Dawn Robinson Accuses Producers Of Faking Drama For Ratings Divas star Dawn Robinson (formerly of En Vogue) recently revealed the meeting her and fellow cast-mates had where the were told they were “boring” and needed to amp up the drama to ensure the show’s success. Via 4umf reports: “Because we were such a part of the show, the producers speak to us midway and said, ‘You guys have a boring show.’ And I said at the meeting, ‘Is that because we’re not fighting against each other? We’re not pulling each other’s hair out? We’re not negative against each other? Is that because we support each other, and we’re loving towards each other as women? You want to see the negativity because in your mind, drama is what gets the ratings.’ “But at the same time right now, what we’re seeing is that the show so far – and this is midway through filming. So this is half way through filming – what we’re seeing now is that the show, so far the four episodes that they’ve shown have been very positive and very loving, and people are reacting to the positivity on the show. And so, they have the highest rating in TV One history, our show is the highest rated show in TV One history, and that’s positivity. This show is not negative so far, and yet you guys have the highest rated show in TV One history without any drama? That says a lot – that means it was never necessary in the first place. North West is clearly a ridiculous baby name. But according to a Kim Kardashian insider, it’s ridiculous for a reason you might not expect. Someone supposedly in the know tells TMZ that Kimye did not name its daughter North West due to the direction , but rather as a metaphor for “up.” Huh? “What’s North of North ? Nothing,” the source says, explaining that Kardashian and West see the moniker as their pinnacle, as their “North Star.” And Kris Jenner echoed this very odd sentiment today on The View , telling the hosts of her granddaughter’s name: “The way [Kim] explained it to me was that North means Highest Power, and she says that North is their highest point together… I thought that was really sweet.” It’s something alright. Gun violence has actually plunged in the U.S. since its peak in the middle of the 1990s, according to two new studies of government data. At the same time, a majority of Americans believe it is on the rise . Gun crime statistics are comprised of murders, assaults, robberies and other crimes, and the Pew Research Center found that they’re down overall. In less than two decades, the gun murder rate has been nearly cut in half, their research suggested, while other gun crimes fell even more sharply. This parallels a broader drop in violent crimes committed with or without guns, which peaked during the 1990s and has fallen sharply since then. The decline has been more modest since the turn of the century, but overall, the number of gun killings dropped 39 percent between 1993 and 2011. The Bureau of Justice Statistics reported in a separate study released Tuesday that gun crimes that weren’t fatal fell by 69 percent in that time. However, guns still remain the most common murder weapon in the U.S. Also notably, despite this measurable drop in gun crime, only 12 percent of Americans surveyed believe gun crime has declined compared with 1993. Twenty-six percent of those polled said they believed that it had stayed the same in the past two decades, and 56 percent thought it had increased. It’s unclear whether media coverage is behind that, but crime has become a growing focus of TV news, and several recent events have been extremely high-profile. From the Connecticut shooting to the Aurora movie theater massacre, the Boston bombing and beyond, it’s hard to escape coverage of the worst tragedies. Also, while the rate of violent crime is down, it’s got a long ways to go. While violence has dropped, the United States still has a higher murder rate than most other developed countries, though not the highest in the world. Experts have no simple answer for why violent crime is down, attributing it to everything from a diminishing crack cocaine market to surging prison populations. Some researchers have even linked dropping crime to reduced lead in gasoline, which can cause increased aggression and impulsive behavior. Victims of gun killings are overwhelmingly male and black, according to Bureau of Justice Statistics and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Compared with other parts of the country, the South had the highest rates of gun violence, including both murders and other violent gun crimes.

Detroit Most Dangerous City In The U.S. According to CBS Detroit It’s a clean sweep for Detroit, but nothing to be proud of, as the city takes the top three spots on a list of the most dangerous neighborhoods in America. The study by NeighborhoodScout.com analyzed FBI statistics from 17,000 local law enforcement agencies to pinpoint neighborhoods across the country with the highest predicted rates of violent crimes per 1,000 residents. Researchers drilled down deep into cities and towns to find specific census tract areas that had the highest rates of homicide, forcible rape, armed robbery and aggravated assault. According to the study, the area east of the Barton-McFarland community in zip code 48204 is the most dangerous neighborhood in America. The study said the chances of becoming a victim of violent crime in this west side community over the course of a year are one in seven. According to NeighborhoodScout, one of the more devastating events in this neighborhood over the past year was the closure of the public library — where children took remedial reading and math classes and adults used public computers to apply for jobs. Sharing similar statistics is the Islandview community in the 48207 zip code on the city’s east side, which ranks as the second most dangerous neighborhood on the list. It’s in this neighborhood where, according to the study, housing costs have gone down so dramatically that a 3,300 square-foot property sold for just $800 — down from $70,000 in 2002. The study said the chances of becoming a victim of violent crime in this community over the course of a year are one in seven. Coming in as the third most dangerous neighborhood in the country is the area between Ravendale and LaSalle College Park in zip codes 48213 and 48205. The study said the chances of becoming a victim of violent crime in this east side neighborhood are one in eight. About 40 percent of the households here have four or more cars — more cars per household than in 96 percent of the country, according to NeighborhoodScout.
