointing its finger at Obama, specifically.  It’s pointing its finger at the lie with which American was constructed — this idea that we’re all equal. Which clearly nobody believes. It takes an outsider to tell us that.  What made you decide to take a 1974 George V. Higgins novel and set it in 2008 at the time of  the 2008 economic crash and the presidential election? I guess it was everything going on at once.  I found the book, and I needed money. And everyone around me needed money.  All they were talking about was the economy.  I realized that the movie was the story of an economic crisis, and I started to see parallels between this little story and the bigger story. I’ve always suspected that crime movies are really about capitalism.  I didn’t watch The Sopranos and think Tony Soprano was a sociopath.  He just looks like a normal guy with normal problems to me.  So I felt like maybe here’s an opportunity to make a self-conscious crime film. Fiction is how we organize reality — but what are we trying to organize when we watch crime movies? I guess it’s the reality of existing in a dollar-driven society. You mentioned The Sopranos .  At its core, that series was a epic parable about the George W. Bush era, and, in some respects Killing Them Softly felt like an extension or a kindred spirit of that show. Were you inspired at all by the universe that David Chase created?  I love The Sopranos .  It’s a fucking great, great show.  But not directly as far as the movie was concerned. There are actors from the series in the movie, but I guess when you’re looking for goombah-type guys, David Chase found them all.  So there’s really no getting away from it.

Alec Baldwin Says Scorsese, Coppola, Polanski & Bertolucci Are ‘Pillars’ Of ‘Meta’ Cannes Doc

Alec Baldwin says the documentary he’s making with filmmaker James Toback , Seduced and Abandoned , continues to take shape.  I spoke to Baldwin briefly at the reception that Hamptons International Film Festival Chairman Stuart Suna threw at his East Hampton home on Saturday afternoon. There, the actor — who arrived at the party gallantly carrying his new bride Hilaria Thomas’s high-heeled party shoes — explained that interviews he and Toback conducted with venerable filmmakers   Martin Scorsese , Francis Ford Coppola , Roman Polanski and Bernardo Bertolucci will comprise the core of the project.  “They are the pillars of the film,” said Baldwin, who described Seduced and Abandoned as a “meta” documentary about filmmakers who venture to the carnival-like South of France festival to raise funds for their latest projects. The “meta” aspect of the film stems from Baldwin and Toback’s plans to appear in Seduced and Abandoned as themselves as they attempt to scare up funds for a small movie they may or may not make. Baldwin also said that the incorporation of the Cannes festival footage the men shot on Croisette in May will depend what falls under the “fair use” doctrine of U.S. copyright law. He also confirmed that movie mogul Harvey Weinstein will not appear in Seduced and Abandoned.   Weinstein drew Baldwin’s ire when he declined to be interviewed for the film at Cannes, although the two men made peace a few days later. In May, Toback told   Deadline , “We will talk to every billionaire financier in Cannes, to a few directors and movie stars to get a sense of where film is today and how it is changing as a business, and the whole evolution of Cannes from a pure festival to this bizarre mix of wildly diverse elements. It still clings to the pure notion of film, with all sorts of other ramifications from financial to maritime implications that make it so complex.” Baldwin let drop another nugget of interesting information later that night at a Q&A he conducted with actor Richard Gere at Guild Hall in East Hampton. There, the 30 Rock  star said that he might be teaching at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, where he is an alumni, in the spring. Although it’s a fair assumption that Baldwin will be teaching some form of acting class, he did not elaborate upon his comment.  I’ve put in a call to his spokesman and to NYU and will update accordingly. Also in attendance at the chairman’s reception in East Hampton were Gere, Sting, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Adam Driver and Dree Hemingway. Follow Frank DiGiacomo on Twitter. Actor Vivek Shah Arrested In Harvey Weinstein Extortion Plot: Where You’ve Seen Him Before (VIDEO)

Aspiring actors are a dime a dozen in L.A., but few would go as far as attempting to extort one of Hollywood’s most powerful movie moguls for their big payday. (One would hope… but we all know a few kooky actors, don’t we?) Not so for Vivek Shah of suburban Illinois by way of West Hollywood, who was arrested this week for allegedly threatening Harvey Weinstein and his family if the superproducer didn’t pay him millions. The Smoking Gun has the affidavit naming Shah, a 25-year-old bit actor seen on a 2012 episode of “Bones” and in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight (per his IMDb page), as the alleged extortionist who contacted Weinstein and four other high profile figures threatening their safety and that of their families. Although Weinstein is named only as “A Connecticut resident and co-founder of a film studio,” Deadline’s Nikki Finke confirmed Weinstein was the targeted victim. Above: Shah (right) posing with actor Donald Faison and Relativity Media CEO Ryan Kavanaugh at the Anti-Defamation League Entertainment Industry Awards Dinner at The Beverly Hilton hotel on October 11, 2011. It’s an exhaustive document detailing the authorities’ investigation of Shah, who bought prepaid phone cards and debit cards, used multiple false identities, and set up foreign bank accounts apparently to receive the extortion moneys in locations all over the familiar turf of L.A. actors — the West Hollywood Rite-Aid! The Gelson’s on Santa Monica! — in what the affidavit refers to as “The Scheme.” Most concerning is the bit at the end, which reveals that authorities who had been tailing Shah discovered that he was “scheduled for training in handgun shooting” at a local gun range after his return to the Los Angeles area earlier this month. Shah was arrested outside of Chicago and charged with “two counts of interference with commerce by threats, and two counts of transmitting threatening communications in interstate commerce” and could face as many as 20 years in prison.
