DeMario Jackson: The Bachelor in Paradise Sex Scandal Wouldn’t Have Happened if I Were White!

Sometimes, even when a scandal is resolved, the people involved are haunted by rumor and resentments. The Bachelor in Paradise sex scandal is, unfortunately, an example of that. DeMario Jackson is understandably bitter at how some portrayed him. What’s more, he says that the “scandal” would never have happened if he’d been white. Last June, just days into the first attempt at filming Bachelor in Paradise season 4, production was shut down after DeMario Jackson and Corinne Olympios had a drunken hookup in the pool. The alleged problem, brought forward by two producers, was that they thought that a sexual assault had taken place, because Corinne and DeMario were both said to be pretty heavily intoxicated. You can plan to hook up with somebody and drink, sure. But if you’re plastered, folks, you can’t consent. Nobody involved was ever heard accusing DeMario of taking advantage of Corinne or Corinne of taking advantage of DeMario, but the lack of information did lead to a lot of rumors. It didn’t help that Corinne was unable to remember what had happened. The investigation found no evidence of sexual assault , and Corinne publicly expressed satisfaction with the findings, but apparently even that vindication hasn’t soothed all of the hurt feelings during the investigation. Understandably, DeMario still feels a little bitter. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter , DeMario Jackson says that the scandal never would have happened if he were white . He suggests that the producers who expressed their concerns thought that they were seeing a narrative play out that wasn’t real. “They wanted the angry black guy and this little, innocent white girl. But it wasn’t that.” Very true. And before you say that it looks like DeMario is slut-shaming Corinne, he’s not. (We’ll get to that) “If I would have been [white contestants] Alex [Woytkiw] or Derek [Peth], we wouldn’t even be having this conversation.” Kind of awkward to name specific names. (Also, it’s funny that he mentions those two, because Alex Woytkiw and Derek Peth look like they could be related) DeMario laments his missed opportunities. “I would probably be engaged to Alexis [Waters] right now.” Wow. DeMario has mentioned before on Instagram that he has fond memories from his few days on Bachelor in Paradise . One of those fond memories was throwing coconuts into the water with Alexis Waters at, like, 3am. He apparently asked Alexis to marry him, but we don’t know at what point. She turned him down, though. We don’t think that DeMario is saying that he’d be engaged to Alexis if he were white, but rather that, if the scandal hadn’t happened, he’d be married to Alexis. And … maybe? White privilege is a real thing, and it’s certainly the case that some people are more likely to call the police on interracial couples, alleging either kidnapping or prostitution. (Racism sucks, folks) It’s always easy to imagine that your life would be better if that one thing hadn’t occurred. It’s not always true. We just hope that DeMario doesn’t get hung up on this and, personally and professionally, can move past this. DeMario has more to say about how things would have been if he were white. “This wouldn’t have been a story.” We’re not sure about that, because the producers who raised the (false) alarm may have been sensitive to a drunk woman hooking up rather than to DeMario’s race. But was there racism involved in the backlash? Absolutely. “We wouldn’t even be having this discussion at all. … I had white America calling me the N-word and telling me to ‘go back to Africa.'” That is so sad. We’ve spoken about how even DeMario’s mother was told hateful things . Again, Corinne never once said anything bad about DeMario. And DeMario is returning the favor, talking about how shamefully people talked about Corinne: “And they were slut-shaming Corinne, which sucked.” Racism and sexism combined to shame both people when there wasn’t even a sexual assault. DeMario says that this has impacted his entire worldview. “For me, I’m just sitting here thinking, ‘Wow. Our world.’ The human race continues to let me down.” That is wildly relatable. Like, there was a literal Nazi rally over the weekend that included a terrorist attack against counter-protesters. “Wow, Our world” is right. Paris Hilton: I’m Totally Sorry for Defending Trump! That Wasn’t Hot

