Fatima Ali: Terminally Ill Top Chef Star Receives Outpouring of Support

If you’re a fan of the acclaimed Bravo cooking competition Top Chef , then you may have already heard the tragic news that beloved former contestant Fatima Ali has been diagnosed with terminal cancer . Ali revealed her diagnosis Tuesday in a heartbreaking essay published by Bon Appetit. “My oncologist has told me that I have a year to live, with or without the new chemotherapy regimen,” Ali wrote. “I was looking forward to being 30, flirty, and thriving. Guess I have to step it up on the flirting. I have no time to lose.” “I am desperate to overload my senses in the coming months, making reservations at the world’s best restaurants, reaching out to past lovers and friends, and smothering my family, giving them the time that I so selfishly guarded before.” Displaying the trademark wit that made her a fan favorite during her time on the show, Ali added: “I was looking forward to being 30, flirty and thriving. Guess I have to step it up on the flirting. I have no time to lose.” In the hours after Chef Fatima’s article was published, thousands offered words of gratitude and support on social media, including her Top Chef co-stars: “This is my friend, she is courage, strength and she wrote a piece almost as beautiful as she is, link is in my bio please read and share #teamfati,” wrote Top Chef Season 15 champion Joe Flamm. “Can’t even begin to say how devastated I am to hear this news, it really hit me hard! No one truly can understand the bond created through @bravotopchef we’ve become a close knit family very quickly,” fellow chef Bruce Kalman wrote. “I’m so inspired by @cheffati bravery and positive outlook on this situation. Fatima Ali: Top Chef Offer Support “The deep connection and love we all have for each other, for better or worse, is unrivaled. Life is too short and it’s time we all appreciated everyone and everything in our lives.” Just days before she revealed that her illness had reached the terminal stage, Ali posted the above video of her co-stars wishing her well from an event in Connecticut that she had been unable to attend. We hope Fatima finds comfort in knowing that she will receive such love and support in her final days — and joy in knowing that she’s been an inspiration to so many.

Lana Del Rey to Azealia Banks: I Will F–k You Up!

She may have torpedoed her own music career and gotten kicked off Twitter for engaging in some pretty bizarre behavior, but Azealia Banks is still finding ways to make her voice heard. And the results have been just as infuriating and entertaining as ever! Banks’ source of outrage du jour is the uproar surrounding the political opinions of Kanye West . West’s love of Donald Trump has made him low-hanging fruit for many in the celebrity world these days, and Banks feels the hip-hop icon is being unfairly maligned. This week, she specifically singled out singer and ill-fated dame in a Dashiell Hammett adaptation Lana Del Rey, who recently attacked West in a vitriolic series of tweets.  “Wow okay Lana, this would be cute if you were consistent with your outrage and refused to collab with ASAP rocky who has physically assaulted women too,” Banks responded on Twitter. “To me this just looks like the typical White woman taking using a weakened target to ‘pretend’ to be an ally.”  Banks went on to argue that Del Rey “wouldn’t dare challenge a black woman on her opinion” and accused her of using Kanye as an easy trget “for your own vapid attempts to seem politically aware.” From there, Banks accused Del Rey of hypocrisy, pointing out that she’s collaborated with A$AP Rocky, who has been the subject of multiple abuse allegations. “Kanye is not your enemy or THE enemy. In fact your selective outrage Makes YOU. The enemy,” she continued. “You’re exactly the kind of thought police Kanye is fighting against… I suggest you apologize to Kanye” A solid opening salvo, to be sure. And since LDR isn’t really known for engaging in celebrity beefs (or anything other that ethereally drifting through artsy, Chris Isaak-y music videos), it was widely assumed she wouldn’t respond. Not only did she clap back, she straight up threatened to knock Azealia flat: “u know the addy. Pull up anytime. Say it to my face. But if I were you- I wouldn’t,” Del Rey tweeted. “I won’t not f–k you the f–k up. Period.” Another called out Banks directly saying, “Banks. u coulda been the greatest female rapper alive but u blew it. dont take it out on the only person who had ur back.” Unpopular opinion time: politics aside, we have to give the W to Azealia here. For one thing, responding to ideological differences with threats of violence is weak sauce, especially on social media, where there are no physical consequences to such actions. On top of that, if Del Rey and Banks were to square off, we’re pretty sure Lana would be the one getting f–ked up. Elizabeth Woolridge Grant grew up rich as hell Upstate and tried on like 8 different personas before landing on the noirish chanteuse thing she has going on now. Banks is straight outta Harlem and kills chickens for fun . We’d say the smart money is on Azealia, but this fight would be over before anyone had a chance to shake on a bet. Jeremy Calvert: Wait, is He Returning to Teen Mom 2?!?

