Steve Harvey To Include Paula Deen Seminar In Black Youth Mentoring Camp For every racist statement a non-African American makes, there is surely some Black person coming out of the woodwork to their defense. This time, it’s Steve Harvey throwing on his cape for “reformed racist” Paula Deen …and letting her mentor Black kids in the process. Via TheRoot : Dear old Paula Deen is attempting a comeback after her fall from butter-soaked grace, and Steve Harvey is trying to help. According to a press release, Deen will make an appearance on Harvey’s talk show, where he will explain her new involvement with his mentoring camp. The episode will air on Oct. 2. Harvey is allowing Deen and her team to teach culinary skills to boys from the Steve Harvey Mentoring Camp. Each year 100 fatherless boys attend Harvey’s camp in Dallas during Father’s Day weekend. During their stay the boys are taught principles of manhood and introduced to positive male role models. Sure, the mentoring camp is a great idea, but with Deen and her staff? So you’re telling me the Neelys, G. Garvin, Carla Hall and the countless other black chefs weren’t available? Of all people to choose, you go for a so-called reformed racist? “Paula and her team has agreed to take as many boys as I want to fly down to Savannah and teach them culinary skills,” Harvey says on the show. “That, to me, is how you get something from something. There has to be a good behind everything.” Harvey also realizes that his actions may receive criticism from bloggers, so he has asked them to also write “that I don’t give a damn.” Of course not, because ratings are gold. During Deen’s appearance on Harvey’s talk show, maybe there will also be more of Deen’s crocodile fritter tears cooked in lard as she begs for forgiveness. Seriously, Steve??? Sure, everyone deserves a second chance…but is a youth mentoring program specifically for fatherless black boys really the time or place to give a white woman with a demonstrated negative view of African Americans (and a strong affinity for the n-word) her chance at redemption??

Mother Who Had Sex With Underage Boy Could Be Extradited According to Mail Online A 47-year-old married mother who fled to Canada to avoid a 30 year jail sentence for having sex with a teenager faces being kicked out of the country. Denise Harvey, of Florida, was stripped off her refugee status by Canada’s Federal Court and could be extradited back to the US to serve her sentence. Harvey has been told she had a final chance to argue that she should be allowed to stay. Harvey fled from her home in Florida in 2010 after being convicted of having sex with a 16 year old who was friends with her teenage son. She was sentenced to 30 years but while out on bail fled to Canada with her husband and family. She was granted refugee status after saying she faced ‘cruel and unusual punishment’ from the lengthy prison sentence. Canadian authorities agreed to allow her to stay ruling her actions would not constitute a crime if she had carried them out in Canada. In Canada, the age of consent is 16 unless the older person is in a position of authority over the younger person. The decision was appealed to the Federal Court of Canada who have now stripped Harvey of the refugee status. Prosecutors in Florida are hopeful that Harvey will soon return to serve her sentence. ‘We’ve been actively pursuing her but of course we were dead-ended by the Canadian government who granted her refugee status,’ said Nikki Robinson, assistant state attorney who was a prosecutor of the original case. ‘I’m hoping we’ll see her back.
