Donald Trump’s relationship with his children has been a subject of intense scrutiny for several years now. As far as we can tell, the family dynamic breaks down like this: Ivanka is the obvious favorite, and in a more permissive time and place, she would likely wind up replacing her father’s mysteriously-slain wife in an ill-defined role, after Milania was snuffed out in a nefarious plot straight out of Shakespeare or George R.R. Martin. Don Jr., of course, is his father’s right-hand man and future fall guy, and as much as the sight of his shaved ferret visage might cause your lunch to rise in the back of your throat, the thought of him still defending his dad in his third or fourth year of sporting a county orange jumpsuit should give you a chuckle. Eric — what can we say about Eric that hasn’t already been said about Lenny in Of Mice and Men ? He might mean well, but he should not be trusted around children or small animals. Barron is just trying to maintain, and we very much look his Mommie Dearest -esque memoir about his years in the White House. And then there’s Tiffany — the most mysterious of the Trump children. For the most part, Tiff managed to keep a low profile during the years in which her father transitioned from harmless reality TV punchline to dangerous demagogue punchline. Prior to that transformation, Tiffany tried to make it as a singer , but she was held back by uncertainty within the music industry and the fact that she’s utterly lacking in anything resembling talent. In the year’s since her father rode a wave of white supremacist furor — sorry, “economic anxiety” — to the White House, Tiffany has been embroiled in the occasional mini-scandal here and there, but it’s usually just the usual gross nonsense we’ve come to expect from her dad, such as the time video emerged of Donald discussing Tiffany’s future breasts when she was a baby. (Again, the remnants of your most recent sandwich burbling up to your uvula is the appropriate response here.) It’s great for Tiff that she’s been able to distance herself from her sundowning dad, but the reason he’s allowed her to do so is undeniably sad. By all accounts, Donald simply doesn’t like Tiffany . The nature of their tempestuous relationship was essentially confirmed this week when a White House assistant named Madeline Westerhout made some off the record comments about Tiffany at a New Jersey golf club while in the company of reporters. “She had a couple drinks and in an uncharacteristically unguarded moment, she opened up to the reporters,” one insider told Politico. Specifically, Westerhout claimed that the president does not like to be photographed with Tiffany due to the fact that he considers her overweight. Westerhout was promptly fired for her comments, and Trump refuted the claim while speaking with reporters over Labor Day weekend. “I love Tiffany,” the president said, adding that she’s “great person,” which might be the most half-assed fatherly sentiment in history. Donald added that Westerhout’s comments are “absolutely false” and “hurtful.” “While Madeleine Westerhout has a fully enforceable confidentiality agreement, she is a very good person and I don’t think there would ever be reason to use it,” he later tweeted. “She called me yesterday to apologize, had a bad night. I fully understood and forgave her! I love Tiffany, doing great!” You know he had to cut himself off before adding: “I’m a very Forgiving President, folks. On Thursday, Kathryn Dennis took to social media to thank everyone for watching Southern Charm . She also flaunted a diamond ring. Could it be that, after her vicious custody battle , Kathryn had finally found new happiness with boyfriend Hunter Price ? Sadly, apparently not. “Thank y’all so much for watching us this season,” Kathryn wrote in her captions on Thursday. She praised her fans, saying: “Y’all make it all worth it!” “Stay gucci and stay tuned,” the Southern Charm star concluded. What caught the attention and hopes of her fans and followers was the photo itself, however. Kathryn is seen wearing a diamond ring on her left ring finger — and prominently displaying it. Naturally, many fans jumped to the understandably conclusion that Kathryn is engaged to Hunter Price. The two have been dating for seven months. Hunter is a Country music singer who rose to fame on America’s Got Talent . He also happens to be a major hottie. After Thomas being a nightmare human being and twice her age, a lot of fans were rooting for them. Instead, not only are they not engaged, but they’re no longer even dating. People reports that Kathryn and Hunter have broken up. “Kathryn is not engaged to anyone but herself,” an inside source revealed to the publication. The insider’s phrasing is very affirming language — it’s good to hear that Kathryn is working on loving herself. Then, the world learned that this breakup news managed to stay under wraps for a little while. “She and Hunter actually split about two weeks ago,” the source shared. It wasn’t so long ago that Kathryn was