Jeremy Calvert has said in the past that Teen Mom 2 is phony, negative, contentious and all-around terrible. But the veteran reality star simply can’t stay away. Not even previously claiming he was totally and completely outta there. Back in late June, Calvert made a relatively quiet exit from the series that has made him sort of famous. Asked at the time by OK! Weekly whether he would be returning for future episodes of the show, Calvert replied simply: ” Nope, I’m not .” That was pretty much all we heard from the Leah Messer’s ex-husband (and second baby daddy), unless you count that random time this summer he rushed to the defense of Farrah Abraham . Now, however, the same tabloid to whom Calvert gave his initial quote is confirming the opposite: OK! now writes that Jeremy will be returning to Teen Mom 2 after all. The major news comes on the heels of Calvert posting a photo to Instagram of MTV cameras inside his car, further hammering home the idea that we have not yet seen the last of this controversial cast member. On one hand, this is not surprising. Despite their shoddy history as a couple and also as a former couple, feelings clearly still exist between Calvert and Messer. The stars absolutely got it on (read: had sexual intercourse) just a few months ago. On the other hand, this decision is very surprising. We say that because Calvert has been a vocal opponent of the franchise for over a year now. In 2017, as he and Leah filmed scenes about a potential reconciliation of their romance, Calvert jumped on his Instagram page and ranted about the way he was being portrayed by producers. And we mean… he RANTED! “All they want is the negative editing, arguments, fights, disagreements so they can f-cking make a show,” he said, pretty much stating the obvious about any reality show and adding: “If you people are that goddamn stupid to not see that, what the f-ck is your problem?… It’s not f-cking hard to put two and two together, people… “Yes, MTV just wants drama, people!” (At other points, Calvert hollered about how the sky is blue, the Pope is Catholic and Scott Disick is a douchebag.) Calvert also target Teen Mom 2 viewers via this diatribe, which continued as follows: “F-cking people think they know everything. They can f-cking f-ck off and jump off a f-cking bridge and die for all I care.” If he hates it so much, why hasn’t Calvert just quit for good and for real? “Everybody keeps saying, ‘Oh you can stop filming… at any time you want to,'” he wrote to folks who suggested this. “No motherf-ckers you can’t. You signed a contract. So no you can’t. You don’t know anything about the contract.” Fair enough. We do know a lot about Calvert, however. Ben Affleck Goes Wild with Shauna Sexton: See the Pics!

Ben Affleck is out of rehab. But is the actor out of the woods when it comes to potential dangers that could result from an ongoing drinking problem? No. However, to celebrate his release from his latest stint inside a treatment facility, Affleck just took a trip into the woods with surprisingly serious girlfriend Shauna Sexton . It’s been a whirlwind several days for Affleck. The actor has, at last, finalized his divorce from Jenner Garner; and he’s also left rehab for the third time, following an extended stay that some dumb people on the Internet attributed to Sexton herself . Free from his wife and free from the bottle, Affleck jetted off this weekend to Big Sky, Montana with Sexton. The pair clearly wanted to get away from it all, spending their time in the wilderness and the water, with Shauna chronicling a lot of the trip on social media. Affleck drove, for example: And Sexton hoped to catch dinner: And she even succeeded at one point! Affleck has a personal connection to where he vacationed with Sexton. The star has spent the past three Christmases in Big Sky with his ex-wife, Garner, and their three kids: daughters Violet, 12, and Seraphina, 9, and son Samuel, 6. That makes it sort of interesting that he chose to also go there with Shauna, perhaps signifying to the world just how serious this relationship has become. Most celebrity gossip followers assume at first that Affleck was merely banging a Playboy centerfold because, well… that seemed very on-brand for him when the two were spotted out together this summer. But then Sexton visited Affleck in rehab , signaling that this relationship was about far more than mere boot-knocking and/or hip-thrusting. Days after Affleck agreed to receive treatment for his addiction, Sexton shut down rumors that she played a role in her boyfriend’s relapse, writing on Instagram: “Ben is a grown ass man, baby. He makes his own decisions.” And he has clearly now decided to take the romantic plunge with Sexton. He’s also opened up to the public about his rehabilitation and his hopes for the future. “This week I completed a forty day stay at a treatment center for alcohol addiction and remain in outpatient care,” Affleck said in a statement last week, adding in more gracious detail: The support I have received from my family, colleagues, and fans means more to me than I can say. It’s given me the strength and support to speak about my illness with others. Battling any addiction is a lifelong and difficult struggle. Because of that, one is never really in or out of treatment. It is a full-time commitment. I am fighting for myself and my family. So many people have reached out on social media and spoken about their own journeys with addiction. To those people, I want to say thank you. Your strength is inspiring and is supporting me in ways I didn’t think was possible. It helps to know I am not alone. As I’ve had to remind myself, if you have a problem, getting help is a sign of courage, not weakness or failure. With acceptance and humility, I continue to avail myself with the help of so many people and I am grateful to all those who are there for me. Jesse Meester: Darcey Silva is a Liar and a Sick, Twisted Person!

