Another Quake Hits Taiwan

shanghaiist Another eathquake occurence in Taiwan this morning at 10:59 am local time. It has reached 6.5 magnitude on the Richter Scale. Its epicenter is 150 miles south-southwest of Ishigaki-jima in Ryukyu Island Japan. There were several quakes felt in Taiwan, but today’s earthquake hits the largest. Five hours earlier another earthquake struck 50 miles east-northeast of Ishigaki-jima. Another 4.6 magnitude hit at 12:09 PM approximately 155 miles south-southwest of Ishigaki-jima. Taiwan is located along the Pacific Ring of Fire wherein quakes often occur. No major damages and casualties were immediately reported. Update: Bret Michael’s Doctors Looking For Source of Bleeding

Bret Michael still remains in ICU after suffering from a brain hemorrhage. Doctors are running more tests. He’s in critical condition and is under a 24 hour doctors’ care and supervision. They are positive that further tests will locate the source of the bleeding, which has not been located until this time. Michael suffered excruciating headache and most patients experience this as the first tip-off to this kind of hemorrhage. This situation stresses the importance of seeking emergency medical care. The doctors’ goal is to locate the aneurysm. There are a small percentage of subarachnoid hemorrhages where sometimes the aneurysm has already ruptured and it’s difficult to locate. It may be too small that makes the aneurysm from being seen by an angiogram. If detected, it can be treated through surgery. A New World Record Set By London Marathon Runners

London marathon runners have set a new world record. About 36,000 people took part in this year’s London Marathon. They were wearing different fancy dresses. Princess Beatrice becomes the first royal to complete the race. She was part of the group who set a record of the highest number of interlinked runners to finish. She was a part of a “human caterpillar” and they were connected two-by-two by bungee cords. They got a record of 5:15:57. Tsegaye Kebede, an Ethiopian athlete, came first among the elite runners with a time record of 2:05:18. Russia’s Liliya Shobukhova was the leasing woman who got a record of 2:21:59. Tony Audenshaw, an Emmerdale actor, was the fastest celebrity to finish the marathon this year and also the world’s fastest baby. He crossed the line in 3:13:00. David Ross, account manager, the fastest cartoon character. He dressed up as Fred Flintstone and was carrying an inflatable club while running. He crossed the line in 3:07:00. Police officer Jill Christie was wearing a Superwoman outfit and grabbed the record for the quickest female superhero. The fastest leprechaun was financial analyst Ben Afforselles from Hamstreet, Kent. Kevin Robins became the quickest runner in an animal costume, a tiger outfit. Jose Tomas: Star Bullfighter Was Badly Gored in Mexico

One of the Spain’s top bullfighters, Jose Tomas, was badly gored during a fight in Mexico. The matador is now in serious condition and was brought to the hospital after losing several liters of blood. During the Saturday’s fight in Aguascalientes, he acquired a 4-inch (10cm) tear to the groin when Navegante, a 1,100 pound (500kg) bull, pierced him. The injury had punctured one of Tomas’ veins and an artery. He was immediately operated at the scene. Tomas, 34, was profusely bleeding which made the officials appeal over loudspeaker for compatible donors from the crowd. Tomas has a rare blood type A+. Kick-Ass Star Aaron Johnson’s Fiancée Is Twice His Age

The superhero film Kick-Ass stared by Aaron Johnson was the number one movie at the box office last weekend. The Kick-Ass star is engaged to be married to his seven-months-pregnant fiancée British artist Sam Taylor-Wood. Taylor-Wood is now 43 years old and this shows that she’s 24 years older that Johnson. The British artist is already a mother of two from an 11 -year marriage to an art dealer Jay Jopling. Johnson is madly in love despite the age difference and existing family she has. The couple met in 2009 on the set of her directional debut, Nowhere Boy. They got engaged after several months and started to live together. Johnson would always react to critics in a positive way. He would always say that he’s an old soul and she’s a young soul. He becomes the step-father of Taylor-Wood’s 2 children, Angelica and Jessie. Johnson, 19, is excited for the arrival of their baby this summer. He’s not scared of the challenges of fatherhood because he already has two step-children. Tornado hits Mississippi

Atleast ten were killed when an almost a mile wide tornado hit the cities from the central western border with Lousiana northeastward to Alabama. It happened as the the dawn broke Sunday. Rescuers prepared to reach the most affected areas. Death toll is expected to increase. Power lines toppled, teared roofs off houses, damaged cars as the Tornado passed through the cities. According to the spokesperson of Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA), Jeff Rent and Greg Flynn, two of the dead were children and one was a three month old baby, five were from Choctaw County, four from Yazoo County, norht of Jackson, one from Holmes County and central Mississippi. Several houses were severely damaged. 50 in Holmes County, 30 homes in Eagle Lake near Louisiana Border. Due to downed trees and other damages, some part of some Highways in Yazoo and County Holmes were closed specifically Highway 3 in Yazo0 County and Highways 14 and 17 in Holmes County. Victims of the Tornado were brought to King’s Daughters hospital in Yazoo where only one doctor was on duty and one nurse to facilitate during the Saturday night. President Obama was already informed about the incident and according to Barbour, the President has plans to request federal aid on Monday. The tornado had traveled 150 miles across the Mississippi, moving from the western part to northeast part of the state according to CNN meteorologist, Jacqui Jeras.
