Brawl at Baby Shower Leads to Four Arrests

Three Massachusetts men and a 14-year-old boy were reportedly arrested Saturday night in connection with a violent brawl … at a baby shower. Bottles and punches were thrown and furniture was smashed. Police say 24-year-old Patrick Cardoso Lopes; 24-year-old Paulo Pires Depina; and 22-year-old Aderito Lopes Deandrade, all of Brockton, were arrested . They are scheduled to be arraigned Monday on charges including disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and assault and battery on a police officer. The 14-year-old’s name was not released because of his age. Police say they responded to a function hall in Stoughton at about 11:45 p.m. Saturday and found as many as 200 people involved in the fight. One sparked, apparently, by uninvited guests. The fight, involving women, went on in front of children. Sgt. Daniel McGowan called the scene a “nightmare.” Another word might be “cluster*%k.”

Tommy Lee Jones: Not Impressed at the Golden Globes!

Move over McKayla Maroney . Tommy Lee Jones is here to show you what it means to truly be unimpressed by something noteworthy. Among the highlights of last night’s Golden Globe Awards, Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig presented the trophy for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy. But while everyone at home and everyone in attendance laughed uproariously at their attempt to praise the nominees – for movies they apparently never watched – Jones looked more angry than entertained. WATCH: ‘Django Unchained’ Star Christoph Waltz Talks Tarantino And Working With Uggie

“I witnessed the genesis,” Christoph Waltz says of this season’s hot awards contender, Django Unchained .  ” Quentin [Tarantino] l et me have twenty-thirty pages as he finished them !” Looks like Waltz and Tarantino have become true creative partners.  But the actor, whose performance is one of the highlights of Django Unchained , would love to get even more involved. He lamented that he wasn’t able to be around for post-production when the film takes shape and “it really becomes interesting,” he said. In a one-on-one interview, I also asked him about foreign actors being stereotyped in Hollywood as villains, and he agreed that — as a good guy in Django Unchained — it always “feels good to break the cliche”.  Plus he spills a secret about working with Uggie , Tinseltown’s top pooch, on Water for Elephants . Dead Sushi’s Rina Takeda and Noboru Iguchi: The Mr. Skin Interview

They are the most unlikely of collaborators: a fresh-faced, wholesome karate star barely out of her teens and the poop-obsessed director of Mutant Girls Squad (2010). But fate did bring Rina Takeda and Noboru Iguchi together, and the result is Dead Sushi (2012), the kooky horror-comedy that was one of our highlights of Fantastic Fest 2012. Rina stars as clumsy waitress/sushi nunchaku master Keiko, and while she doesn’t engage in the naked antics of her co-stars Aiko Hashiuchi, Maaya Morinaga , and Marin , she’s still managed to high-kick her way right into our hearts. We talked to Rina and Noboru through a translator in Austin, TX, and you can read the results after the jump!

She’s no Jeffrey Gutt , but Julia Bullock, an 18-year-old from Charlotte, N.C., made a good enough impression on the judges to make it through to Boot Camp too. Her version of Foster the People’s “Pumped Up Kicks” was one of the highlights last night on The X Factor, which clearly used up most of its talent Wednesday.