Of all of the 90 Day Fiance couples, none seems to thrive on constant fighting like Jesse Meester and Darcey Silva. Recently, viewers saw them explode after Jesse told Darcey she’s an alcoholic . But that’s one incident among many. Now, Jesse is exposing Darcey on social media — telling fans that she takes money from everyone, then lies about it. Right now, 90 Day Fiance: Before The 90 Days couple Darcey and Jesse looks like their terrible romance is on its last leg. That’s on TV, and filmed months ago. Right now, it looks like their quarreling is once again spilling over into social media. After one of Jesse’s sycophantic fans (sorry, but it’s the truth) spoke about how she couldn’t stand the way that Darcey treats him, Jesse wrote back. He thanked his fan — and then put Darcey on blast, painting her as a liar with some sort of pathological money problem. “That she’s exploiting her ex-husband, now me and others is the least thing she should do to make herself look better,” Jesse says in slightly broken English. “She’s adding fuel on her issues,” Jesse writes. “Especially after her restaurant situation last week.” That would be the restaurant fight so intense that police were called. Classy. “It’s not my problem anymore,” Jesse writes, though he’s said that before. “Although I kinda felt sad she was still dealing with the same issues.” “But after people sent me screenshots of her behavior with the most disgraceful lies and classless statements,” he says. Those screenshots were “about that we had sex in a hotel room I paid for, that I gave to her when she started drama.” “And then say how she was not treated right and she payed for a trip? Lol,” Jesse writes. “My last bit of empathy is gone.” “To claim you paid for a trip to Greece I paid for you is despicable,” he says. “That was a surprise I arranged for her.” “Oh and the (business class) tickets and your free acces to my company’s guidance and so many more things I helped you with,” Jesse adds. “And then acting like this is a total disgrace!” Jesse declares. “Just when you thought she couldn’t go any lower….” “Just not over my back after doing everything for you and going above and beyond,” he writes. One detail of Jesse’s comment really caught the attention of a number of 90 Day Fiance fans. “When you sell my rings (which is totally fine) and complaint about not having money or not being able to pay off your debt,” he writes. Jesse continues: “when a lot of people help you out financially there is something else going on you need to take a closer look at.” In other words, he is accusing her of having some sort of underlying problem of spending money, asking for financial help, and then overspending again. Jesse also notes that: “Her false accusations need to stop.” “This is all I gotta say about this really,” Jesse says. Anyone want to take bets on whether or not Jesse will talk about Darcey again in the future? “Pure disgust how someone can go that low after all you did,” Jesse laments. Again, he implies that she has some sort of pathology or compulsion. Jesse concludes: “Like she just can’t stop it.” Jesse Meester isn’t exactly the best guy in the world, either. He and Darcey are toxic as a couple, but both are toxic as individuals. (After all, this is the guy who shares private details, true or not, with random fans who say nice things to him) To be brutally honest, folks, a lot of Jesse’s fans are older women who refuse to see past his hotness. They despise Darcey but seeing him with an older woman makes them think that they could be so much better for him. Jen Harley: Ronnie Magro Has Forgiven Me for Almost Killing Him!