Hey, remember how Paris Hilton defended Trump , calling him “respectful” and “sweet” as if she’d only met a Trump from an alternate universe? Unfortunately, we remember. She’s been slammed for her comments, because … they were terrible. The interview turns out to have been from a year ago, but still. Her thoughts on the orange man notwithstanding, Paris Hilton’s not stupid — and she’s issued an apology. Plenty of people admire Paris Hilton for her music or her business acumen or her acting or her brand or whatever. These past couple of years of listening to her have positive things to say about Donald Trump has been … painful. While it was obvious that, like Clay Aiken, Paris Hilton’s statements in Trump’s defense were based upon personally knowing him and being totally unable to handle the kind of man he really is because he was always so nice to her . (That’s so common — we’ve all seen people respond to finding out that someone’s an abuser or a serial killer or whatever and going “but he was so nice.” Monsters aren’t always monsters to everyone, folks) Like Clay Aiken , Paris is now apologizing for her remarks defending Trump. In a statement to Us Weekly on Wednesday, Paris Hilton said that she’s sorry for her Trump comments . “I want to apologize for my comments from an interview I did last year.” Always good to start with the apology itself. Remember when we mentioned, as we covered it, that we didn’t know when the interview was actually done? It’s kind of shady that it just popped up right after the Charlottesville Nazi rally and terrorist attack , when Trump is despised even more than usual. “They were part of a much larger story and I am regretful that they were not delivered in the way I had intended.” Now, they shouldn’t have been delivered at all, to be clear. She should not have said what she did, either about Trump being a good person and especially not about the women accusing Trump of sexual assault being fame-seekers. “I was speaking about my own experiences in life and the role of media and fame in our society and it was never my intention for my comments to be misapplied almost a year later.” Poor phrasing isn’t the best excuse. We do understand that Paris is talking about a man she’s known since childhood. We just wish that his present statements and actions would speak loud enough for her to condemn him. Paris Hilton tries to address the shaming of his accusers, specifically. “I always believe in helping women have their voices heard and helping create an environment where women feel empowered and believe in themselves.” That’s good. That’s also very different from accusing Trump’s accusers of bieng liars. “I am deeply hurt by how this has played out and also deeply sorry.” That kind of has a “I’m sorry you were upset” vibe to it, you know? But it’s Paris and we think that she’s being sincere. “Moving forward I will continue to do what I can to be an advocate for girls and women with the hopes of providing a louder voice for those who may desperately need it.” That’s not a condemnation of Trump, but it is an apology. That has to count for something. Honestly, we’re beginning to suspect that there’s more at play here than a personal fondness. It’s possible that Paris’ family has business ties with Trump that could be endangered if she speaks up. We know that Trump’s politics are very different from her own. Remember, this is the woman who did the “Paris For President” music video back in 2008. During that song, she talked about LGBT rights, she talked about scaling back the world’s nukes and also about the importance of environmental protections in the face of climate change. Seriously, “intensify nuclear non-proliferation and ratify Kyoto today” was a line from the song. She also took some well-deserved jabs at George W. Bush. We’d love to see that from Paris again. We believe that she can be that Paris again.

Daily Stormer, White Supremacist Website, Yanked Down by GoDaddy

The Daily Stormer is no longer a working website on the Internet. The infamous neo-Nazi, White Supremacy destination was given 24 hours notice by domain hosting company GoDaddy on Monday that it had violated its terms of service and would need to move to another provider if it wished to remain active. “We informed The Daily Stormer that they have 24 hours to move the domain to another provider, as they have violated our terms of service,” GoDaddy wrote on its official Twitter page this morning. The Daily Stormer article that caused this issue slandered Heather Heyer, a 32-year-old woman who was run over by a car that drove at full speed into a crowd of anti-fascist protesters in Virginia this past Saturday. This domestic terrorist act was the tragic culmination of a weekend of protests in Charlottesville . The protests got underway on Friday night during a “United the Right” gathering organized by a white nationalist group. Within hours of their demonstration on the University of Virginia campus, those who opposite their racist world views came together in solidarity around the school and its town. With tempers flaring and violence breaking out, a man later identified as James Fields hit his gas pedal and rammed into two slow-moving cars in front of him on the street. He sent these cars flying into a number of pedestrians… including Heyers. She died from the injuries sustained in this apparent homicide. In a subsequent post on the website he founded, Andrew Anglin alleged that Heyer had been killed in a “road rage incident.” He also launched into a vitriolic tirade about her appearance, saying she was a “drain on society” due to her age and the fact that she had not given birth to any children. “Despite feigned outrage by the media, most people are glad she is dead, as she is the definition of uselessness,” Anglin, the site’s editor, actually wrote.  He also claimed that Dodge, the maker of the vehicle used in the incident, may have somehow been behind Fields’ actions as some kind of promotional campaign. Following the article about Heyer and the announcement that GoDaddy would be ending the Daily Stormer’s service, the website appeared to have been hacked by internet activist group Anonymous. An article with Anonymous’ signature Guy Fawkes mask appeared at the top of the page on Monday morning with a headline reading: “END OF HATE: ANONYMOUS NOW IN CONTROL OF DAILY STORMER.” The Daily Stormer, which refers to itself as “The World’s Most Genocidal Republican Website,” has been dubbed the “top hate site in America” by the Southern Poverty Law Center. It endorsed Donald Trump for President in 2015, publishing a story titled “Heil Donald Trump – The Ultimate Savior” after Trump proposed introducing a total ban on Muslim immigration. The site publishes content denigrating Jewish people, Muslims, people of color and women. After failing to identity White Supremacists or their kind by name in his remarks on Saturday, President Trump issues a new statement today that reads as follows: “Racism is evil – and those who cause violence in its name are criminals and thugs, including KKK, neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and other hate groups are repugnant to everything we hold dear as Americans. “Those who spread violence in the name of bigotry strike at the very core of America.” After Trump’s vague comments over the weekend, The Daily Stormer had shared a post with readers that praised the President and his views, interpreting them to mean he did not see its members as a unique threat to the country.

