TIME Magazine Lists Fluoride as "Environmental Toxin"

SIC SEMPER TYRANNIS!!! A report from TIME.com lists among other household Items – Fluoride- as an “Environmental Toxin”. The article starts out, saying: “Chemicals in plastics and other products seem harmless, but mounting evidence links them to health problems — and Washington lacks the power to protect us” Of course, activists and scientists have for years been aware of fluoride’s toxicity, but propaganda and Big Pharma have sought to keep these facts from the general public by showing fluoride in a favorable light through the controlled media. The article went on to say that “Government studies support current fluoride levels in tap water, but studies on long-term exposure and cancers are ongoing”. What It Is: A form of the basic element fluorine Found In: Toothpaste, tap water Health Hazards: Neurotoxic and potentially tumorigenic if swallowed; the American Dental Association advises that children under 2 not use fluoride toothpaste What You Should Know: Government studies support current fluoride levels in tap water, but studies on long-term exposure and cancers are ongoing So, What are the lethal levels for humans? As of April 7, 1997, the United States FDA (Food & Drug Administration) required that all fluoride toothpastes sold in the U.S. carry the following poison warning: WARNING: Keep out of reach of children under 6 years of age. If you accidentally swallow more than used for brushing, seek professional help or contact a poison control center immediately Potentially fatal dose = 5 mg of fluoride per kg of bodyweight. Ingestion of fluoride can produce gastrointestinal discomfort at doses at least 15 to 20 times lower (0.2–0.3 mg/kg) than lethal doses. [7][8] A 2-year-old, for example, may experience gastrointestinal distress upon ingesting sufficient amounts of flavored toothpaste. Between 1989 and 1994, over 628 people—mostly children—were treated after ingesting too much fluoride from their toothpaste. Gastrointestinal symptoms appear to be the most common problem reported. [9] In 1986 the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) established a maximum contaminant level (MCL) for fluoride at a concentration of 4 milligrams per litre (mg/L), which is the legal limit of natural fluoride allowed in the water. In 2006, a 12-person committee of the US National Research Council (NRC) reviewed the health risks associated with fluoride consumption[12] and unanimously concluded that the maximum contaminant level of 4 mg/L should be lowered. The EPA has yet to act on the NRC's recommendation.[13][14] The limit was previously 1.4 – 2.4 mg/L, but it was raised to 4 mg/L in 1985.[15] Excessive Fluoride consumption in studies has been shown to be the culprit in the following; A weakening of bones, leading to an increase in hip and wrist fracture Adverse effects on the kidneys possible liver damage Chromosomal damage and interference with DNA repair a correlation between increased fluoride and low IQ suppressive effects on the thyroid While it is refreshing to see the truth about Fluoride being published in the mainstream media, it is disappointing to see, that when most people are told about the devastating effects of Fluoride in our drinking water, toothpaste, and other household items – they ignore the facts, or even categorize these facts as just another “Conspiracy theory”. http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u205/Crowcaller/2005-5-15-fluoride1reals22.jp… Read more: http://www.time.com/time/specials/packages/article/0,28804,1976909_1976895_19768… http://www.time.com/time/specials/packages/completelist/0,29569,1976909,00.html#… added by: Dagum

Health Care: A Nurse May Soon Be Your Doctor

A recent study says that there may be a shortage in doctors. A nurse may soon be your doctor. With a threatening scarcity of primary care doctors, 28 states are considering expanding the authority of nurse practitioners. The nurses with advanced degrees and legitimate experiences want the right to practice without a doctor’s screening eye and to prescribe narcotics. If they hold a doctorate, they also wished to be addressed as “Doctor.” Over the years, nurse practitioners have been playing a bigger role in the nations’ health care, most definitely in regions with fewer doctors on duty. Countries like Philippines, Indonesia and other Asian countries have been employing nurse practitioners all over the world, and without a doubt, can soon be helpful in developing stress-free health facilities. With 30 million more Americans gaining health insurance within a couple of years, the health care overhaul is investing more financial allocation to manage nurse clinics. The health care overhaul law gave nurse midwives, a type of advanced practice nurse, a Medicare raise to 100 percent of what obstetrician-gynecologists make and that may be just the beginning. Ryan Tedder Doesn’t ‘Remember’ Telling Lady Gaga To ‘Be Careful’