Jersey Shore star Ronnie Ortiz Magro has gone through some rough times with Jen Harley. And by rough, we mean that time that Ronnie got dragged by a car . Ronnie went to the hospital, and Jen got her mugshot taken. It was scary. Despite everything, however, Jen is making sure that the world knows that they’re still together and going strong. Jen Harley took to Instagram to share an edited photo and to gush about her relationship. “How we are all the time,” she writes about her relationship with Ronnie. “We went through a rough time,” she vastly understates while not seeming to take responsibility for it. “But,” she continues. “We are strong and the best we’ve ever been.” Jen concludes: “I love you and have your back always.” Jen then writes “LOVERS” in all caps, tagging herself and Ronnie in case there was any doubt. That was not all. Jen also made it clear that she and Ronnie went on a recent family walk through New York City’s Central Park. In addition to sharing glimpses of the skyline and of the greenery, she also posed for a few photos. She had their precious 6-month-old baby, Ariana, with her. Ariana is growing up so quickly! She and Ronnie also had her first child, Mason, along for the walk. This stroll through the park took place on Thursday, October 4. The following day, October 5, was Mike Sorrentino’s sentencing in his tax evasion trial. Ronnie, like many of the Jersey Shore stars, attended in a show of emotional support. Ronnie and Jen have had a tumultuous relationship. Earlier this year, shortly after their daughter Ariana was born, Ronnie accused Jen of having cheated on him. Then, in June, the police were called after a dispute between the two of them became worryingly heated. It was also in June that Jen Harley was arrested for dragging Ronnie with a car . As you may recall, he was trying to leave the car when she reportedly sped away, dragging him and causing him to be hospitalized with some gross-sounding wounds. But Jen avoided real consequences after prosecutors dropped the case. And she and Ronnie are trying to make it work. There is a difference between working through a rough patch and staying in a toxic or violent relationship. A lot of parents seem to think that staying in a toxic relationship is worth it for the sake of a child — to give that child two parents. The reality is too often that children will grow up seeing this toxic relationship, which can harm their development and also influence how that child views relationships as an adult. (Some will repeat their parents’ mistakes — others will avoid that at all costs, but may develop other issues) Are Ronnie and Jen really doing Ariana any favors by staying together? Maybe … or maybe not. For now, though, it looks like they’re trying their best to stay together. It’s definitely easier than co-parenting their baby as a pair of exes. We certainly hope that the two of them manage to avoid any future “rough patches.” (And by that, we definitely mean that we hope that absolutely no one physically assaults anyone else, particularly with a car and asphalt) Baby Ariana is innocent and deserves her parents at their best. Vinny Foti, MTV’s The Challenge Alum, Hospitalized for Heart Failure

Vinny Foti, a former cast member on MTV’s The Challenge, is in desperate need of your help. A GoFundMe campaign has been created to assist Foti after relatives announced he was hospitalized on Friday due to heart failure. This is what the GoFundMe page dedicated to Foti reads: Our sweet, dear friend and coworker Vinny Foti is in ICU with heart failure. He is on a ventilator and is sedated. He is a loving father and husband. We are trying to help raise money for medical expenses and other things needed for the family. They have two daughters ages 2yrs , and 2 months old. Please help us pull together and help this beautiful family. Please help if you can. Foti is a 36-year old native of Boston. His loved ones subsequently updated followers of the GoFundme page with a statement sharing his current condition, while Foti’s wife, Krista Foti, shared the awful news on Twitter. “Thank you for the donations, shares, and likes. Our family feels really loved,” reads this message. It continues: “I told Vinny what was going on even though he was still sleeping. I know he appreciates everything you guys have done. “Here’s the only update I have. They had to put another tube is his left lung to drain. “He’s still in ICU and not getting off the ventilator for a few more days the dr said. Dr said we just got to take it day by day. I ll keep everyone posted.” Foti may be a familiar face to MTV viewers. He initially appeared on the Fresh Meat II season of The Challenge in 2010 and later took part in The Challenge: Season 20’s Cutthroat competition, as well as Season 22’s Battle of the Exes. He’s been involved in reality television for years. Among other reasons for earning a large fan base during his run on the show, Foti garnered attention for his impressive physique “I train every day like an absolute animal and I’m ready,” he said during his first run on the hit MTV series. “I’m in peak performance shape.” The stated goal of the GoFundMe campaign is to raise $20,000. In a barrage of Tweets on October 5, the Teen Mom veteran took extreme issue with a story we ran earlier in the week in which we alleged that her son, Kaiser, was in the hospital following a medical procedure. You can read that story HERE . We had no ill intentions by writing the article. We were simply passing along information as we had received it and we wished her child nothing but the best in the process. But scroll down to see what Jenelle had to say in response, along with why she dragged Briana DeJesus into her critique… 1. Kasier Has Our Full Support This is what we wrote on Friday afternoon: “Jenelle Evans takes a lot of flak from Teen Mom 2 fans, but today, she’s receiving nothing but much-needed emotional support. Jenelle’s youngest son, Kaiser, has been hospitalized, and this week, she updated her Instagram followers on the scary situation. The bad news is, Kaiser is still hospitalized after undergoing multiple procedures.” 2. LIARS! As you can see, Evans took exception to this article on our site. Pretty major exception. 3. Wheel of Fortune Contestant Nearly Ends Twitter with NSFW Guess