gushing over Hunter and calling him “my person.” So what went wrong for this couple? “Their relationship ran its course,” the insider simply stated. That could be a BS cover story, but you know what? That happens sometimes. “Kathryn is doing well,” the source assured fans. “And staying focused on the kids.” Kathryn is of course a devoted mother of two young children: 5-year-old Kensie and 3-year-old Saint. We know that the outcome of Kathryn’s custody battle with her disgraced ex Thomas Ravenel did not go ideally for either of them. They share custody, but the court placed some restrictions upon both of them. Either may drug-test the other at random, with any findings reported to family court. Neither is permitted to drink while they have the kids. Probably for the best. Additionally — and why we bring this up — both are forbidden from having “sleepovers” while they have custody, or even exposing a lover to their kids without the other’s consent. It’s possible that these new orders took the wind out of Kathryn and Hunter’s sails, so to speak, and that their romance just fizzled out. Ultimately, however, we of course do not know what broke them up. The explanation that the relationship “ran its course” may be vague, but it’s as good as any and may even be true. Jen Harley was front and center on Jersey Shore: Family Vacation once again this week. She was involved in yet another confrontation. With on-again/off-again/on-again/why-aren’t-these-two-permanently-off-again Ronnie? Nope. With Vinny’s hilarious uncle, Nino! The latest installment of this MTV franchise took us back to Mike’s wedding day , specifically the reception and even more specifically the fallout from absolutely everyone getting totally wasted. This included Uncle Nino, who chose to corner Ronnie’s baby mama and ask about all the stories he had been hearing and reading about on the World Wide Web. At one point during the alcoholo-fueled evening, Jen found herself alone at the table with Uncle Nino — who had been pounding wine since the moment arrived. Deena Cortese and her husband, Chris, were close by. And so were network cameras… “Jen, Jen,” Nino said to Harley. “Ronnie is sweetheart. I know he adores you. Adores you. Adores. He’s a good, a good, a good soul. A beautiful soul. He doesn’t care about any other women. They don’t exist.” (Doesn’t care about other women, huh? They don’t exist, you say? These are questionable statements .) Deena and Chris didn’t even try to keep a straight face upon hearing this claim, busting out with laughter as footage of Ronnie bringing home that busty blonde from Miami last year flashed across the screen. You’re beating, you’re beating up on him? On my boy? What’s that all about?” “It fake news,” Jen replied. “Fake news, my balls!” Nino fired back. “Stop beating on him! You keep f–king him up! He loves you! Killing off TV characters is risky business. You run the risk of ruining a good show, and pissing off a lot of fans in the process. We've rounded up 15 deaths that completely were essentially the death knell for their respective shows. Do you agree with these takes? 1. Smurf – Animal Kingdom This one is very recent, but what the heck? Ellen Barkin’s Smurf was one of the only reasons to tune into Animal Kingdom. She was quick-witted, badass, and crazy. Those are great traits for a TV character! 2. Rhaegal – Game of Thrones Game of Thrones spent years saying just how strong the dragons were, so to have Euron wipe Rhaegal out with ease left many fans wondering what the heck the creators were thinking of when they thought it would be a good twist. It was the first major disappointment in what was ultimately a terrible final season for the HBO epic. 3. Tara – True Blood True Blood turned to crap long before the pitiful series finale, and that was thanks in large part to the death of Tara aka one of the best characters. Tara’s relationship with Pam was going to strength to strength when she was killed off in a pretty nonsensical way. 4. Laurel – Arrow Just when it seemed like the writers were finally starting to realize that Katie Cassidy’s character had a huge fanbase, they killed her off. It was pretty bizarre, and the backlash resulted in them bringing back another iteration of the character that ultimately became known as Laurel. 5. Mike -Desperate Housewives Desperate Housewives managed to remain fresh for most of its eight-season run, but the show will always be remembered for jumping the shark ahead of its finale when it opted to kill off Mike Delfino. 