The Repub candidate tried to redeem himself tonight, but it fell on deaf ears. During a live forum on Univisions “Meet the Candidate”, Mitt had this to say in disguise as an apology for insulting those who “feel entitled” to health care, food, and housing: “My campaign is about the 100 percent of America, and I’m concerned about them…I know I’m not going to get 100 percent of the vote, and my campaign will focus on those people we can think we can bring in to support me…”But this is a campaign about helping people that need help.” B*tch please. The “forum” was also Mitt’s chance to address the Latino community that he’s struggling to win over. Robney was asked serious questions on immigration, the main focus of the night, and gave his usual aloof answers when it came to self-deportation, the Dream Act, and undocumented immigrants (or illegal immigrants as he likes to call them). Mitt’s solution to that “little” problem; veto the Dream Act and encourage “self-deportation”, which basically causes “attrition through enforcement,”; making life so difficult that “they” would choose to leave. SMH Refusing to give a solid answer on the problem, Mitt dodged the questions left and right. “I’m not in favor of a mass-deportation effort, rounding up 12 million people and taking them out of the country…I believe people make their own choices as to whether they want to go home and that’s what I mean by ‘self-deportation.’” Oh ok…now we get it. According to The Huffington Post: Romney has been evasive on how he would deal with undocumented immigrants currently living in the country. Obama has said he would support giving some immigrants legal status if they meet certain requirements, including paying a fine. Romney has refused to say whether he would end Obama’s new deferred action policy that removes the deportation risk faced by some undocumented young people who would be helped by the Dream Act. Romney was repeatedly pressed to say whether he would end the policy, but only said he doesn’t need to answer because he would fix the issue through legislation. That was no comfort to many immigration advocates, who know the difficulties of passing immigration legislation in Congress. “Are you going to deport them or not? Yes or no?” Salinas asked Romney, as translated to English by Univision. “We’re not going to round up people around the country and deport them, that’s not — I said during my primary campaign, time and again, we’re not going to round up 12 million people … and have them deported. Our system isn’t to deport people.” Salinas pressed on. “That’s your answer, that you’re going to allow them to stay?” she asked. “I’m not going to be rounding people up and deporting them out of the country, we’re going to put in place a permanent solution,” Romney replied. Apparently Pacquiao felt Mayweather crossed the line when the fighter accused him of using performance-enhancing drugs. Manny filed in 2009 and has denied the claims since day one. According to ESPN , Pacquiao’s team defended their suit: “Calling a professional athlete a cheater is the most serious charge one can make,” the lawsuit said. “Accusing an athlete of using performance-enhancing drugs — however baseless and lacking in evidence — is toxic.” Floyd got the news while he’s dealing with two other issues: He was caught in a domestic dispute with his ex , (and Mother of one of his daughter’s), Melissa Brim and his Boy arch nemesis 50 Cent has been tweeting pics and boasting about his new collab with Manny Pacquiao! Conservative pundit Gary Bauer, the former president of the Family Research Council, which puts on the Values Voter Summit each year, told the crowd at the 2012 conference Friday that it needs to turn out in great numbers to defeat President Obama’s army of welfare recipients and fraudulent votes. After his speech, Bauer told TPM “voter fraud is rampant in urban areas” and he expected that to help Obama. Bauer also told TPM that “there are a lot of people who will vote this November because they depend on government largesse,” meaning checks from Washington. He expects those voters to go Obama as well. “They will vote for their own perceived interests, which is they don’t want anybody cutting back the size of the checks,” Bauer said. On stage at VVS, he made a similar case, but said hard-working Americans will turnout in stronger numbers. “There’s a lot of people out now around America who depend on checks from their fellow taxpayers being in the mailbox every day,” Bauer said. “They will turn out in massive numbers, but so will the entrepreneurs, the small businessmen and women, the military families, the soldiers in harms way, the millions of Americans that want to hope again.” That last set of voters, Bauer said, will turn things for Romney. As for voter fraud, Bauer claimed Republicans will have to contend with lots of fake votes from the big cities. But he said those Obama votes won’t be enough either. “My prediction is after all the votes are counted — even the dead votes of Democrats in Chicago, Detroit and Cleveland — I predict that we will win, that this nightmare will be over and America will finally be on the road to recovery,” Bauer said. Bauer was focused on the types of votes he said Democrats rely on, but his talk about people who rely on “government largesse” is not far from the mainstream Republican view of the election. Mitt Romney has said several times that Obama is creating a “culture of dependency” in which more and more people become reliant on government checks. Hopefully HARD Working people know better than to vote for Robney, cuz all he’s gonna do is cut taxes on the rich to the point that they’ll wish they were getting welfare checks! Source