Jenelle Evans: My Son is Being Violent Because He Wants to Live with Me!

After years and years of watching Teen Mom 2, we all know quite a bit about Jenelle Evans, don't we? For instance, we know that she's one of those people who tend to create their own version of events , reality be damned. You can see several examples of this in her new book — remember how she claimed that her mother tricked her into giving up custody of her oldest son, Jace, even though she was the best mom ever? Meanwhile, we all remember seeing how it really played out in early seasons of the show, and we definitely remember her willingly signing over custody to the long-suffering Barbara Evans. Still, Jenelle insists on trying to paint herself in a positive light, even if she doesn't deserve it. And if you still don't know what we're talking about, then just check out this truly bizarre deleted scene from this week's episode of Teen Mom 2 . As you may remember from the episode, Jace has been acting out recently — so much that he threw a toy at Barbara and bruised her face. Jenelle and Babs talked about getting him into therapy, which seems like a good idea. The poor kid has been through a lot in his eight years. But in this clip, Teen Mom's hottest mess reveals some additional details about the situation. Things start off with Jenelle and her fiancé, David Eason, having a little chat in a restaurant while baby Ensley sleeps soundly in her car seat. They talk about taking some photos with all the kids this weekend, and she mentions that she's excited for Jace to meet Ensley for the first time. Then she tells him that “He freaked out a school and he threw something at my mom, and like busted her nose.” “And she, like, doesn't understand why he's freaking out, and she calls me and says 'Oh, he's being bad' and everything.” “And then I'm like 'Well, I got my hands tied, what do you want me to do? I'm not there to discipline him and you don't let me have him , so …'” She says that Barbara has been telling Jace's teachers that she doesn't know why he's “freaking out,” and that “I feel bad for him because it's like no one knows the truth and they're believing my mom.” If you're wondering what the hell she's talking about, you're not alone. But hang on, she gets to her point real quick … “I know the truth,” she tells David. “I know why he's freaking out. He's freaking out because he wants to live here. And that's why he's being bad.” … Really, Jenelle? That's why Jace is acting out and being violent, because he wants to live with you? She says that she hopes Jace isn't mad at her because he still doesn't live with her, and that “I want Jace to come live with me so bad, he doesn't even know the truth.” What truth?! The clip ends with Jenelle telling David that she's “trying everything in my power” to get Jace back. It's just so bizarre that she thinks that her son is behaving the way he is because he wants to live with her … like is that really the scenario that makes the most sense? Maybe he's reacting to the years and years of seeing Jenelle scream and yell at Barbara — maybe she's never shown her respect, and he's learning that. Or maybe he's starting to realize how unstable his childhood has been, especially since his mother just had another baby when she still doesn't have custody of him. There are a lot of reasons why poor Jace could be acting out, but a desperation to live with Jenelle doesn't seem super likely. Watch the odd scene below:

Jersey Shore: See the First Look at the Reunion Special!

Can you believe that it's been five whole years since we last saw any new footage from Jersey Shore? Sure, we've been keeping up with several of the cast members in that time — we know all about The Situation's legal trouble and Snooki and J-Woww's family life. But nothing can compare to what goes down when that special, special group of people get together for a summer in Seaside Heights. It was just such an iconic moment in American history, you know? Like, most people can tell you exactly where they were and what they were doing the moment they found out that Snooki got arrested for being drunk on the beach . (…Right?) But while Jersey Shore signified such a special time in reality television, that time has passed. Still, that doesn't mean we can't revisit the magic! On August 20th — so soon! — E! is airing a special called Road Trip Reunion: Return to the Jersey Shore. In the special, Snooki, The Situation, J-Woww, Pauly D, and Sammi Sweetheart will gather together to take a road trip down to their old stomping grounds. Which means that Ronnie, Deena, and Vinny won't be there — and Angelina, obviously. Their absence will be noticeable, we're sure, but with Snooki there, you can't really go wrong. And, as you can see in this brand new footage from the special, there's plenty of drama to go around. In the clip, we see The Situation pull up to a house with Snooki in the passenger seat — an interesting move, considering their history — and Pauly D greeting them. “Cabs here!” The Sitch yells, just like the good old days. Pauly, bless his heart, then takes some time to discuss the GTL lifestyle and what that looks like in 2017. If you're curious, he has an in-home gym, he spray tans instead of getting in a tanning bed, and he sends his laundry out to have someone else do it for him. He also discusses his iconic hairstyle, which, in case you haven't noticed, hasn't changed a bit. The drama comes when Pauly goes to greet his former co-stars. He's just as happy as ever, and we see him giving The Situation a hug. But then, in one of those classic reality show moments, Sitch explains to the camera that “Pauly D was my boy in the house,” but “it's been five years, we haven't spoken.” It's going down! You can just smell that good ol' Jersey Shore drama a-brewin', can't you?! Check out the action in the video below:

