Charles still-somewhat-fat-a$$ always poppin’ that isht about folks…SMH Charles Barkley has been pretty busy lately — perhaps in an attempt to occupy time that could otherwise be spent eating. The svelte Barkley has been pitching Weight Watchers along with handling his usual duties on TNT’s “Inside The NBA.” The outspoken NBA Hall of Famer has also been turning up on all sorts of other programs, appearing on The Daily Show” and even hosting “Saturday Night Live.” But even with all of that on his plate to distract him, Barkley has still had his fill of Tebowmania. Talking to Mike Missanelli 97.5 the Fanatic in Philadelphia on Tuesday, Barkley was asked about Tebow and the Broncos’ improbable overtime victory over the Steelers in the Wild Card round of the NFL Playoffs. Never one to pull punches, Barkley didn’t hide his feelings about Tebowmania. “The national nightmare continues. Hey, listen, I like Tim Tebow but there comes a point, he had a great game. He’s supposed to have a great game,” Barkley said. Missanelli then asked Barkley if he has had enough of Tebow. “I think the world has,” Barkley replied. “First of all, Mike, I don’t know anything you said about Tebow but let’s just say the jury is still out on Tebow. He seems like a nice kid but these ups and downs are so different. The jury is still out on Tebow. They need to fire this scuzzbucket, PRONTO!! A paramedic has been arrested in connection with allegations he raped a 22-year-old woman while she lay strapped to a stretcher in the back of an ambulance. Hamden police said Mark Powell, 49, of North Haven sexually assaulted the Hamden woman on Dec. 25 at 3 a.m. while she was being transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital after suffering a fall at a holiday party. Police said the woman awoke in the ambulance to find Powell raping her. She told police she could not move because she was strapped to a stretcher. The woman contacted police after being discharged from the hospital, police said. “She awoke in the rear of the ambulance to find she was being sexually assaulted by the AMR employee at a time she couldn’t speak or move due to fact she was strapped to a stretcher,” said Hamden Police Capt.. Ronald Smith. Detectives said the first-degree sexual assault lasted 5 to 7 seconds, but they can’t discuss evidence. On Thursday, police charged Powell with first-degree sexual assault and first-degree unlawful restraint. He was released on a $25,000 bond, and is scheduled to appear in court in Meriden on Jan. 19. Powell, who was a paid paramedic with AMR in New Haven, has been put on administrative leave. Eff a “administrative leave,” this guy needs to be fired and locked up…even if the assault only lasted “5 to 7 seconds.” Source

We’ll never understand why women keep men away from their kids who willingly want to play a role in their kids’ lives… According to TMZ , not allowing Chris Bosh’s daughter to see him play in the NBA Finals last year wasn’t the only reasonable request her mom Allison Mathis shut down for no reason. According to court docs filed in Bosh’s custody case in Maryland, Bosh’s baby mama, Allison Mathis, has refused to speak to Bosh directly since April 2011 — instead communicating only through lawyers. Bosh alleges Mathis has repeatedly either ignored his requests to see 3-year-old Trinity or only allowed him to see her for fewer days than their custody arrangement dictates. Bosh filed docs a few months ago to have Mathis held in contempt and a court date had been set for July 12. But Bosh recently requested to have that date moved up because he says it conflicts with training camp for the U.S. Olympics team. A judge has yet to rule. Allison must not realize that now that Chris and Adrienne are married and expecting, the only reason she still has custody is because he’s letting her.

This is getting old, Republicans. Kansas House Speaker Mike O’Neal (R-Hutchinson) apologized Thursday for forwarding an email referring to First Lady Michelle Obama as “Mrs. YoMama” and comparing her to the Grinch. The subject line of the email reads “Twins separated at birth?” It includes side-by-side pictures of Michelle Obama and the Grinch with similarly windswept hair. According to the Lawrence Journal-World, the forwarded part of the email reads, “I’m sure you’ll join me in wishing Mrs. YoMama a wonderful, long Hawaii Christmas vacation — at our expense, of course.” O’Neal forwarded the email to House Republicans and added the text, “Sorry, just had to forward the latest holiday message! I’ve had worse hair days but this is pretty funny.” He said Thursday he was sorry to those he offended, adding that he missed the text in the body of the email. He said, however, that the picture “made me laugh.” Earlier his communications director defended him, saying that political cartoons are a “part of American culture.” And the picture in question? This was the man behind the trigger during Thursday’s shooting at Virginia Tech. Police say Ross Truett Ashley, 22, stole a car at gunpoint Wednesday from his landlord’s office in what would be a precursor to the events a day later: On Thursday, police say he killed the police officer, then turned the gun on himself in a parking lot on the campus. “Ross wasn’t that kind of person. He was friendly, nice,” said Nic Robinson, a 21-year-old history major at Radford University preparing for law school. “Obviously, he had his bad days, but it was the same as anyone else having those days.” The most notable setback in his life that Robinson knew about was Ashley’s breakup over the summer with his girlfriend. It clearly hurt him, she said, but she never saw him obsess over it. There were other issues in Ashley’s life, however, that he wasn’t as forthcoming about, she said. “We all have our family problems, so the way that he was saying it just made it kind of seem like, ‘just another thing to add to the list,” she said. “He never made anything sound like, ‘This is serious, I need you to sit down.’” Ashley never talked about guns or weapons, and she said she never knew whether he owned or knew how to use one. NBA spokesman Mike Bass says: “It’s not true that the owners killed the deal, the deal was never discussed at the Board of Governors meeting and the league office declined to make the trade for basketball reasons.” The Lakers trade to obtain Hornets’ Paul for Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom hit a snag Thursday night, sources tell ESPN.com’s Marc Stein. Sources said that a group of NBA owners, assembled in New York for the ratification of the league’s new labor pact with the players, protested vigorously that the league-owned Hornets were trading Paul to the star-studded Lakers and convinced NBA commissioner David Stern to intervene. After it fell through, Paul simply wrote, “WoW,” on his Twitter page. The Houston Rockets were the third team in the trade and would have obtained Gasol from the Hornets in return for Luis Scola, Kevin Martin, Goran Dragic, and a 2012 first-round pick that Houston received from the New York Knicks, sources said. Looks like David Stern will make the first day of practice awkward for all parties as teams gather on Friday for the first time this season. Lamar Odom took to his Twitter page to share in the confusion: If this had gone down we most definitely seen some tears shed on E! when the next season of Lamar and Khloe’s reality show starts back. Odom, the NBA’s sixth man of the year last season whose marriage to Khloe Kardashian and E! network reality show put him at the center of Hollywood’s love affair with the Lakers, sounded devastated to be leaving his adopted hometown in an interview on 710 ESPN radio earlier Thursday.
