He may have been the target of a drive-by shooting attempt, but rapper Rick Ross is laughing in the face of mortal danger these days, literally. Stepping out in L.A. Thursday with a big smile on his face and a fat cigar in his mouth, he couldn’t look less like a guy worried about being offed. The Rick Ross shooting attempt in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., caused him to crash his car into a building January 28, but he was unharmed, and unfazed. It’s pretty clear that someone has it out for him – a Chicago gang even made a death threat late last year – but he’s just layin’ back and doin’ his thing. A little too casual, 50 Cent and other conspiracy theorists might say. Fiddy’s gone on record alleging that Ross may have staged it all. Was it a hoax?   Maybe. No holes in the car. Or Rick. No! The omnipresent Rihanna is at it again, showing some skin, smoking like a fiend and generally not giving any f–ks in the new issue of Rolling Stone . As always, acclaimed photographer Terry Richardson has outdone himself, as has the Barbados native with a series of provocative and sexy ensembles: She also enjoys smoking. Maybe you’ve noticed. In the magazine, Rihanna opened up about getting back together with Chris Brown despite their history, and despite the controversy she knew it’d cause. “After being tormented for so many years, being angry and dark, I’d rather just live my truth and take the backlash. I can handle it,” she told Rolling Stone . Basically, she’d rather be herself than be liked by you, and if you think she’s making a mistake, she’s going to own that mistake and learn the hard way. Gotta respect Rihanna for living her own life at least, rather than trying to cultivate some fake, innocent, good-girl image for the sake of marketing. Then again, she’s made a living off the good-girl-gone-bad image, so maybe she’s onto something. Or she just really loves Chris, and marijuana. Anyway, check out a bunch more Rihanna pics below!

Bow Wow Upset With Kandi Burruss Over Jermaine Dupri Snub Forever five-foot rapper turned 106 & Park host Bow Wow is yet again doing what he does when he has nothing better to do: running his mouth. The Young Money mini man was reportedly none too happy to find out that his former label mate and RHOA cast member Kandi Burruss declined to attend the upcoming 20th Anniversary event for So So Def Records.  Bow Weezy felt that Kandi’s decision not to attend the event due to a prior scheduling conflict was a slap in the face to So So Def bossman Jermaine Dupri, who was largely responsible for the success of Kandi’s former group Xscape. Mr. Moss took to his Facebook with this message to put Kandi on blast: “JD likes to keep quiet but… Yo Kandi is wack for not wanting to show up for jd for “20th anniversary so so def show” put ego to the side and give the fans what they want and understand w/ out jd know no one would even know who you are. You aint Michael, this aint the Jackson 5. She act’n like she booked out like she too busy! Better yet dont come. The ones thats there are the ones who really got love for JD and the history of the label.” Bow Wow’s “loyalty” is admirable, but should he be really be trying to check Kandi when he had his own issues with JD not too long ago? Surely whatever reason Kandi has for not attending can be handled between she and Jermaine. Must have been a slow work day for Shad…

Betsy Andreu: Furious at Lance Armstrong for Oprah Interview Admission

On Thursday night, Lance Armstrong admitted to performance-enhancing drug use during an interview with Oprah Winfrey. But Betsy Andreu wishes the disgraced cyclist has come even more clean during the much-hyped sit-down. Betsy Andreu Blasts Lance Armstrong Andreu was mentioned in the Q&A because she has been on record as saying she overheard Armstrong admit to doping in 1996 while he was in the hospital recovering from cancer treatments. Armstrong told Winfrey that he recently called Andreu to apologize for slamming her as a crazy liar over the years – but he dodged the question of whether that hospital incident actually took place. “I thought maybe there is a chance for him to change,” Andreu told Anderson Cooper last night. “It was such a big step. Maybe I’m stupid. I was willing to give him a second chance.” Every reference to her in the chat with Winfrey left Andreu “furious” she said because “he could have come clean. He owed it to me.” “He’s cherry picking the truth,” she said. “If he’s willing to go out on a limb and speak so publicly and say he cheated and lied and defrauded the U.S. government, then why not tell the truth about the hospital room. Earl Weaver Dies; Hall of Fame Manager was 82

Earl Weaver, the legendary ex-manager of the Baltimore Orioles, passed away early this morning on a cruise in the Caribbean. He was 82 years old. A Hall of Famer, Weaver won 1,480 games and was well-known for both his temper and his penchant for the three-run homer. He collapsed with his wife, Maryanne, by his side and never regained consciousness, according to The New York Daily News . Said Orioles owner Peter Angelos in a statement: “Weaver stands alone as the greatest manager in the history of the Orioles organization and one of the greatest in the history of baseball.” Weaver took the team to four World Series and won the 1970 title. “This is a sad day for everyone who knew him and for all Orioles fans,” Angeles said. “Earl made his passion for the Orioles known both on and off the field. On behalf of the Orioles, I extend my condolences to his wife, Marianna, and to his family.”

Ronaiah Tuiasosopo: Behind the Manti Te’o Girlfriend Hoax?