Mitt Robney keeps pissin’ people off! One day after criticizing President Obama in the hours following the announcement of the deaths of four U.S. diplomats, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney softened his tone on Thursday, and focused on grieving. “I know that we’ve had heavy hearts across America today, and I want you to know things are going to get a lot better. But I also recognize that we’re in mourning. We’ve lost four of our diplomats across the world. We’re thinking about their families and those that they’ve left behind,” Romney said, at the beginning of a rally with roughly 2,700 supporters here in Northern Virginia. Then, as Romney continued to lament the loss of U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens, and the three others killed in Benghazi, a heckler distracted him. “What a tragedy, to lose such a wonderful, wonderful, uh,” Romney said, as the heckler began to yell, “Why are you politicizing Libya?” Romney continued, “wonderful people that have been so wonderful.” The crowd chanted the heckler down, and then Romney made a decision that if he held a moment of silence, it would be disrupted by the protester. “And so I would offer a moment of silence but one gentleman doesn’t want to be silent so we’re going to keep on going,” Romney said. Romney’s comments came one day after he leveled a blistering critique at the president just hours after Stevens’ death was announced. It was an apparent acknowledgment by Romney that he may have struck an off-note on Wednesday, when he talking briefly about mourning the Americans’ deaths but spent most of his time blasting Obama’s approach to foreign relations. On Thursday, Virginia State Delegate Bob Marshall (R) spoke at a press conference against state funding for Planned Parenthood. He blasted the organization for supporting a women’s right to choose, saying that God punishes women who have had abortions by giving them disabled children: “The number of children who are born subsequent to a first abortion with handicaps has increased dramatically. Why? Because when you abort the first born of any, nature takes its vengeance on the subsequent children,” said Marshall, a Republican. “In the Old Testament, the first born of every being, animal and man, was dedicated to the Lord. There’s a special punishment Christians would suggest.” Marshall is also fighting against health care reform, saying that “Obamacare” is trying to take “your soul.” Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin has been pushing back against high-profile figures and entities who have been attacking people with disabilities. Aww po’ thang… Social Worker Claims Reporting Mariah Carey’s “Drinking” Got Her Fired After learning that a celebrity mom breastfed her premature twins while drinking alcohol and taking medication, a social worker cried foul and lost her job, she claims in court. Believing that the conduct amounted to child abuse, Mela Ferrer says she reported the celebrity to the Department of Child and Family Services on May 10, 2011. That same week, celebrity Nick Cannon told journalist Piers Morgan that he and Mariah Carey had just been visited by the department based on allegations that there was “some drinking and drugs and all that going on while in the hospital.” The department reportedly determined quickly that there was no merit to the allegations concerning Carey’s twins, who were born prematurely at Santa Monica UCLA Medical Center on April 30, 2011. But Ferrer says the hospital was worried that her duty-bound report would deter other celebrities from using their facilities. They urged Ferrer to “cover it up to protect the image of the celebrity mother,” according to the complaint. Neither Carey, Cannon nor their twins are named in the complaint, which refers only to a “well known celebrity.” Ferrer’s lawyer David Olan said he could neither confirm nor deny the identity of the unnamed star. As entertainment news outlets covered the investigation into Carey last year, the couple said Carey drank Guinness because hospital staff said it would promote lactating. But Ferrer, who was working there on temporary assignment, says “that she was a mandated reporter and was obligated to report the matter to DCFS.” “Some (sic) the medications the celebrity mother was taking were not recommended and/or were contraindicated for use by nursing mothers and/or in combination with alcohol,” the complaint states. Ferrer says one of her supervisors at the hospital, Marcia Colone, reprimanded her on May 11 for filing the report before consulting with the social work supervisor, Josephine Kaplan. On May 12, two days after Ferrer filed the report, Kaplan called the 68-year-old Ferrer into her office and fired her. Ferrer says she later learned that she had been let go under the pretense of not following “protocol.” But the hospital never had set rules or procedures for filing complaints to the department, and it was only interested in protecting its celebrity clientele, according to the complaint.