6. Cristal – Dynasty When Dynasty Season 1 ended with Cristal in a burning barn with a gunshot to the abdomen, fans thought the character would make a miraculous recovery for Season 2. Plastic surgery and Hollywood have always gone hand-in-hand. It makes perfect sense, of course — and it stands to reason that an industry which places such a strong emphasis on youth and appearance would lead lots of folks to go under the knife. Unfortunately, you rarely read articles about a star who got some really great work done. Much more often, someone goes way too far with the nips and tucks and winds up looking like a version of themself that was sketched by a blindfolded artist using his non-dominant hand. The latest victim of this phenomenon is billionaire karaoke judge Simon Cowell. As you can see Cowell, is not looking like himself these days. In fact, he’s not looking like anyone , because human beings don’t look like that. The Cowell Situation was first called to the internet’s attention by comedian Alise Morales. “Someone please stop working and talk to me about what in the living f–k Simon Cowell has done to his face,” she tweeted. And with that, they were off to the races. Instantly the sharpest wits on Twitter were attempting to outdo one another in a contest that brought to mind the time that Renee Zellwegger showed off her new face and everyone freaked out. “His eyes look like his face is slowly eating them,” writer Dave Schilling tweeted. “Please stop tweeting me this picture of the latest thing Simon Cowell has done to himself,” wrote UK comic Limmy. “I used to joke about it, but now I’m just worried. I mean, look. Look at his brow, hanging down like that. He looks like he’s wearing an invisible cap. It’s so f**king sad.” He later added: “I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again. If you get down and you don’t see the point of it all, here’s something that I hope will give you a reason for living. “What will Simon Cowell’s face look like in 10 years from now?” Powerful stuff. But while the internet was yukking it up, Cowell’s fellow 2006 relic Perez Hilton offered a serious evaluation of the photo and Cowell’s unfamiliar visage: “I’m going with: new veneers, fillers in the cheek, Botox in the forehead and a possible eye job too!” In other words, Cowell really went all in, and the renovation did not pay off. If you love painfully awkward exchanges between reality stars and their fans, this one’s for you. Mott Roloff has been sticking it to ex-wife Amy Roloff all summer by flaunting gorgeous vacation photos with his girlfriend Caryn Chandler. Now it seems Caryn is dipping her toe in the drama pool too after posting her own date night photo with Matt, and throwing a little shade Amy’s way. Last weekend, Caryn posted a cute shot of herself and Matt sharing a meal on Instagram. The couple both grin for the camera while enjoying what looks to be a tiny pizza and a cup of tomato bisque. It all seems innocent enough, with a sweet caption to match. “Dinner in Bend, Oregon on a quick road trip & get a way,” Caryn captioned. “Never mind those pesky summer thunderstorms,” she added. She also included the umbrella and eye roll emoji, for good measure. Caryn’s fans and followers, however, were not about to waste this opportunity to drag up some Roloff drama. One pot-stirrer wrote “Watch out, I see Amy looking through the window.” That’s a scary thought that would have anyone looking over their shoulder, just to check. Amy and Matt’s breakup has stayed relatively mature and amicable. However, amy has been open about Matt having an affair with Caryn while he and Amy were still together. The former couple has refrained from public arguments and online mud-slinging. But it’s clear Amy is not a big fan of Caryn, or her involvement in the dissolution of her marriage. Fans are keenly aware of this, and that’s why some are jokingly tormenting Caryn with references to Amy creeping around her and Matt’s dates. So how did Caryn respond to being put on the spot for stealing Amy’s man? With just one, somewhat inscrutable flushed-face emoji! Use your words, Caryn! What are we all supposed to make of this? At the very least, we can say Caryn seems to feel pretty embarrassed by the commenter’s remark. That she chose to respond but not actually say anything implies that she doesn’t know what to say in her defense. Or maybe she just has nothing nice to say about Amy? Our best guess is that Caryn was just trying to say, “Wow, why’d you have to go and make this real awkward?” But that’s not the kind of thing “nice” celebs tend to say to fans. That’s a whole conversation Caryn is not trying to have with this random Insta user. But if that’s the case, perhaps the more graceful alternative would have been to just ignore that comment. Some other commenters seemed to agree. “Yikes,” began one response, “no response to that would [have] been classy move.” Maybe so, but it was too late by that point. Other commenters just wanted to get in on the fun. “Yeah,” One user chimed in, “[Amy’s] saying thank God she’s someone else problem.” “Exactly!!” another agreed, “She can have him.” It seems like quite a few people feel like Amy is well rid of her duplicitous ex. That said, we hope Caryn’s blushing emoji doesn’t mean she feels ashamed of her behavior. Caryn was just trying to share a happy moment from her life. If Amy has any objections to that, it’s really not Caryn’s fault. But the real winner in this comment thread was one user who ignored the ex-drama, but took issue with Caryn