It has gone viral in a major way, and its sudden ubiquity earned creators Adam Smith and Stacy Lambe an invitation to the State Department to meet their muse. Ever the good sport, Clinton is a fan of the meme just like everybody else and even created an entry of her own , which she autographed for Smith and Lambe, writing, “Adam — Thanks for the many LOLZ Hillary ‘Hillz.’ ” “I don’t think anyone ever imagines that they’d create a meme like this and it becomes an overnight sensation,” Smith told Politico . “It’s just been a wild ride.” The conceit of the site is that Clinton is a no-nonsense power player with a penchant for telling it like it is. The wedding is off for Heather Locklear and Jack Wagner. Just three months after the couple announced their engagement, news broke today that the couple has called off those plans, with no explanation given. Her rep says, “Jack and Heather are no longer engaged.” The two, who started dating in 2007 after she divorced Richie Sambora, were last seen together in September celebrating her 50th birthday in Hawaii. Locklear stepped out solo to the Breaking Dawn premiere Monday night in Hollywood, walking the event’s black carpet without her engagement ring. Here’s wishing them both the best going forward.

Bobby just can’t get right… Bobby Brown caused a ruckus at DJ Cassidy’s 30th birthday party on the USS Intrepid by pulling a waitress’s hair when she walked away from him as they were talking. R&B bad-boy Brown got into a tangle with the catering staffer before he performed with his ’80s band New Edition at Cassidy’s celebrity-packed birthday bash onboard the aircraft carrier Wednesday night. A source told us, “During the band’s sound check earlier that evening, Bobby was talking to one of the waitresses, but she walked away from the conversation before he was finished talking. Then Bobby pulled her ponytail. She complained to her bosses, and Intrepid security called event organizers.” Of course there is always two sides to every story, so: A representative for New Edition tells New York Post gossip column Page Six, “He made it in time for the gig, and the band got dressed as fast as they could.” The rep also dismissed rumours Brown got himself into trouble by pulling a waitress’ hair at the party, adding, “It wasn’t anything detrimental or anything. Time to update your African map again. Congratulations to the brothers and sisters in South Sudan — who have finally gained independence after decades of civil war. The United States on Saturday recognized the Republic of South Sudan, the world’s newest nation, as a sovereign and independent state. President Barack Obama said in a statement that, “This historic achievement is a tribute, above all, to the generations of southern Sudanese who struggled for this day.” South Sudan became independent after civil wars that spanned more than 50 years. Millions of people died in the conflicts as the black African tribes from the south battled the mainly Arab north for independence. The warring sides reached a peace deal in 2005. The country’s flag was officially raised for the first time over Juba, South Sudan’s capital, on Saturday after the speaker of the legislature made a formal proclamation of independence from Sudan.. Obama said the people of South Sudan and Sudan “must recognize that they will be more secure and prosperous if they move beyond a bitter past and resolve differences peacefully.” “Lasting peace will only be realized if all sides fulfill their responsibilities,” he said. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said the U.S. will remain a “steadfast partner” as South Sudan seeks to build a free, democratic and inclusive society. “The strong ties between our peoples go back many decades, and we are committed to continuing to build on the partnership we have already established in the years ahead,” she said. Clinton commended the government of Sudan on its decision to be the first to recognize South Sudan’s independence. It’s been a long time coming but independence is finally here for South Sudan. This year has seen so many drastic changes across the world. We hope that violence and bloodshed can be a thing of the past in South Sudan and wish the people a prosperous start for their new nation.