With Manti Te’o expected to speak later today and address the girlfriend hoax that has left a country baffled, let’s turn our attention for a moment over to Ronaiah Tuiasosopo . A 22-year old whose relatives include a pair of former NFL players, Tuiasosopo played high school football in California and is reportedly a huge fan of USC. Many believe he has either been working with Te’o on this cover-up or he’s the “Catfish” behind the scam and has been posing as Lennay Kekua for years in order to punish Te’o for choosing Notre Dame over USC. The original Deadspin article that broke this hoax lists Tuiasosopo as the individual who obtained the photo that was believed to be Lennay, the one associated with her Twitter and Facebook accounts (above). TMZ, meanwhile, has posted a long article that details the story of a Notre Dame fan who thought she was interacting online for weeks with Lennay’s sister – but when she arranged to meet the sibling at a football game, Tuiasosopo showed up instead. Ronaiah “made it seem as if he was a member of Kekua’s family,” the TMZ report reads, with that site’s source providing it with the phone number she was given to call Lennay’s sister. It is registered to a man named Titus Tuiasosopo, Ronaiah’s dad. Tuiasosopo has not spoken about his alleged connection to the hoax yet, but the question at this point doesn’t seem to be whether or not he was involved. Merely whether or not he was working with or against Manti Te’o.

Pawn Stars Wedding: Rick Harrison, Deanna Burditt to Marry!

Pawn Stars’ Rick Harrison and Deanna Burditt have set a wedding date. On July 21, the 47-year-old reality star will tie the knot with his fiancee. Initially planned for Las Vegas, the wedding will now take place at the Ritz Carlton in Southern California’s Laguna Beach. Expect Rick to be privy to every detail. “She sticking me with all the planning!” he tells People . “It will be a lot of friends and family,” Harrison said. “It started off with about 40 people and it’s well over 100 people now. You know how those things go.” Danny Koker of the History Channel’s Counting Cars will become an ordained minister to marry the couple, and Pawn Stars’ Chumlee is set to be the ring bearer. “I can’t make that up,” he said. “I just had no idea there was so much involved. I just thought you got a cake, had a party, buy a keg. But we’re getting it done.” It’s been a busy few months for Rick, given the Pawn Stars lawsuit , the firing of Olivia Black , and the whole campground trashing thing. Crazy times. Congrats to the couple!

Newtown Tragedy: Crazy Connecticut Shooter Adam Lanza Shot His Mother In The Face With Her Own Gun After She Taught Him How To Use Rifles

Adam Lanza learned to shoot with his mother, an avid gun collector. Adam Lanza Used Mother’s Gun For Newtown Murders Via RadarOnline reports: Now Nancy Lanza is dead, shot in the face by her 20-year-old son who used one of her own weapons to commit the murder, before heading off to Shady Hook Elementary School and slaughtering 26 more students and staff. “She said she would often go target shooting with her kids,” local business owner Dan Holmes told Reuters. He added that she once showed him a “high-end rifle” that she’d purchased. Nancy Lanza also has a son, Ryan, 24, from her marriage to Peter Lanza. Both Peter and Ryan have successful careers in the financial world. As RadarOnline.com has been reporting, Adam Lanza, who many sources have said was “troubled” or “disturbed,” shot his mother and then went to the school where she’d previously worked and killed 20 students and six staff before taking his own life. The weapons he took into the school were a Glock and a Sig Sauer, both semiautomatic hand guns, and a .223 Bushmaster, a military-style assault weapon. They were all legally purchased by and registered to Nancy Lanza, who reportedly owned at least two additional high power firearms. Connecticut State Police Lt. J. Paul Vance said authorities are now “investigating the history of each and every weapon” that Adam Lanza carried to the scene of the rampage. Also in Wednesday’s news round-up, Joel Edgerton is eyeing to star in next Natalie Portman pic; Andy Samberg is set to take on the Spirit Awards ; Top Gun is flying toward IMAX; and Hobbit mock-buster gets a new title. The Hobbit Tracking for $70 Million Opening Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey looks like it will take in $70 million-plus at the box office this weekend, putting the 3-D pic on par with the Lord of the Rings franchise. On the same weekend in 2003, The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King opened to $72.6 million in North America, THR reports . Joel Edgerton Eyes Jane Got a Gun Edgerton is in talks to join the Lynne Ramsey-directed Western action pic Jane Got a Gun , which stars Natalie Portman and Michael Fassbender. Top Gun Aims for IMAX in 3-D The 1986 Tom Cruise feature has been remastered in 3-D, which the late director Tony Scott supervised. Top Gun will head back to the big screen for a six-day IMAX engagement beginning February 8th followed by the latest Blu-ray release in a 3D/2D two-disc set coming February 19, Deadline reports . Age of the Hobbits Set for Cambodian Release Under New Title Backers of the mock-buster who were stopped by a Federal judge Monday from releasing their film with the title saying it could be confused with Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey , will now release the pic under the title, The History of Mankind in its native Cambodia, THR reports .
