“Black Mafia Family Wives” may be coming to a television screen near you, featuring the wives of the infamous Black Mafia Family (aka BMF), which at its height operated a multi-million dollar national drug ring based out of Atlanta. BMF co-founder Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory is currently serving a 30 year sentence for allegedly trafficking 2,500 kilograms of cocaine a month. It is reported the operation made up to $270 million dollars. Big Meech’s brother Terry ran the organization’s West Coast operation and is serving a 30 year prison sentence as well. Gricelda Chavez, Lisa Buford, Tiffany Gloster, and Tonesa Welch are shooting a pilot with Strange Fruit Media and according to Ozone Magazine , they are hoping to land a TV deal. Here’s the breakdown of the cast: Terry’s wife Tonesa Welch, who calls herself the “First Lady of BMF,” appears to be the Shaunie O’Neal of this whole venture and hopes to help tell Terry’s side of the BMF story. Gricelda Chavez, who was involved with music producer Damon Thomas (incidentally, although not as famous as Kris Humphries, he is also a Kim Kardashian divorcee). Damon was a player in a BMF money-laundering scheme involving jewelry purchases and, when confronted with the evidence, agreed to cooperate with the government as a witness against Terry. Lisa Buford’s man “PJ” was a high-ranking BMF affiliate on Terry’s side of the organization. Tiffany Gloster and her man Jerry “J Rock” Davis were both indicted by the DEA on BMF-related charges in 2007. Tiffany served a two year sentence for her part in helping to launder the proceeds from J Rock’s cocaine sales. J Rock is currently serving a sentence of 39 years and 10 months in prison. “I was watching this lawyer#39;s commercial and it was talking about the side effects of this drug, and I was on that medication because of my weight,” the star of the hit History Channel show Pawn Stars tells us. “I went and got a Lap-Band put in and the weight just started falling off. It was like someone took a backpack full of rocks off of you.” It was one night a year ago when he was lying in his bed, all 365 lbs. of him, when Corey “Big Hoss” Harrison realized his weight was out of contro
A new television ad about the U.S. national debt produced by Citizens Against Government Waste has been deemed “too controversial” by major networks including ABC, A&E and The History Channel and will not be shown on those channels. The commercial is a homage to a 1986 ad that was entitled “The Deficit Trials” that was also banned by the major networks. Apparently telling the truth about the national debt is a little too “hot” for the major networks to handle. But perhaps it is time to tell the American people the truth. In 1986, the U.S. national debt was around 2 trillion dollars. Today, it is rapidly approaching 14 trillion dollars. The American Dream is being ripped apart right in front of our eyes, but apparently some of the major networks don't want the American people to really understand what is going on. The truth is that the ad does not even have anything in it that should be offensive. The commercial is set in the year 2030, and the main character is a Chinese professor that is seen lecturing his students on the fall of great empires. As images of the United States are shown on a screen behind him, the Chinese professor tells his students the following about the behavior of great empires: “They all make the same mistakes. Turning their backs on the principles that made them great. America tried to spend and tax itself out of a great recession. Enormous so-called “stimulus” spending, massive changes to health care, government takeover of private industries, and crushing debt.” Perhaps it is what the Chinese Professor says next that is alarming the big television networks: “Of course, we owned most of their debt, so now they work for us”. added by: GLOBALPOLITICAL
Designed to be both essential history lesson and costume weeper, Princess Kaiulani comes up short on both fronts: Deadly earnest intentions and lack of dramatic gumption ensure that the story of Hawaii’s favored daughter remains under-told. Skimping on detail and narrative depth, the film manages to misuse its embarrassment of natural resources — beautiful brown people in Victorian garb, for one thing; the tetchy notion that British colonization suited the Hawaiians better than American imperialism did, for another — in its determination to honor them with a queasy blend of History Channel import and Merchant-Ivory sweep.