But the OneRepublic singer does say that, as an artist, ‘you gotta take care of your health first.’ By James Montgomery, with reporting by Akshay Bhansali OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder and Eddie Fisher Photo: MTV News Here’s the thing about OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder’s recent comments about Lady Gaga in People magazine: He doesn’t remember actually making them, but that doesn’t mean he’s backing down from them either. A quick refresher: Late last month, after footage surfaced of Gaga nearly collapsing onstage during a concert in New Zealand (an incident she chalked up to “jet lag”), Tedder supposedly told People that he was concerned for LG’s health. “Gaga has to be careful,” he was quoted as saying. “She’s already larger than life. How do you get larger than that?” It seemed like a fairly harmless comment, though as it began to make its way around various gossip sites, all of that changed. When MTV News spoke to Tedder and his OneRepublic mates last week, we decided to ask him to clarify his statement. And, as it turns out, he did a lot more than that. “I’ve had two or three people ask me about that, and I had friends who picked up People magazine last week or the week before, and they’re like, ‘You’re in People, someone asked you about Lady Gaga,’ ” Tedder said. “I don’t even remember saying that. To be honest, I don’t even know that I did. ” At press time, a rep for People had not responded to MTV News’ request for comment. While Tedder doesn’t recall saying he was concerned about Gaga’s health, he freely admits that he is. After all, he’s been through the wringer a time or two and knows how taxing and tormenting it can be, and he doesn’t want to see Gaga go down the same path he did. “I’ve only met her once, but I had, like, a two-hour conversation with her nonstop the first time that I hung out with her, right before ‘Just Dance’ came out, and thought she was the coolest, smartest [person]. I was like, ‘God, she’s got her crap together.’ She was legit,” he said. “So I don’t know her, I don’t pretend like I know her, but the fact that I, for a moment, connected with her humanity, and I know how hard we work, and I know the schedule after ‘Apologize’ blew up … the longest stretch of time we were home in a row, for about 13 months, was two and a half days. And that can push you to a brink, where your job becomes who you are, and you end up reaching a breaking point, where all of a sudden you hate it, and you just want to quit. “Or you get sick — we pushed it so hard earlier this year, we were touring with Rob Thomas, and every single day was ‘show, promo/press during the day, show that night,’ and I lost my voice and got swine flu,” Tedder continued. “And the doctor was like, ‘Look, I’ve dealt with a lot of you artists. I’ve had Kanye in here, I’ve had R. Kelly, I’ve had all these different people come through my office. … If you don’t slow down, your body will shut you down completely.’ And so, if you’re collapsing onstage, I don’t care how much money [you have] or how much you love your ‘Little Monsters,’ you gotta take care of your health first. For anybody. For us. I mean, we’ve had to slow down.” So while Tedder isn’t trying to preach, he just hopes Gaga will slow things down a bit. But, knowing her reputation, he’s not sure she will. “My hat goes off to her. Nobody works harder than Lady Gaga. Nobody. She is unbelievable. I don’t know how she sleeps, or when or if,” he said. “But I know people who work with her, and they’re like, ‘She is the most dedicated, committed, hardworking person around.’ ” To be honest, Tedder isn’t even upset that something he may (or may not) have actually said has gotten twisted up. Far from it. If anything, he’s sort of used to it by now. “I’ve had different quotes. Like, something involving Simon Cowell a long time ago, and the British press got a hold of it, and it was like me and Simon were fighting,” he said. “And then something recently about me ripping on a producer that did our first album, which never happened. It’s just funny.” What do you think about Ryan’s explanation? Do you think Gaga should take it easy? Let us know in the comments! Want to Know the Secret to Jake Gyllenhaal’s Bulbous Biceps?

The much awaited movie Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time will soon be out in theaters around the world. It is an action-adventure fantasy film based on the 2003 video game. It will be released first in Europe which will have its premier on May 19, 2010 in France, Sweden and the Netherlands and in Germany on May 20. While in the United Kingdom it will be released on May 21 and on May 28 in the U.S. The movie stars Jake Gyllenhaal as Prince Dastan. Dastan is a street urchin in sixth-century. He paired-up with Princess Tamina to rescue the Sands of Time, which is a gift given by gods that controls time. Gyllenhaal got noticeably buff for his role as Prince Dastan. His secret in achieving the hulking build didn’t involve gym membership, but it has a lot to do with the French martial art of Parkour. Parkour is also known as freerunning. It is a physical role. Gyllenhaal is committed to it and gave his 110 percent. He worked with David Belle, the person who created Parkour. He also worked with a lot of gymnast. He started his work-out by jumping off a lot of things that were padded and learned the fundamental stuff. He then started slowly working on harder surfaces, and was really careful with his every move. He went a little further and a little longer and a little higher and he just kept it up. He did most of his stunts in the movie. Determination, perseverance and commitment are very important qualities that you must have in order to get what you want. Friendly Health Inspector of the Day

I like this Health Inspector’s style. You go into a donut shop you are inspecting. You see that it is owned by Asian immigrants and the wife seems pretty decent looking. You ask her to show you the back room where the Donuts are made. You put on a serious face and shake your head a lot and make pensive “hmmm” sounds to get them nervous. Then the second you get the bitch in the back you give her a hug, to tell her how nice she is and how much you appreciate her Donut shop, and bitch blows it up into this whole “he did it to get a thrill and took advantage of his authority” and I did it “cuz I was scared he was gonna shut me down and this is my life and my American dream”….well maybe that’s how people do things in Cambodia, but in America, hugging is what friends to to each other, even new found friends…and we don’t videotape the set-up and try to sue the county to live the real American Dream since Donut Shops aren’t as lucrative as they used to be….