complaining about the stormy weather. “Summer thunderstorms are cool!” they insisted, adding a storm cloud emoji. Todd Chrisley has already proclaimed his innocence on social media. And now the embattled reality star has done so in a court of law. Earlier this week, the very rich USA Network personality was indicted , along with wife Julie, on multiple charges; foremost among them: Wire fraud, conspiracy to commit bank fraud and conspiracy to defraud the United States. Todd and Julie are accused of forging bank documents and not paying federal taxes over a period of multiple years. If convicted across the board, they could face 30 years in prison . On Wednesday afternoon, the reality stars pleaded not guilty to these tax evasion and other federal charges — and their lawyers claimed the counts stemmed from false allegations made by a former employee. This is the same allegation Todd wrote about in his lengthy self-defense on Monday. “I’ve never talked about this publicly before, but there’s been a cloud hanging over Julie and me and our entire family for the past seven years,” Todd said via Instagram this week, adding: “It all started back in 2012, when we discovered that a trusted employee of ours had been stealing from us big time… “I’m telling you all this because we have nothing to hide and have done nothing to be ashamed of. Not only do we know we’ve done nothing to be ashamed of. “Not only do we know we’ve done nothing wrong, but we’ve got a ton of hard evidence and a bunch of corroborating witnesses that prove it.” During the aforementioned hearing yesterday, a judge agreed to release the famous couple on a $100,000 unsecured bond , which means they don’t have to pay anything unless they fail to show up for court dates. Todd and Julie were also required to surrender their passports and are not allowed to travel outside of parts of Georgia and Tennessee without alerting their probation officers of their plans. According to the Associated Press, the bond conditions mentioned above were based on requests from the couple’s attorneys for travel permission so the family members can continue filming the reality television show . This would seem to contradict reports that USA will not be bringing Chrisley Knows Best back for another season. It has already aired for seven seasons and even spawned a spinoff for two of Todd and Julie’s kids. One of those kids, Savannah, is standing strongly behind her parents. ” ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged … the battle is not yours, but God’s. 2 Chronicles 20:15,’” the 22-year old wrote yesterday on her Instagram Story. Elsewhere, however, a U.S. Attorney has said the following: Todd and Julie Chrisley are charged not only with defrauding a number of banks by fraudulently obtaining millions of dollars in loans, but also with allegedly cheating taxpayers by actively evading paying federal taxes on the money they earned. Celebrities face the same justice that everyone does. These are serious federal charges and they will have their day in court. On the other legal side, the Chrisley lawyers ( Bruce H. Morris and Stephen Friedberg) have defended their well-known clients with a long statement of their own. This is what it says: For quite some time now, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Georgia has been conducting an investigation of Todd and Julie Chrisley based for the most part on the demonstrably false allegations of a former officer of a company they owned jointly. We saw the results of this effort yesterday – an indictment against Todd, Julie, and their accountant that relies largely if not entirely on emails that we know Todd never sent but rather were fabricated by this former employee. This individual, identified in the indictment only as ‘Co-conspirator A,’ first approached federal authorities in 2012, claiming he had evidence that Todd had been trying to avoid paying his taxes. What the authorities didn’t know, at least initially, was that he had been fired by the Chrisleys after they discovered he had been falsifying documents, forging their signatures, bugging their home, and intimidating other employees into covering up what amounted to a multi-million-dollar embezzlement scheme. These and many other criminal misdeeds were detailed in a federal RICO suit that the Chrisleys filed against him in 2012. Ironically, it was this lawsuit that sent him to the U.S. Attorney’s office. He wasn’t looking for justice but for revenge and his “evidence” against Todd consisted mainly of falsified document Now, seven years later, the government has granted this individual immunity from prosecution for his own crimes and used his false allegations to bring an indictment against the Chrisley. We have no doubt that if this case ever reaches a courtroom, Todd and Julie will be completely exonerated. But in the meantime, their reputation will be sullied by a shamefully unjustified prosecution based on testimony of a dishonest source who has somehow managed to successfully mislead prosecutors.