Welp, this was a different kind of Wheel of Fortune guess. We've shared in the past some of the worst puzzle responses of all-time (such as THIS ONE ), but the one featured on this page is really unlike any in game show history. During a round of “same name,” Melanie Sinany looked at a nearly-completely board and proudly announced her guess for what was supposed to be “bridal & cold shower.” Right? You would have said that if you saw the puzzle above, wouldn't you? However, Sinany said Gold Shower instead, causing quite the uproar within the studio and across social media. Host Pat Sajak simply uttered a “sorry” after this failed guess, while Vanna White stood at the board looking stunned. (For those innocent and unaware, a golden shower is when one sexual partner urinates on the other. Ask our President about it. He'll explain.) “A woman on Wheel of Fortune just guessed ‘GOLD’ for the part of the phrase ‘COLD SHOWER’ and I’ve never regretted failing to capture something on my phone more,” one Twitter user wrote in reply to this mishap. Added another: “Idk how many times I hit rewind bc I was laughing soo hard and the camera was shaking.” Another chimed in as follows: “#goldshower And just like that, Awkward Moment on @wheeloffortune and YouTube fame for Melanie after guessing Gold Shower. “I wonder if Pat will say anything about it at the end of the game. Cristy Caserta, Former Bachelor Suitor, Dead at 38

Cristy Caserta, a woman who vied for the heart of Brad Womack on The Bachelor Season 15, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday after suffering an apparent seizure. She was 38 years old. According to law enforcement officials, per TMZ, Caserta was attending a class at a school in Sunrise, Florida when she suddenly fell forward at the desk where she was sitting. Her alarmed classmates quickly dialed 911. Tragically, however, Caserta went into cardiac arrest as the paramedics arrived and administered CPR. She was transported to nearby Westside Regional Medical Center … where they continued efforts to save her, but it was too late. She was pronounced dead not long after her arrival. The police have said they don’t suspect foul play and that no drugs were found in Caserta’s system. An autopsy will be performed Friday to determine the official cause of death. This is what the Sunrise Police Department in Florida said about Caserta, who worked as an attorney: “The students around her noticed her coffee fell to the ground and thought maybe she fell asleep, but she was unresponsive when they approached her. “They called 911, and Fire Rescue showed up and started CPR and she was still unresponsive.” As mentioned above, Caserta was featured on Womack’s second season as The Bachelor. She was sent home during the first week. Stephen Carbone, the blogger behind the Bachelor spoilers site Reality Steve, paid tribute to Caserta on Thursday night, writing: “Sick to my stomach to see that Cristy Caserta from Brad Womack’s 2nd season has suddenly passed away. “Cristy was always there to give me legal advice in the past. I’m at a loss after seeing people post on her FB. Just spoke a couple weeks ago. RIP my friend.” In January, Caserta started a job working as a corporate lawyer for a healthcare staffing agency in Sunrise. She had worked as a lawyer at a different company during her time on The Bachelor and was granted leave to appear on the series.
