SHOCKER: Avatar Returning to Theaters in August with New Footage

OK, maybe not much of a shocker: After Avatar was released on a flimsy and featureless DVD back in April with promises of a more lavish, extended edition this fall, one could only presume that meant a theatrical return to Pandora was in the cards for late summer. And lo and behold, Fox has announced that the highest grossing movie of all-time will add even more money to its coffers when Avatar returns to theaters Aug. 27 with eight minutes of new footage. So which movies opening that weekend will stand in James Cameron’s way and prevent Avatar from reaching No. 1 at the box office for an eighth time since December?
