MSNBC News Anchor David Shuster Suspended Indefinitely

huffingtonpost High profile news anchor David Shuster has been indefinitely suspended by MSNBC,an American cable news channel, for participating in a test of a new show for competing news channel CNN Suspension for Shuster took effect just days after the New York Observer reported that he was on a pilot show CNN taped recently. “David has been suspended indefinitely,” a network spokesman said Tuesday morning. “..Mr Shuster’s test was unacceptable..be punished appropriately…” Shuster’s contract with MSNBC is reportedly expires this year in December. CNN’s pilot episode featuree Shuster and National Public Radio’s Michael Martin. MSNBC and CNN are competing for airtime ratings having  Fox News well ahead of both, so doing a pilot episode for one while working for the other is a major problem. Shuster has been a correspondent and anchor for MSNBC since 2002, and has covered such major events as Hurricane Katrina and Presidential campaigns. He was also part of MSNBC’s daily anchor rotation. Before MSNBC, he worked at the Fox News Channel from 1996 to 2002 as a Washington, DC based correspondent. Shuster previously ran afoul of MSNBC management when, in 2008, he was suspended for two weeks after making a joke the network found “irresponsible and inappropriate.” He was allowed on air to apologize and then suspended. Nicollette Sheridan of Desperate Housewives Seeks $20M Lawsuit Against Show Producer Marc Cherry

British actress Nicollette Sheridan, Edie Britt of ABC’s “Desperate Housewives,” filed lawsuit against Marc Cherry, creator-producer of the said show for the alleged assault and wrongful termination. In the Superior Court in Los Angeles, lawsuit filed last Monday.  Sheridan claims that the show’s producer hit her in the face in the Wisteria Lane set in September 2008. Based on the case filed, Sheridan asked Cherry about a line in the script, and he “took her aside and forcefully hit her with his hand across her face and head,” the suit said. After she stormed off to her trailer, he came to “beg forgiveness.” Sheridan’s allegations said that Cherry retaliated by killing off her character in the popular series after she reported the incident to the management of ABC. The lawsuit filed seeks $20 million in sustained damages. This also includes ABC, accuses Cherry of creating a hostile work environment on the set and behaving aggressively and abusively toward the cast and the writers. ABC Studios said in a statement Tuesday, “While we have yet to see the actual complaint, we investigated similar claims made by Ms. Sheridan last year and found them to be without merit.” A call to Cherry’s company, Cherry Alley Productions, wasn’t immediately returned Monday night. When Teri Hatcher, who plays Susan Meyer on the show, spoke to ABC executives about Cherry’s behavior, Cherry told Sheridan, “I hope Teri Hatcher gets hit by a car and dies.” Sheridan argued that her character was one of the lead characters of the show, and was getting more airtime that season. Edie Britt is not featured in the show’s opening credits. “It is exceptionally unusual for a popular character to be killed off or written out of a television series unless the actor has requested to be released from his or her contract,” is how Sheridan’s lawyer sees it. Brittany Favre gives birth to a son; NFL Viking Brett Favre a grandfather

ESPN confirmed today that Brett Favre ’s daughter Brittany Favre gives birth to a son. Brett Favre is now a happy grandfather; an NFL quarterback grandfather! There is still no news yet if Brett Favre’s going to play in the 20th NFL season. Maybe having a grandson will also be a factor for Brett Favre if he still going to play or not. Favre released this quote about his grandson earlier: “Deanna and I are very proud to welcome Parker Brett to the Favre family. Lollapalooza 2010 Lineup Announcement – The members or lineup of the Lollapalooza 2010 has already been announced in public. This year Lollapalooza will be held on August 6-8, 2010 live at the Chicago Grand Park. Tickets will be cost at around $215 for a three-day pass and $850 for special VIP packages.