Charlottesville Rocked by Protests, Deadly Terror Act

WARNING: The following video is disturbing in nature. It depicts an unknown assailant ramming two slow-moving cars through a group of protestors who had gathered in Charlottesville, Virginia to object to the recent words and actions of White Supremacists in the area. After the car slams on the gas and plows other vehicles into this contingent of civilians, it hits reverse and speeds up in the opposite direction, hitting other individuals along the way. At the moment, one person is reported dead and 19 injured as a result of this terrorist act. Chaos has broken out in Charlottesville after modern day Nazis marched through the University of Virginia campus on Friday night, chanting epithets and yelling that “White Lives Matter.” They did so in response to the removal of a statue of late Civil War General Robert E. Lee. The following morning, counter protestors took to the streets of this city, which is now under an official state of emergency, per Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe. In response to the civil unrest, President Donald Trump said a bunch of meaningless cliches and refused to point any fingers at the White Nationalists for their points of view or their violent actions. “We condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry and violence on many sides, on many sides,” Trump said in a short statement from his private golf club in New Jersey. He added: “It has been going on for a long time in our country – not Donald Trump, not Barack Obama. It has been going on for a long, long time. It has no place in America.” The Commander-in-Chief did not mention White Supremacists or the the alt-right movement in his remarks, and later called for a “study” of the “situation.” Take a look below at the tragic incident that took these protests to a new and fatal level:

Jacob Roloff: Little People, Big World is SO FAKE!

Jacob Roloff is not a huge fan of Little People, Big World. We know that because he’s made it ridiculously, astoundingly clear ever since he quit the show. Jacob dislikes his family’s show so much that after he quit, he also cut contact with his parents and his siblings for a long time. Thankfully, he’s mended his relationships with the rest of the Roloffs — he’s said as much, and we know it for sure thanks to his adorable presence at Molly’s wedding last weekend . But still, his hatred for the show remains. In some new excerpts from his very first book, Verbing, he explains some of the issues he has with Little People, Big World. In one section, he writes “The first few years of doing this show were pretty alright, just a few (dozen) extra people around the house and farm.” “The actual filming in that beginning period was subject to the events unfolding, that is, something happened then the cameras came running.” But then, “After the few first years of testing the waters, the whole process did a sort of flip where events became subject to the filming, that is, became more orchestrated than spontaneous, in a weird indistinguishable mix.” “That phase went on for a while, too, until turning into the dominantly orchestrated ordeal it is today.” This part isn’t really anything we haven’t heard before — we know his main issue with the show is that he believes it’s too staged. He feels so strongly about the issue that in a rant he made on Instagram last year, he even said that “The family that is filmed is not my family.” They are the Roloff Characters and I have scarcely anything in common with them, nor do I want to be a character myself.” But in these new excerpts from Jacob’s book, he delves a little deeper into the issue. “Chief and simply, it forced me to grow up faster than normal (whatever a normal rate may be),” he writes. “Doing on the fly interviews and formal ones alike forced me to answer certain questions about myself, my family and my life that I normally might not have wondered about for some years.” Sounds pretty tough, right? Especially when you think about how young Jacob was when he was on the show. “One the one hand,” he explains, “I’m stuck in front of a lens, symbolizing the millions of people that watch(ed) our show, left to my own devices of coping and getting attention that usually panned out great for The Brass in L.A.” “On the other hand, instantly, it forced me to evolve mentally way faster than I would have, I think, under circumstances of less pressure.” So it sounds like he’s coming to terms with the whole thing — and thank goodness, right? View Slideshow: Little People, Big World Cast: Then vs. Now And Jacob is only 20 years old, so he has plenty of time to process how weird it must have been to grow up on a reality show. Will you be picking up his book?
